The Undying Immortals of the Terrifying Heavens

Chapter 23 The face-saving Uncle Ying and the shameless Chen Xing

Chen Xing was settled in the most secluded guest room, where he could easily climb over the wall and leave.

It was late at night, and Uncle Ying didn't cook anything fancy. He just brought a tomato and a rice ball for Chen Xing to eat.

tomato!?

Chen Xing looked at the tomato in his hand; he had actually eaten the same kind of tomato as the little zombie as soon as he arrived.

"Tomatoes must have been very expensive back then. Looking at it this way, although Uncle Ying is a bit petty, he's actually a very nice person."

As the tomato hit his mouth, its sour juice filled his mouth, and Chen Xing's face wrinkled slightly.

"Good heavens, are tomatoes this sour these days?"

However, Chen Xing didn't mind and quickly ate it to fill his stomach.

Lying in bed, Chen Xing looked at the ceiling with great interest and discovered that there was a Tai Chi pattern painted on the roof beam.

The first two worlds were modern societies, but this was Chen Xing's first time in an ancient society, and he felt a mix of anticipation and curiosity.

Time travel isn't just about completing missions; enjoying the scenery, people, and experiences outside of missions is also very important!

Otherwise, wouldn't that just turn them into mere task-oriented robots?

"Good, it's time to expand on this yourself!"

What places are there for entertainment in this day and age... brothels?

That's not as fun as a modern KTV or bathhouse.

Chen Xing shook his head in rejection, but then he remembered the story of the Taoist with One Eyebrow, in which there was a female ghost who was murdered in a brothel.

Given the current time, it's unclear whether the woman is dead or not.

Brothels? Places that oppress women and force them into prostitution—how much resentment must they harbor!

If I encounter a few female ghosts, wouldn't I be...?

"Oh dear, it seems I'll have to go to a brothel tomorrow."

Actually, Chen Xing didn't like that kind of place, but he had to go there to save people.

As the saying goes, saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. If I don't go to hell, who will?

As he was thinking, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a small head peeking out of the window paper, peering at something.

"Um?"

As soon as Chen Xing turned his head, that little head instantly shrank back.

"Huh? Could it be?" The image of a little guy instantly appeared in Chen Xing's mind.

He had just gotten out of bed, intending to go see her, when he suddenly stopped in his tracks: "Never mind, there's plenty of time later. It's a bit too deliberate now."

He was thinking this, but to his surprise, as soon as he lay down, the little head in the window peeked out again.

Chen Xing suddenly spoke up: "Little friend, aren't you coming in?"

Suddenly, a frantic jumping sound came from outside the window; the little zombie had run away.

Immediately afterwards, Uncle Ying's reproachful voice came out. He kept his voice very low, but Chen Xing still heard it.

"Oh dear, I told you not to come out. It wouldn't be good if the moon shone on you. And also, don't let the guests see you."

Upon hearing this, Chen Xing suddenly had an idea. He quickly stood up and shouted, "Oh dear, I need to pee! I need to take a dump first!"

His voice carried outside, and Uncle Ying immediately panicked and shooed the little zombie away to hide.

Chen Xing appeared almost exactly the second after the little zombie had hidden itself. He asked knowingly, "Uncle Ying, I think I heard you talking to someone just now."

Uncle Ying stood alone in the courtyard, coughed lightly, and looked at the moon with his hands behind his back, trying to appear refined.

Upon hearing Chen Xing's words, his expression visibly stiffened, and a look of panic flashed in his eyes.

Oh no, I should have known better than to charge those three large sums of money!

"It's Ah Xing! There's someone talking over there. I was just singing."

As he spoke, in order to deceive Chen Xing, Uncle Ying immediately adopted the posture of performing opera, pinching his pinky fingers and speaking softly.

Meanwhile, the little zombie was still hiding in the corner, cautiously peeking. Chen Xing's eyes flashed, and he suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

"Uncle Ying, there seems to be something over there. A stray cat has gotten into your house."

