Chapter 242 Killing the Chicken to Warn the Monkey

Ning Yuan has always been a person who is mindful of potential dangers even in times of peace.

What does it mean to be prepared for danger even in times of peace?

It means being prepared for the Ning organization to be exposed and attacked by all other countries.

Therefore, the Ning organization has never only researched ninjutsu and forbidden techniques, but also explosive tags; firearms are also part of their research.

In the early years, due to a shortage of talent and the need for secrecy, the Ning organization concentrated a large number of scientists in Yanjing, in the research institute next door.

This research institute not only studies forbidden ninjutsu and medical ninjutsu, but also gunpowder, rockets, propulsion fuels, and TNT.

The firing range is the site where these firearms are tested.

Previously, the shooting range could only shoot at mud and artificial structures, and at most, a few White Zetsu would come over to assist with the experiments. This was the first time they had ever shot at a Tailed Beast.

Therefore, as soon as Ning Yuan mentioned that there might be tailed beasts participating in the experiment today, the scientists in the military research department immediately brought out all the medium and long-range weapons they had developed over the past five years, just so they could have a good fight today!

The first thing to greet Nine-Tails was the AN-06 vehicle-mounted rocket launcher!

If we start from scratch, it might not be possible to build a rocket launcher in five years.

But with a time traveler like Ning Yuan around, even if he doesn't participate, just providing scientists with a research direction can greatly reduce their research time.

Many of Ning's technologies were developed in this way. Inventions that would normally take decades or even centuries to mature could be drawn up in their final form by Ning Yuan, thus eliminating countless intermediate steps.

The same applies to this vehicle-mounted rocket launcher. The vehicle carrying the rockets is a Yanning automobile manufactured by the First Automobile Works of Yanjing. The rocket launchers on the back of the vehicle have two rows, with twelve launch rails in each row, and can launch 24 rockets at a time.

The AN-06 rocket launcher has a combat range of 14 kilometers and a maximum range of 417 kilometers. It is equipped with 128mm TW-01 rockets, and the rockets can reach a speed of 376 m/s, which is beyond the speed of sound.

What is supersonic speed?

The attack had already hit me before I heard a sound!

The same was true for the Nine-Tailed Fox; by the time it heard the whistling sound of the rocket, a violent explosion had already taken place on its body.

It is worth noting that Ning Yuan deliberately guided the Nine-Tailed Fox's position to facilitate the aiming of the rocket launchers. In addition, the Nine-Tailed Fox was so huge that all 24 rockets hit their targets!

As for the outcome?

Ning Yuan heard a shrill scream as 24 large craters, each over 2 meters in diameter, exploded on the Nine-Tails' body. A rocket even hit the Nine-Tails' leg, causing its thigh to be blown apart!

"This is the Nine-Tails? Its reaction speed and defense aren't that great!" A voice appeared in Ning Yuan's ear; it was Minato Namikaze.

The legend of the Nine-Tailed Fox was quite popular in Konoha Village, especially during the Second Shinobi World War, when Mito Uzumaki used the Tailed Beast Ball to destroy the Sky Fortress of the Sky Village, a scene that left a very deep impression on the young Minato Namikaze.

Furthermore, Hashirama's original intention was to use the nine tailed beasts to promote world peace.

This led everyone in the ninja world to believe that the nine tailed beasts were extremely powerful and that ordinary people simply could not fight against them.

But now...

Looking at the screaming Nine-Tails in front of him, Minato was somewhat bewildered. Was this really the legendary Nine-Tails that could wreak havoc on the world?

He had personally experienced the power of rocket launchers, of course, using a clone.

Rocket artillery is indeed powerful; the explosive force of a single rocket is comparable to that of 40 Blue Sky Detonating Tags exploding simultaneously. Moreover, the metal fragments produced when a rocket explodes can cause secondary damage.

However, the rocket launcher has such a long range that even at high speed, it would take more than ten seconds to travel to hit a person.

In those ten or so seconds, Shuimen would have already run away.

Although he is known for his reaction speed, Nine-Tailed Fox is still a fox, and a fox's reaction speed should not be slow!

"The Nine-Tails' reaction speed?" Ning Yuan recalled the Nine-Tails in the original story who was kicked out of the village by Hiruzen Sarutobi's staff, and said, "It's really not that fast. It couldn't even dodge Hiruzen Sarutobi's staff. Besides, foxes are canines, and canines aren't known for their reaction speed!"

"And not only is his reaction speed slow, his defense doesn't seem very strong either!"

