Chapter 68 Tsunade Borrows Money

Hearing the noise, Chiga and Kushina poked their heads out of the window.

"It's Tsunade, the one you often call the Legendary Sannin."

Kushina turned to Chiga and said.

Chiga nodded.

Since Tsunade's lover and younger brother died on the battlefield, Tsunade's mentality has changed, and she has also developed hemophobia.

He spends every day either gambling or drinking.

Chiga initially thought Tsunade had already left the village, but then she realized that Shizune was still studying at the Ninja Academy. It seemed that Tsunade was waiting for Shizune to graduate before taking her away with her.

Kushina then said to Chiga, "When she comes in later, you absolutely mustn't provoke her, don't say anything out of line, and don't look around. She doesn't have my good temper!"

"Kushina-sensei, the Anbu are blocking the door. Lady Tsunade won't get in so easily."

Chiga rolled her eyes at Kushina. If you had a good temper, would you have earned the title of "Red Hot Chili Pepper" in Konoha?

"Oh!"

Kushina glanced at Chiga dismissively and said, "You think too highly of the Anbu!"

Just then, Tsunade, probably tired of hearing the Anbu's words, frowned and punched the wall.

A large pit about one meter in diameter suddenly appeared in the wall, and spider web-like cracks spread out.

The ANBU member was wearing a mask, so Chiga couldn't see his face, but he could clearly see the ANBU member's entire body tremble, then he took a step back and respectfully addressed Tsunade.

"Lady Tsunade, please!"

"Hmph, you should have done this earlier! You've wasted my time!"

Tsunade snorted coldly and walked into Kushina's residence.

"Kushina-sensei, you're nowhere near as good as her."

Chiga was also dumbfounded. He remembered that in the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi had confidently stated that the Anbu would not accept any threats.

He really wanted to come here and see if the Anbu could accept threats, just like he had beheaded Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Kushina replied expressionlessly, "I'm only doing this out of respect for the Third Hokage; otherwise, I would have already beaten up this ANBU!"

Although Kushina believed she was no match for Tsunade, she couldn't afford to lose face in front of her disciple.

Now that Tsunade had passed the Anbu guards at the door, Kushina led Chiga to the door and opened it for Tsunade.

Chiga looked up slightly, but couldn't see Tsunade's face, and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

This thing could easily support a football team.

At this moment, Tsunade seemed to still smell of alcohol.

With a slightly flushed face, she walked into Kushina's room. Before she could even speak to Kushina, she had already noticed Chiga.

"Huh, I thought the person in your room was that kid Minato, how come it's such a little brat?"

Tsunade looked down at Chiga and asked in surprise.

She hadn't paid attention to village affairs for a long time, so she didn't know that Kushina had taken on a disciple.

"Tsunade-neechan, this is Uchiha Chika, my student!"

Kushina placed her hand on Chiga's head and introduced him to Tsunade with a smile.

"Hmm? A disciple? And from the Uchiha clan? What are you thinking?"

Upon hearing this, Tsunade was slightly taken aback, then her brows furrowed.

"I didn't think much about it, I just felt a strong connection with Chika when I saw him."

Kushina replied.

"Is that so?"

Although Tsunade had never received explicit instructions from the Konoha leadership, she had long since decided in her heart who the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki was.

Therefore, it was surprising that Kushina would accept members of the Uchiha clan as her disciples.

But she quickly returned to normal. She was about to leave the village anyway, so why should she think about so much?

At that moment, Kushina said with a smile, "Tsunade-neechan, you've come at just the right time! I just finished cooking, shall we sit down and eat together?"

"good!"

Tsunade's eyes lit up immediately upon hearing this. "Do you have any wine?"

"Yes, it's on the counter."

Although Kushina always strictly adhered to the three prohibitions of ninjas, she still needed to be prepared in terms of etiquette when receiving guests.

After eating and drinking her fill, Tsunade sprawled out rather unladylike.

Tsunade smiled and said to Kushina, "Kushina, you're really good at managing a household! Your cooking is delicious too. It seems Minato is in for a treat!"

Kushina blushed slightly, but didn't refute, instead asking, "Tsunade-neechan, what brings you here today?"

Seeing that they were getting to the point, Tsunade's expression immediately changed. She sat up straight and said to Kushina, "Um... do you have money?"

"Ah, Tsunade-neechan, you came all this way just for this?! Then why did you tell that the Anbu you had something important to discuss?"

Kushina's face immediately fell.

Tsunade replied matter-of-factly, "Of course this is important! If things keep going like this, I'll be so poor I'll have to go to nightclubs to make a living!"

"If Tsunade-neechan went to work at a nightclub, that pervert Jiraiya would definitely be there to support her!"

Kushina retorted.

"I'll go too!" Chiga silently added in her mind.

In her desperate attempt to borrow money, Tsunade's skin had become incredibly thick. Completely ignoring Kushina's complaints, she instead appeared pitiful.

"So, Kushina, you don't want to see me being bullied by Jiraiya, right?"

Chiga and Kushina: "." You got it backwards, didn't you?

Kushina was silent for a moment, then sighed helplessly and said, "Okay, I understand."

Since Tsunade has put it this way, Kushina couldn't possibly let Tsunade go hungry.

Kushina got up and took out a large stack of silver notes from her private vault, handing them to Tsunade.

Chiga glanced at it briefly and estimated it to be around three million taels.

He looked at Kushina in surprise, not expecting his teacher to be so wealthy.

They gave away those three million taels without even blinking an eye.

Kushina handed the money to Tsunade and solemnly said, "Tsunade-neechan, this three million ryo is for you to use, not for gambling!"

"Yes, I'll wager one million taels."

How could Tsunade possibly listen to Kushina's advice? She already had the money; how she spent it was entirely up to her.

"Tsunade-neechan!"

"Oh, Kushina, don't worry, I have a feeling I'll win every bet today, and I'll pay you back with interest."

"I shouldn't have given you the money!"

Kushina was helpless upon hearing this.

Kushina remained unmoved by Tsunade's confidence; she was willing to give... yes, give!

Tsunade said it was a loan, but she never paid back any of the money she borrowed.

Kushina was able to give Tsunade so much money because of her close relationship with Tsunade. She was able to live a carefree life in the village largely because of Tsunade's care.

"Now that the important matters have been taken care of, I should take my leave. I won't disturb your conversation any longer!"

Now that she had the money, Tsunade's gaze towards Chiga had softened considerably.
