From the Soul Motion Machine onwards, the Mechanized Douluo

Chapter 97 A Merciful Trade in Soul Beasts! [Please Subscribe! Please Vote!]

The Star Dou Great Forest is located southeast of Soto City, in the central part of the Douluo Continent. Surrounded by mountains and dense vegetation, it is the largest soul beast forest on the entire continent.

It is said to contain the world's most diverse range of soul beasts and a vast soul beast ecosystem.

Rumor has it that in the most mysterious center of the Star Dou Great Forest, there lives a legendary 100,000-year-old soul beast. Of course, that is not the target of Chen Hong and his group's soul hunting.

Tang San, Xiao Wu, Oscar, and others need a thousand-year soul ring at the initial thousand-year level, while Chen Hong only needs a simple hundred-year soul ring.

After a day of long-distance cycling, the Shrek group started on cement roads and dirt roads, and then went straight to some country lanes. The ten soul-powered vehicles shuttled across the fields, startling countless small animals that fled in all directions. Finally, they arrived at a soul master town near the Star Dou Great Forest and prepared to take a short rest.

The arrival of Shrek Academy's motorcycle convoy brought a touch of vitality to the Soul Hunter Town, and every now and then, Soul Master teams would cast curious and greedy glances at Shrek Academy's group.

After arriving at Soul Hunter Town, as dusk approached, Chen Hong held a public auction in the town square for the ten Soul Engine vehicles that were inconvenient to enter the Star Dou Great Forest.

This caused quite a stir in the Soul Hunter Town. However, with two high-level Soul Masters, Zhao Wuji and Ning Quan, in charge, the auction of the Soul Motorcycle went very smoothly. Chen Hong collected a large number of hundred-year-old and thousand-year-old Soul Beast corpses from many Soul Master teams.

The Technology Chamber of Commerce's latest off-road motorcycles opened up the market, while also reaping a large number of fresh soul beast corpses—a win-win situation!

"So we came here to deliver goods to you?" After the auction, Zhao Wuji couldn't help but complain as he looked at Chen Hong, who had amassed a large number of soul beast corpses. He had originally thought that the wealthy young master of the Tech Chamber of Commerce would give each of them a Soul Motion Off-Road Motorcycle, but look what happened—they hadn't even had a chance to ride the motorcycles properly before they were sold. They'd have to throw two hams back with them.

Chen Hong simply smiled and didn't offer any further explanation. Soul-Moving off-road motorcycles were plentiful; what was truly scarce in Chen Hong's eyes were the fresh soul beast corpses in the hands of the soul masters in this Soul Hunting Town.

"What do you need the corpses of soul beasts for?"

After Chen Hong found the Seven Treasures Merchant Guild's stronghold inside the Soul Hunting Town, he handed over the soul beast corpses he had collected to them for safekeeping and also asked them to help him continue collecting soul beast corpses. When Chen Hong returned to the inn where the Shrek group was staying in the town with Ning Quan, Xiao Wu, who was sitting in a circle in the corner of the inn's lobby, suddenly spoke up.

Chen Hong glanced at Xiao Wu, who had asked the question, with some curiosity. He hadn't expected that Xiao Wu, rather than Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and the others, would be the most interested in his behavior of buying up soul beast corpses. Well, they were also curious, but Xiao Wu had asked the question first.

Chen Hong led Ning Quan through a group of young Soul Masters and sat down at the wooden table where the Shrek Academy group was.

Along the way, Ning Quan was the most eye-catching person behind Chen Hong, attracting a lot of attention. Almost every Soul Master who passed by Ning Quan would be slightly stunned, and then suddenly turn around to look at Ning Quan, feeling a chill run down their spine.

As a hidden perk, Chen Hong took Ning Quan outside, and the latter's intimidating presence even surpassed that of many Soul Saints.

Many Soul Masters didn't even "see" Ning Quan at first glance. It wasn't until Ning Quan came into their sight that they suddenly realized with fear that this was such a powerful Soul Master senior.

Because Ning Quan's sword intent cultivation was so profound that it gave people a sense of subtlety, as long as he did not actively reveal his soul rings, many soul masters almost suspected that Ning Quan was a titled Douluo, and addressed him as "senior, senior".

"It's definitely for research purposes. We can use it to study cooking, clothing, and soul tools. In short, I think it has great research value."

Chen Hong sat down with Ning Quan not far from Xiao Wu, and then smiled at her.

Soul beast meat can be used to make dishes, its fur can be used to make clothes, and its bones and blood can perhaps be used to make soul tools? Chen Hong didn't quite understand, which is why he wanted to study it.

Otherwise, given Chen Hong's personality, he wouldn't have traveled so far to this Soul Hunter Town to hunt for Soul Rings. He was thinking that he might be able to start a benevolent Soul Beast trade in these Soul Master towns, so he specifically came to investigate the situation before agreeing to travel with the Shrek Seven Devils.

Why is it a benevolent trade in soul beasts?

Because after Soul Masters hunt Soul Beasts, most of the beast's body is discarded, except for a few valuable pelts and meat from specific species. Now, Chen Hong is giving these Soul Master hunters more income and avoiding waste, so it can be considered a good thing.

To everyone's surprise, after hearing Chen Hong's explanation, Xiao Wu's previously calm and composed face suddenly paled slightly, and she couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Ah?! You...?!"

Xiao Wu looked at Chen Hong, who had an innocent expression, with a hint of fear on her face. "You've been talking for so long, but you still can't come up with anything."

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Chen Hong asked, somewhat puzzled.

I don't think I said anything particularly offensive, did I? Why is Xiao Wu acting like this?

Is it

"I forgot that rabbits are vegetarians, but it's okay. I'll try to collect plant-type soul beasts too. Hmm... maybe I can even grow them?" Chen Hong suddenly thought of the vigorous vitality of plant-type soul beasts. Maybe it really could work?

As for not cooperating?

Hmm. What are you saying? You think you can just stop cooperating just because it says it won't? You think you really won't want it just because it says it doesn't?

Um, correction—it.

Although it's somewhat sinister, many technological advancements inevitably require sacrifices. Chen Hong can only guarantee that he will treat life with kindness, rather than engaging in meaningless killing. He won't be like those who, for example, slaughter all the soul beasts in a certain place simply because they are deemed evil.

Chen Hong has mastered the Sage's Divine Runes. His creation of a Spirit Injection Rod with two completely opposite effects demonstrates his profound understanding of the Sage's Divine Runes originating from his own Soul Rings. He can not only use them correctly, but also in reverse.

It can both concentrate the will and strengthen the mind, and also explode the will and suppress the mind.

The plant-like spirit beasts' lack of cooperation stems from their lack of 'mindfulness'.

So if we temporarily remove 'mindfulness' and rely solely on life instincts, there is no question of non-cooperation.

Because the instinct of life is to live.

Hmm. Chen Hong felt like he was becoming more and more evil?

Indeed, excessive biological research can affect one's mind.

However, having only mastered mechanical engineering in his previous life, he had no experience in biology to draw upon and could only rely on hands-on practice.