Looking at the large hole blasted into Nine-Tails' body, Ning Yuan continued to comment, "But its regenerative ability seems pretty good!"

An ordinary fox, even one hundred meters tall, would bleed to death from such an explosion, but the Nine-Tails is a creation of chakra, and it can even curse!

"Damn it, Ning Yuan, what did you use?!"

Ning Yuan ignored him and instead pulled out a walkie-talkie from his pocket: "Change to armor-piercing rounds!"

Armor-piercing projectiles have an inverted V-shaped hollow metal triangular cone on the warhead. When the gunpowder explodes, the molten metal is ejected in a jet due to the energy focusing effect.

This metal jet has an extremely high rate of fire and destructive power, capable of penetrating steel plates nearly 400mm thick, and is therefore mainly used to counter tank armor.

After mounting a hollow-charge armor-piercing projectile onto a rocket, the rocket gains anti-ship capability. While a single rocket might not be able to penetrate the deck of an aircraft carrier, it can certainly penetrate the armor of a light frigate or destroyer.

Right now, Ning Yuan is using shells designed to fight metal warships to attack the Nine-Tailed Fox!

Because of the hollow propellant, the rocket's mass is reduced, and its flight speed is increased significantly again, reaching 427 m/s!

The Nine-Tails had just recovered from the last explosion when the next wave of rockets arrived!

boom!

The Nine-Tails' screams had become hoarse. This time, there were no huge craters on his body, but orange-red chakra was blasted out from the other end of his body!

In other words, the Nine-Tailed Fox, which is over 70 meters tall and over 20 meters wide, was pierced through!

"Hiss!" The other Jinchūriki standing at a distance from the shooting range, along with the Three-Tailed Isobu, watched this scene silently, a chill running through their hearts.

That's a nine-tailed fox!

Although none of the nine tailed beasts submit to the others, they actually know who is the strongest.

Not only is the Nine-Tails the strongest and has the most chakra, but its defense also ranks second among the nine tailed beasts!

The first one is the three-tailed Isobu, covered in tortoise shell.

And now, the Nine-Tails is beaten to this state. If it were any of the other creatures...

Even the Three-Tailed Isobu felt a little uneasy seeing this scene. Could my tortoise shell withstand these strange weapons?

The key is that the Nine-Tails has a very strong regenerative ability. Even if its body is blown through, it can still slowly recover. I don't have such a strong regenerative ability. If my body is blown through, wouldn't I die on the spot?

"Awoo..." The Nine-Tails' screams had become somewhat hoarse.

"Isn't that too cruel?" Kushina walked over and asked in a low voice.

Although she and Kurama didn't get along very well and often argued, they had spent so much time together that they still had some feelings for each other.

"If it's too cruel to fight it, then what about fighting other tailed beasts?" Ning Yuan laughed. "The Nine-Tails will only feel pain for a short while, but other tailed beasts might die!"

"Uh!" Kushina shook her head. "Then let's fight the Nine-Tails!"

Tailed beasts are not so easy to subdue. They have lived for thousands of years and have witnessed countless dark aspects of humanity. Even if you try to reason with them, they will think you are lying to them.

Naruto was able to successfully talk Kurama into submission not because his reasoning was particularly good, but because they had spent over a decade together, and Kurama had come to deeply understand Naruto.

Furthermore, the imminent threat of the Ten-Tails created a foundation of trust between the human and the fox.

Even after things have come to this point, the two of them still need the help of the Hidden Cloud Village's real waterfall to completely let go of their grudges.

Ningyuan doesn't have that much time to waste with the Nine-Tailed Fox.

And even if he did have the time, there are so many other things he could do with it, why would he spend it chasing after a fox?

If this were the Eightfold Divine Child, it wouldn't be a problem, but this is a male fox.

So, if you don't want to use words, you might as well just use force to suppress them.

Moreover, the fact that the Nine-Tails was beaten while the other eight tailed beasts watched was also intended to make an example of it.

If any of the tailed beasts harbors rebellious thoughts, before causing trouble, they should first consider what the Nine-Tails suffered today and whether they can withstand the rocket attack!

As the smoke and dust cleared, the screaming Nine-Tailed Fox gradually revealed its form.

His body was still enormous, but it was covered in pits and dents, making him look terrifying.

The Nine-Tails' flowing chakra, like blood, is covering the wound, and it seems that it won't be long before it recovers.

However, those with keen senses could notice that the Nine-Tails' recovery speed had slowed down considerably.

