Chapter 34 Ryuchi Cave Contract

When Uchiha Hiyu entered the command center, he saw Orochimaru with a serious expression, dealing with a mountain of scroll documents.

The entire ninja front, numbering several thousand, was mostly dispersed into small teams of four to a dozen people to carry out various infiltration operations, making their actual work far more complicated than that of ordinary troops.

Compared to Jiraiya and Tsunade, if we disregard personality factors, Orochimaru was definitely more serious and responsible on the front lines than the other two. No wonder he has always been considered the best candidate for Hokage, even though he has a poor image.

Hearing Uchiha Hiyu enter, Orochimaru raised his head. His pale face, long hair, purple eyeshadow, and snake-like pupils instantly gave the impression of a cold-blooded animal staring at him.

Fortunately, the ninjas in the ninja world are knowledgeable and experienced, so they are not surprised by this cold aura. If it were an ordinary person, they would probably have been scared to the point of trembling.

"Lord Orochimaru, I've arrived!"

Uchiha Touyu, of course, didn't care about Orochimaru's gaze and spoke quite naturally. Orochimaru nodded slightly, his voice hoarse:

"I welcome a master like Feiyu-kun to support the front lines. Right now, the front lines are in dire need of sharp-edged ninjas like you."

Uchiha Touyu blinked, a sense of foreboding washing over him.

"Lord Orochimaru flatters me too much. I'm just a young Chunin, with perhaps a few special skills..."

"Feiyu-kun, there's no need to be modest. My teacher already wrote to me saying that even among the elite Jonin, Feiyu-kun is considered one of the best. Right now, besides me, Feiyu-kun is probably the strongest on the front lines!"

The Third Hokage really sold me out completely. From what he said, he meant I should take a Chunin's salary and fight against elite Jonin.

Uchiha Touyu cursed inwardly, but he was already prepared. He didn't have a close relationship with the Konoha leadership, and he was very strong. He would definitely be used to death if he went to the front line.

He probably wouldn't be assigned to an important mission that's too difficult or obviously dangerous—he'd be afraid he'd just run away. But he's definitely going to be a firefighter.

"Lord Orochimaru overestimates me. I'm just a 14-year-old ninja, and I still lack a lot of experience..."

"It doesn't matter. Experience can't hold back a genius. I believe you'll adapt to the battlefield soon."

"Uh... the problem is, I'm just a Chunin, and it's not really appropriate for me to always be assigned missions beyond my level!"

"If you want to become a Special Jonin, I can promote you right now. As a war zone commander, I still have that much authority!"

Orochimaru said with a smile, looking at Uchiha Tou's speechless expression, and then continued:

"Don't worry, the Sand Village isn't that strong. The only one who could threaten a ninja of your caliber is probably the Fourth Kazekage."

"The Fourth Kazekage will be stationed at the camp and it will be difficult for him to take action personally. Your safety is absolutely guaranteed."

"Lord Orochimaru seems to know me quite well."

"Your teacher mentioned your characteristics in the letter to me. Cherishing life is not something that is hard to understand."

When Orochimaru spoke of treasuring life, his expression became slightly serious. If we're talking about being afraid of death, Orochimaru, who was obsessed with immortality, wasn't much better than Uchiha Tou.

"I've reviewed your file and know you've studied the White Fang Sword Technique. In that case, your mission will be the same as Konoha's White Fang: to act as a spearhead to harass and kill Sand Village combat teams. This mission should suit you well, right?"

"Assign me another reconnaissance ninja, preferably one with wide-area reconnaissance capabilities."

"No problem, I can send a ninja from the Yamanaka clan to work with you. This will not only make up for your weakness in reconnaissance, but your mind-body ninjutsu will also help you gather information and contact the headquarters."

"Thank you very much, Lord Orochimaru. By the way, Lord Orochimaru, I have a method for breeding venomous snakes. I wonder if you would be interested?"

Uchiha Touyu reached out and took out a scroll, which was the method for cultivating the Silver Scale Poisonous Serpent that he had obtained from the book of demonic inheritance.

"How are venomous snakes bred?"

Orochimaru's lips curled slightly. As a contractor of Ryuchi Cave, he didn't think there was any method of breeding venomous snakes that was beyond his knowledge. However, out of politeness, he still reached out and accepted the gift handed to him by Uchiha Touyu.

Orochimaru was slightly startled after just opening the scroll and glancing at it briefly. He quickly became engrossed in reading it. Compared to the chakra pythons he had cultivated, the Silver Scale Serpent was on a completely different path.

More toxic, faster, more agile, and more lethal!

Moreover, this Poison King Serpent, which requires many highly venomous creatures to devour each other to finally achieve its form, does not involve any chakra interference at all. It follows a completely different path. Just by glancing at it, Orochimaru felt a lot of inspiration pop into his mind.

However, Uchiha Tobi wasn't giving Orochimaru a free gift. The entire scroll was only one-third of the Silver Scale Serpent Cultivation Method. After reading the scroll, Orochimaru felt unsatisfied and looked up at Uchiha Tobi:

"Alright, this gift is indeed very nice. What do you plan to exchange this gift for, Tou-kun?"

"I want the contract for Ryuchi Cave!"

Uchiha Touyu spoke with a slightly excited expression. Orochimaru frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and then nodded.

"I can help you form a contract with Ryuchi Cave, but your contract level cannot be the same as mine."

"Oh!? What are the consequences of a low contract level? Is it possible that the contract will be sealed?"

"No, that won't happen. As long as you satisfy the desires of those venomous snakes, you can summon them to deal with me without any problem."

"However, ordinary contract levels cannot summon the contract scroll of Ryuchi Cave. In other words, you cannot make anyone else form a contract with Ryuchi Cave except for yourself."

Uchiha Touyu nodded. Such restrictions were irrelevant to him. He had no intention of spreading the Ryuchi Cave contract. In fact, he only regarded Ryuchi Cave as a buffet restaurant.

The deal was struck, and Uchiha Tou handed over the second half of the Silver Scale Serpent cultivation method without hesitation. He believed that Orochimaru wouldn't do something as low as reneging on a debt.

Indeed, after Orochimaru received Uchiha Hiu's scroll, he didn't even look at it before summoning a white venomous snake. The snake opened its mouth and spat out a huge scroll, which was the contract scroll from Ryuchi Cave.

Inside this command post, Uchiha Hiyu signed a contract with Ryuchi Cave.
