The leader had a square face with eyebrows that met in a straight line, and three people followed behind him.

The newcomer was none other than the One-Eyebrow Taoist—Uncle Ying!

Behind him were his two apprentices, Ah Hao and Ah Fang, and at the very back, a panting man called Shao Genjin. This banana grove belonged to his family.

Uncle Ying arrived with several people, and suddenly he raised his hand: "Stop, something's not right!"

The two apprentices were puzzled, but they still obeyed.

Just then, a tremor came from the banana grove, and a figure emerged from it.

"Master, someone's here!"

"Of course I saw it."

Uncle Ying frowned, his hand already reaching for the peach wood sword.

But when the man from the forest came out, he was a man they didn't recognize, wearing strange clothes and with short hair.

Chen Xing emerged from the forest, straightening his torn clothes. The scratches on his body disappeared at a visible speed.

Behind Chen Xing were rows of ravaged banana trees.

He saw a group of people ahead.

Uncle Ying is here, just in time.

Chen Xing straightened his clothes and walked towards the other person with a smile.

As they approached, still a few meters apart, Uncle Na Ying spoke first: "Friend, where are you from? Did you encounter anything?"

"Yes! I ran into an unlucky fellow and a banana spirit in the woods."

Upon hearing this, Uncle Ying immediately exclaimed, "A banana spirit?"

"Of course, I've already subdued her, she's fine now."

Uncle Ying was taken aback. He could tell that the young man in front of him had no magical power, only a well-built physique... How did he subdue the banana spirit?

He wanted to ask more questions, but the dim-witted guy suddenly shouted, "Hey, Uncle Ying, go save my brother first!"

Chen Xing: "That unlucky guy I saw in the woods must be my brother. Don't worry, he's not dead."

As soon as he spoke, Uncle Ying told him to hurry up and lead the way. Before long, they saw a man dressed in a wedding outfit lying unconscious next to a banana tree.

The simple-minded boy shouted for his younger brother, and Ah-hao and Ah-fang, the two brothers, rushed forward and carried him to the house outside the banana grove.

Uncle Ying looked around curiously.

"My friend, where is the banana spirit you subdued...?"

There weren't many signs of fighting around, so it didn't look like a major battle had taken place.

Chen Xing: "Of course he's dead."

"What methods did you use to subdue him?"

"With solid physical strength and a strong foundation, plus my decent physical condition, I barely managed to subdue him."

Uncle Ying looked Chen Xing up and down, feeling that something was wrong. But when he checked the surroundings, although he found traces of the banana spirit's aura, the banana spirit was gone.

That's strange, really strange.

Could it be that this person in front of me has really solved the banana spirit?

But tonight, the moon is eclipsed by a celestial dog, and the yin energy is greatly increased. This kind of demon is definitely not something an ordinary person can deal with.

"I haven't yet asked my friend's surname, where he's from, or what brings him here."

"My name is Chen Xing. I have just returned from studying abroad. I encountered a banana spirit while passing through this place, and naturally I will not let it go."

Uncle Ying nodded, but he was a little worried about Chen Xing's overseas returnee status. In this day and age, scholars are all rich people, and those who study abroad are even richer if they are not government-sponsored.

He was looking at Chen Xing's skin. It wasn't fair or rough. He wasn't the kind of scholar who hid in his room all day, but it was obvious at a glance that he hadn't done any hard work.

Perhaps he really is a wealthy international student.

Afterwards, Uncle Ying briefly introduced himself and then said, "Tonight is not peaceful, you'd better not wander around. Go check on Que Gentian first."

Chen Xing found it amusing that someone would have such a name. After asking around, he learned that it was a nickname.

Upon arriving at the house outside the banana grove, Uncle Ying's two apprentices, who were not entirely incompetent, massaged the brain-dead man's blood and qi. After a flurry of activity, they managed to wake him up.

But as soon as he woke up, he screamed in terror, "A ghost! What a terrifying female ghost!!"

He acted like he'd gone mad, jumping up and down on the bed, and then, without thinking, slapped someone across the face.

"What the hell? This is Uncle Ying! Look closely!"

His dim-witted, shifty eyes fixed on Uncle Ying, and he immediately tried to kneel down to thank him.

"Oh, don't thank me. It wasn't me who saved you. It was this young man who subdued the banana spirit."

Only then did the two brothers look at Chen Xing, who had remained silent, and express their gratitude once again.

"Thank you so much, young master, for saving my life. Otherwise, I would have been devoured by that female ghost."

The two brothers took out three large coins as a thank-you gift, while Uncle Ying and his group received six small coins as a reward for their hard work.

These are copper coins issued in the late Qing Dynasty, and they are still in circulation today. The value of one large coin is roughly between ten and twenty small coins. Chen Xing doesn't know the exact value at the moment because he has never used them and it's inconvenient for him to ask about prices now, otherwise he would be exposed.

Chen Xing accepted them all with a smile.

Taking down a banana spirit at the start and earning at least thirty coins is wonderful.

Since the banana spirit was gone, Uncle Ying and the others were about to go back. Chen Xing shamelessly followed them, brazenly saying that he had nowhere to go and begged Uncle Ying to take him in.

At this point, Ah Hao, who bore a striking resemblance to Qiu Sheng (Chin Siu-ho), spoke up: "Hey, who are you? We don't know you, why should we let you stay?"

Afang: "That's right, that's right."

Uncle Ying didn't say anything, but he still had a little zombie in his house, so how could he let outsiders move in?

However, as an elder, he couldn't speak freely, but Ah-hao did a good job.

Chen Xing handed the three large coins directly to Uncle Ying.

"As long as meals and accommodation are included, that's fine."

Uncle Ying angrily rebuked his apprentice: "How have I always taught you? When you're out and about, you must be kind to others and help each other so that society can be better. Ah Xing is out here all alone, so he should lend a hand!"

People here don't usually use real names, so Uncle Ying calls Chen Xing "A-Xing".

Uncle Ying looked heartbroken that his apprentice wasn't making money, and casually stuffed three large coins into his pocket.

"If you don't have anywhere to stay tonight, you can sleep at my place."

Then he led Chen ahead and explained some rules to him, such as that it was indeed inconvenient for outsiders to enter a certain room, etc.

Ah Hao and Ah Fang exchanged a glance, then gritted their teeth: "I knew Master valued money more than anything else!"

On the way, Uncle Ying asked, "Ah Xing, what do you think of zombies?"

Although he was only allowed to stay for one night so far, Uncle Ying still started to take precautions in case anything unexpected happened.

Chen Xing's eyes were clear, and he casually said as if chatting about everyday things, "Zombies? I've never seen one, but if a zombie harms people, it has to be killed."

"What if zombies were a good thing?"

"That's a great find. Zombies don't age, so you can raise a good one to take care of yourself in your old age. It's very cost-effective."

Uncle Ying said "Oh," and a courtyard appeared not far away.

Uncle Ying used the excuse of tidying up Chen Xing's house in advance to go inside first, seemingly to settle the little zombie.

In fact, Chen Xing was quite interested in that little zombie full of spirit.