Moreover, the Nine-Tails' chakra, which was originally orange-red, is now gradually turning golden.

"Is this a way of using a portion of its power in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode?" Ning Yuan recognized the Nine-Tails' actions.

The Nine-Tails has many tricks up its sleeve. Aside from the universal Tailed Beast Ball, it also has a Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

This technique isn't just about lending your chakra to a Jinchuriki to create a perfect Jinchuriki; it can also be used with a single Tailed Beast.

The only difference is that the person controlling the energy has changed from the Jinchūriki to the Tailed Beast itself, so it requires more mental effort.

Tailed beasts are simple-minded, so they don't like this kind of technique and don't usually use it. But now that they're about to die, they have to use it no matter how tired they are.

"Lord Ningyuan?" The scientist at the rear activated the walkie-talkie and asked, "Should we continue the attack?"

"Switch to armor-piercing rounds!" Ning Yuan, seeing that the Nine-Tails' chakra was fully formed, decisively waved his hand: "Fire!"

Armor-piercing projectiles are different from armor-piercing projectiles. Armor-piercing projectiles use a hollow charge to deliver a metal jet that penetrates armor.

Armor-piercing projectiles utilize the inherent strength of the projectile itself to penetrate armor.

Ningyuan knew that depleted uranium armor-piercing projectiles were the best performing armor-piercing projectiles, but the prospecting team in Guining had not yet found uranium ore, so the armor-piercing projectiles manufactured by the military industry were tungsten-core armor-piercing projectiles.

The armor-piercing shell is 155mm in diameter and is fired from a 155mm howitzer. However, this howitzer is not the kind that is placed on the ground, but was rammed onto a tank. This type of weapon is called a self-propelled howitzer.

In actual tests, this armor-piercing projectile can penetrate 400mm of metal armor or 5 meters of concrete wall. If used to attack the ground, it can penetrate more than ten meters underground.

The Nine-Tails Chakra Mode is extremely comprehensive. The golden chakra it produces has extremely strong defensive capabilities, greatly enhancing the Nine-Tails' own strength and speed, as well as its perception.

In this state, the Nine-Tails is essentially fully enhanced.

However, having already been hit by two waves of shells, the Nine-Tails had developed a psychological aversion to this strange weapon. Faced with incoming shells, it preferred to dodge rather than test its power with its Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

Even so, he was still hit by several armor-piercing bullets.

And just as he had guessed, the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode was indeed unable to defend against these strange weapons, and was pierced through again!

"Awooo!!!" Nine-Tails screamed again, then braced itself and glared fiercely at Ning Yuan.

He understood, of course, that as long as Ning Yuan was still alive, the attacks would not stop.

To catch the thief, you must first catch the king. If he doesn't want to continue being beaten, he must launch an attack on Ningyuan.

Even if we can't take him down right away, we must drag him into the center of the battlefield!

but!

When the Nine-Tailed Fox's perception fully covered Ning Yuan, it was suddenly surprised to find that Ning Yuan had no ill intentions towards it at all!

Not only was there no malice, but it also seemed to have an extremely large amount of goodwill?

"Wait, how is this possible? My sense of good and evil is broken?" For a moment, Nine-Tails was bewildered.

I've been beaten up like this, and you suddenly tell me that you meant well for me?

So, using those weird weapons to hit me was actually for my own good?

How could that be? How could there be such a person in this world!

"As expected of Ning Yuan!" Nine-Tailed Fox immediately became much more cautious. He believed that his sense of good and evil was definitely not bad, and there was no one in the world who had good intentions but deliberately hurt others.

So where does the problem lie?

Of course, it was Ning Yuan's fault!

He actually used a mysterious ninjutsu to interfere with my senses!

"This child must not be allowed to live!" Nine-Tails roared. This person is too much of a threat to us tailed beasts. Even if it costs us our lives, we must kill him!

"Roar!" The Nine-Tailed Fox's tail suddenly extended and swiftly attacked Ning Yuan.

This is also the function of the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, which allows one to freely extend their chakra for offense, defense, and support.

It's like eating a Nika fruit.

Coupled with that golden light all over his body, he's even more nika than Nika.

Ning Yuan stood still, not even attempting to form hand seals for defense. Instead, he picked up the walkie-talkie again: "Napalm bombs, one ton!"

Rockets, armor-piercing rounds, and even armor-piercing rounds don't seem to do much damage to the Nine-Tails.

This piqued Ning Yuan's curiosity.

So what kind of weapon is effective against the Nine-Tails?