As he spoke, he started to walk in that direction.

Uncle Ying, seeing this, was alarmed and quickly came over: "What stray cat? Nothing like that. Didn't you need to use the toilet? Hey, the toilet's over there, I'll take you there, come on, come on."

After Chen Xing finished using the toilet, he didn't go back. Instead, he strolled around the yard, telling Uncle Ying that he was admiring the moon. Every time he walked, the direction he went was exactly where the little zombie was.

Uncle Ying had no choice but to go and cover for him again. He was exhausted after a whole night of this. He thought to himself that money was hard to earn and life was tough, so he decided to just return the three dollars and let the kid go.

Just as he was having this thought, Chen Xing suddenly stopped taking a walk.

"Goodnight, Uncle Ying. You have dark circles under your eyes. Go to sleep early."

Uncle Ying rubbed his eyes, his face full of exasperation.

.......

Chen Xing didn't sleep all night. He had rested up before coming to this world and hadn't adjusted to the time difference yet.

At this moment, he was sweating profusely in the room, repeatedly doing push-ups, squats, and burpees, and even using furniture for weight training to improve his physical strength.

Ordinary people don't need to train every day or every few days, or maintain a balanced diet. Chen Xing doesn't need any of that!

He can practice non-stop for 24 hours.

As dawn broke, the doorbell rang. Chen Xing opened it and was greeted by Uncle Ying, who had dark circles under his eyes.

Uncle Ying gave a forced smile: "Ah Xing, wouldn't you like to have breakfast before you leave?"

Chen Xing was slightly out of breath, his body covered in sweat: "No, Uncle Ying, I have something to do today."

Upon hearing this, Uncle Ying's eyes lit up, and he immediately said politely, "Oh, actually it's not bad to have you stay a couple more days. Since you still have..."

Before he could finish speaking, Chen Xingfei quickly interjected, "That's great! Then stay a few more days. Thank you for taking me in, Uncle Ying. Uncle Ying truly lives up to his reputation as a great general of Maoshan; he's so kind-hearted, generous, and broad-minded. He's incredibly kind and righteous!"

"Oh, this..."

Uncle Ying's face immediately stiffened. What was wrong with this person? Didn't he know that social interactions required politeness? According to the script, he should have said, "No need, no need, thank you for your trouble, Uncle Ying."

That's right!

Before Uncle Ying could speak, Chen Xing quickly slipped out, leaving behind the words, "Uncle Ying, I'm going to take a shower first."

Uncle Ying stood there, his face contorted in a grimace, and lightly patted his mouth three times: "Serves you right for being so talkative! Why are you being so polite!"

That being said, I couldn't bring myself to do anything like kicking them out...

"Forget it, he'll leave eventually. I refuse to believe this kid is that shameless!"

Meanwhile, Chen Xing quickly took a shower. Since his clothes had been torn to shreds by the banana spirit the night before, he borrowed a set of clothes from Ah Hao.

"Ah-Hing, where are you going?" Ah-Hao asked.

"Go to a brothel."

"What!" Ah Hao's eyes widened. He quickly grabbed Chen Xing's sleeve and looked around to make sure that Uncle Ying was not there.

Then Ah Hao lowered his voice and whispered, "You don't know this place well, I'm afraid you'll get ripped off, let's go together."

Chen Xing raised an eyebrow and stared at the other person without saying a word.

Soon, Ah Hao couldn't hold back anymore: "I was wrong, I was wrong. I've never been to a brothel before. Brother Xing, please take me to see the world. Master has always forbidden us from going."

Chen Xing finally nodded, and as he walked to the door, another apprentice, A Fang, appeared.

"Ha, I heard everything. You guys are actually going to a place like that."

Chen Xing: "?"

"I'm going to keep an eye on Ah-hao!" Ah-fang puffed out his chest, his face full of righteousness, as if he really intended to do so.

Chen Xing didn't care; he was going to see the female ghost anyway: "Let's go together then."
