My Hogwarts has a serious problem.

Chapter 39. Be a little more normal.

Chapter 39. Be Normal

After determining that there was no danger, Lynn and Cedric climbed out of the secret passage together.

Looking at the werewolf sitting quietly under the tree, gazing indifferently at them, Cedric whispered in Lynn's ear.

"He doesn't seem to be going berserk. Could it be that we're wrong, and he's not actually a werewolf?"

Lynn rolled her eyes.

"What else could it be but a werewolf? A dog-man?"

They thought their voices were very quiet, but they didn't notice that Ian, sitting under the tree, twitched his ears, and his wolf face turned somewhat dark.

"Should we go over and say hello to him first?" Cedric was now completely subservient to Lynn.

Lynn certainly wouldn't refuse; his mission required him to speak with Ian.

They cautiously approached Ian, maintaining a safe distance of about ten meters, and then Lynn gave him a polite smile and waved.

"Hi!"

But Ian didn't seem to want to talk to him, still looking at them with cold eyes and showing no friendliness whatsoever.

"I think you may have forgotten me." Lynn tried to get close to Ian, bringing up the only connection between the two of them.

"We shared a compartment on the train to Hogwarts, and I introduced myself to you. My name is Lynn Bellocchio."

Ian did not speak.

"You don't need to introduce yourself. I remember your name from the Sorting Ceremony, Ian Campbell, right? And you were sorted into Ravenclaw. Honestly, I knew you were incredibly smart the first time I saw you."

Ian did not speak.

"What state are you in right now? Are you in werewolf form? You're actually able to maintain your sanity, oh! You're really amazing!"

Ian did not speak.

"The moonlight is beautiful tonight, and your transformation is truly impressive! It would be even more impressive if you could chat with me!"

Before Ian could speak, his gaze had already shifted from indifference to the look of someone looking at a lunatic.

Even Cedric was getting fed up with Lynn; he had never seen Lynn engage in such cheesy, awkward conversations with anyone before.

Even with his thick skin, Lynn was now furious. If it weren't for the system's mission to chat with this wolf cub, would he have had to put up with this indifference?

"Does becoming a werewolf mean you become mute?! Can't you even say a word?! Even if you can't speak human language, a wolf howl would do the trick!"

Ian didn't howl, but he finally spoke up because Lynn annoyed him.

"Can you please be quiet for a moment?"

As soon as he opened his mouth, Lynn's face lit up with surprise, but then his expression fell.

[Task 1 Completed!]

[Constitution attribute unlocked, Constitution +1]

[Mission 2 unlocked: Gain the friendship of the werewolf Ian.]

[Reward: Constitution +3]

It's already so hard to get this wolf cub to speak, yet you want to be friends with him?

In contrast, he would much rather the system give him a task like feeding Professor McGonagall dried fish or pulling Dumbledore's beard.

But that little bit of physical attribute is just too good to pass up!

After receiving the reward of physique attribute points, Lynn could clearly feel the changes in his body.

His five senses were enhanced, his body became stronger, his breathing became longer and more even, and even his heart felt like it was beating more powerfully than before.

This evolutionary thrill fascinated Lynn.

How should a mage allocate skill points?

Lynn can now give a clear answer: adding points to spirit or intelligence is a heretical path! Only adding points to constitution and attack is the right way!

Aren't true sorcerers all about wielding their wands to smash the skulls of their enemies?

Besides lighting, what other uses can magic have?

Almost instantly, Lynn made up his mind.

To become a true mage, and for those tempting three points of physical attributes, he was determined to make Ian his friend!

He sat cross-legged in front of Ian, a sickeningly sweet smile on his face that made Cedric sick, and spoke tenderly.

"Campbell, don't be so heartless. Look how nice the weather is today. You startled us too. It's not too much to ask that you chat with us to make it up to us, is it?"

"Ugh!" came a sound of dry heaving from Cedric's side.

Even Ian became somewhat uneasy, feeling that Lynn was either mentally unstable or had a problem with his sexual orientation.

Their behavior made Lynn lose face. He glared at Cedric, wanting him to explain his earlier vomiting.

"Be normal, Lynn. You're scaring me." Cedric's face was pale; he seemed genuinely frightened by Lynn's earlier behavior.

Lynn is indeed not very good at making friends with strangers, especially when the other party does not take the initiative.

He coughed twice to ease his embarrassment, then spoke to Cedric.

"It's already past ten o'clock, which is exactly the time when Filch is patrolling the castle most diligently. Why don't we sit here for a while? This Campbell must be quite bored by himself. It would be nice if we could keep him company and let him look at the stars and the moon or something."

Before Cedric could speak, Ian couldn't help but speak first.

"I don't find it boring, I just find you a bit noisy."

"Nonsense! You're just plain boring!"

Ian resisted the urge to go up and give Lynn a bite, choosing silently not to argue with him.

Cedric also thought Lynn's words made a lot of sense.

This is the time when Castle Keeper Filch is patrolling most strictly; if they go back now and get caught, they certainly won't tell the truth.

Ian was able to enroll as a werewolf, which must have been with the tacit approval of Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall. This brings to mind Professor McGonagall's reaction when the Auror named Kingsley said he wanted to investigate him.

They certainly don't want the secret that Ian is a werewolf to become known throughout the school. Even if he is a special werewolf who still retains his rationality after transforming, there will definitely be panic among the young wizards, and the parents will definitely put pressure on Dumbledore!

So Cedric also sat cross-legged on the ground, forming a triangle with Lynn and Ian.

"Why did you transform outside the secret passage just now? Didn't you have time to go in?"

Compared to Lynn, Cedric gave Ian a more normal impression, so although his tone was still somewhat cold, he did answer Ian's question.

"I misjudged the weather today. The moon was too bright. The transformation started ahead of schedule as soon as I opened the secret passage."

His answer only made Cedric more puzzled. His knowledge of werewolves mostly came from books, and he had never seen Ian in this situation.

"May I ask, was you bitten by another werewolf before you became a werewolf?"

This time, Ian did not answer.

He looked up at the bright, full moon in the sky, remaining silent.

After a long pause, he finally gave an irrelevant answer.

"I hope you can help me keep my secret."

Lynn and Cedric exchanged a glance, and without much hesitation, they answered in unison.

"Of course, no problem."
