Chapter 71 New Knowledge, The Wolf's Hand
Chapter 71 New Knowledge, The Wolf's Hand (Please continue reading)
Although Professor Quirrell now knows Cerberus's weakness, he is unaware of the challenges set up by the other professors.
He certainly couldn't act rashly, after all, he only had one chance.
Ted would never risk getting involved, and he even had to keep his friends in check to prevent them from causing trouble.
The best way to discipline your friends is not to force them to stay out of Cerberus and the Dark Gate, as that might backfire due to their rebellious nature.
The right approach is to keep them preoccupied with other things.
So, Ted's Little Classroom is open for business again!
Ron and Jerry huddled together, trembling.
Ted opened an after-school course called "Practical Magic" to help students understand the various situations in which magic is used in practice.
Specifically, it involves having five friends form a team and you form your own team to engage in wizard duels.
Morning exercises and theoretical studies are held, and practical duels begin in the afternoon.
Good heavens, after a few days, not only Ron and the others, but even the super-energetic Harley was completely exhausted. She fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow and slept soundly until dawn. No nighttime outings whatsoever!
In just one week, they forgot about the Cerberus and the Philosopher's Stone.
By the time their after-school tutoring ended, they still hadn't remembered. Kids, their enthusiasm only lasts a short time.
Nothing much happened in April.
While everyone else was busy with their "after-school tutoring," Professor Quirrell was preoccupied with something else entirely. Everything else proceeded as usual, and all was peaceful.
However, Ted finally completed another task: [Academy Model (Blue)].
After more than seven months, I finally added up to 100 points.
300 experience points earned.
The three cards available are:
The blue frame shows the back of an old white-haired wizard. He extends his wand, creating two walls of flame to carve a path through countless humanoid monsters.
[Vulcan leads the way (blue)]
Spell Cards
This will grant you mastery of advanced spells involving transfiguration, ignition, and fire control. It will allow you to shape flames, increasing their functionality and destructive power.
Note: Requires Polymorph level 3, Spells level 4, Ignite Charm level 4, and Fire Control Charm level 3.
Ted couldn't help but think that the old wizard resembled Dumbledore, and he remembered that this spell was used in the original book in the cave where the fake Slytherin jewelry box was hidden—to drive away the Inferi.
Could this spell have been invented by Dumbledore himself? That's quite a demanding requirement!
The second card depicts a bear trap with a blue flame burning in the center.
Frost Trap (Blue)
Spell Cards
Consumes a small amount of magic to set up a frost trap within a ten-meter radius. Targets that touch it will be frozen by ice, and the duration depends on the difference in strength.
Note: Magic traps do not protect against even non-physical targets.
Isn't this a skill of Azeroth hunters?
Non-physical targets, meaning even ghosts can trigger and freeze them, right?
The third card depicts a large human figure made of mud and rocks.
Clay Golem (Blue)
Summoning Card
Summon a clay golem to fight for you.
Lasts 10 minutes, then cools for 8 hours.
"Wow, this is great, I want this one!"
Ted prefers summoning cards to doing things himself; he'd rather have a large group of henchmen.
How can a wizard be considered a wizard if he doesn't have a group of meat shields standing in front of him?
Ted once managed to summon his [Troll (Blue)] in an abandoned classroom. Honestly, aside from its stench and low intelligence (requiring command), it was flawless. Its combat power was astonishing!
Don't be fooled by the fact that a few little wizards could take down the troll; that's because there was no one to command them. The troll was incredibly stupid!
If someone were to give the order, even three or five adult wizards would have no choice but to flee in panic!
This [Clay Golem (Blue)] is also a blue-quality summon card, so its quality is definitely not bad.
Ted found another opportunity to summon it and see for himself.
The clay golem was three meters tall, its body formed from soft mud covering rock. Its only facial feature was two stone eyes. But it could see.
Although not very intelligent, it is not as simple-minded as a troll, standing there obediently without being commanded, at most turning its head.
This thing isn't as ferocious as a giant, but it's much more defensive, covered in thick mud, making it completely useless against ordinary attacks.
Moreover, this thing has a skill—magic resistance shell, which can actually make it immune to low-level spells!
Ted tried everything—leg-locking curses, tooth-growing curses, disarming curses—but nothing worked.
Even his own Frostbolt and Ice Ring had very little effect—the damage was minimal, and the slow effect lasted for less than three seconds.
This thing is a killer of mediocre wizards!
For wizards of average strength, there are basically no ways to deal with mud golems.
While the clay golems aren't fast, they're not slow either. A three-meter-tall giant stone golem charging at you is like a magic spell hitting nothing at all. Are you scared yet? One punch from it could half-dead you!
With the troll and the clay golem as his two henchmen and protectors, Ted immediately felt safe. As long as he didn't provoke powerful wizards, he really didn't care about the ordinary dangers of the magical world!
……
As spring returns to the earth, green vegetation flourishes again, and May has quietly arrived.
Ted waited expectantly for new knowledge from another world, only to be disappointed once again.
"Ding~ The talent [Otherworldly Knowledge (Gold)] has been triggered, and the [Ninja Prosthetic Arm Crafting Blueprint (Green)] has been discovered."
The [Ninja Prosthetic Arm Crafting Blueprint (Green)] details the crafting, enhancement, and usage of the Ninja Prosthetic Arm, created by the master mechanic and peerless physician Daoxuan, and engraved by the sculptor Ninja Tobihiro. It requires 150 experience points to exchange for.
"It's no use! It's still no use!"
Isn't this prosthetic arm just like the one in Sekiro? The technology involved is too simplistic.
But only 150 experience points? This is the cheapest knowledge Ted has ever seen.
However, Ted withdrew the idea after making the exchange—it actually required a lot of technical skill.
Although this prosthetic hand is just a prosthesis and cannot compare to the technical sophistication of the Black Secret Technique: Crow, it still holds many potential for expansion.
For example, loading the "mechanical umbrella"!
It can withstand and absorb various types of magical and physical damage, and can also be used for attack and counterattack.
For example, loading "Magic Whistle"!
It can stimulate some wild beasts and magical creatures, causing them to lose their minds and attack indiscriminately.
For example, grappling hooks like Spider-Man's webs, shooting darts, creating explosions, shooting flames, transforming into knives and axes, becoming invisible, or creating a phantom clone...
In short, various "magical items" can be used to perform different "enchantments" to give them different effects.
This thing even managed to make a system compatible with it! Amazing!
Is this a prosthetic arm? This is going to kill you 3000 times over!
While the Black Secret Technique: Crow is an excellent puppet technique, the Ninja Prosthetic Arm also has its own advantages. If the technical concepts of the Ninja Prosthetic Arm were applied to the Crow Puppet, it would definitely reach an even higher level.
Indeed, some otherworldly realms may be less mysterious, but the wisdom they embody should not be underestimated.
"Indeed, every world has its own unique advantages, and I must not be complacent!" Ted reflected on himself.
Although no truly powerful otherworldly knowledge has been "unearthed" for several months, the previous "knowledge reserves" are enough to digest for a long time.
Ted had already started studying second-circle magic from D&D in May!
It was Friday again, and there was a potions class in the morning, a large class for all four houses.
Since Ted acquired the [Apothecary Gloves (Blue)], he has become increasingly adept at potion making. He can now effortlessly produce even the low-level potions from his textbooks, just like a seasoned potion master.
However, Snape's demands also increased, and he became more critical. He would find fault with everything, from the processing of the herbs to the unstable water bath temperature, or the lack of originality and the mere rote memorization of the recipes... In short, he was never satisfied!
Don't ask, the answer is there are still flaws!
"Don't think that simply following the recipes in the textbook will make a potion. The recipes in books are just the safest and simplest, not the best. If you can't find your own 'recipe' through learning, I suggest you give up on this subject as soon as possible. You're just not cut out for it!"
Snape's mouth was full of venom, and sparks flew everywhere when he spat it out!
However, everyone has gotten used to it. Students who cannot adapt to this high-pressure environment will definitely get worse and worse in the end.
However, if one can adapt, one can actually eliminate these external distractions, concentrate on preparing the medicine, and make significant progress.
Of course, Snape's original intention was definitely not to train them, but simply to say that he thought they were stupid and he had to get it off his chest.
Indeed, only Ted and Hermione were truly gifted in Potions among this class, but neither of them were people Snape would consider.
Just as they were having lunch, Ansu suddenly flew in.
Ted stretched out his arm to let it fall: "I was wondering why you weren't here. I thought you went hunting for food."
However, Ansu shook her head, looking left and right, then stuck out one foot: "Your letter~"
"Oh? Who sent it?"
"Hagrid, big Hagrid!"
It must be said that Hagrid has a knack for dealing with magical creatures; he even managed to get Anzu to send him a letter.
Ted opened it, and there was a small note: It's about to be born! Come quickly!
Please continue reading and recommend it to your friends.
I'm planning to give it a shot and see if I have a chance to get into Sanjiang.
Please help me, fellow readers!
