Chapter 72 Malfoy: You guys have to believe me!

Chapter 72 Malfoy: You guys have to believe me!

"Whose letter is it?" Hermione asked, leaning out of her skin.

"Hagrid".

"Hagrid? What did he say?" Harley asked while eating a meat pie.

Ted spread strawberry jam on his bread. "So it's about to be born?"

The others were taken aback. Ron pulled the chicken bone out of his mouth and asked, looking bewildered, "Who's about to be born?"

Ted looked at him. "Nober."

"Who is Norber? Ah! It's..." He covered his mouth—Hagrid named the unborn dragon whelp Norber!

Ted was worried he would spit out the chicken leg.

"Let's go!" Harley stuffed the meat pie into her mouth, wiped her hands casually, and got up to leave.

Neville screamed, "I haven't finished eating yet! I haven't finished eating yet!" as Ron and Jerry grabbed him and dragged him away.

The group of six left in a hurry, unnoticed by others. However, Malfoy at the Slytherin table couldn't help but notice.

He's been keeping a close eye on things, and although every attempt to get revenge only resulted in a beating, he's relentlessly persistent!

This time was no different; he grabbed his silly little follower, who hadn't had enough to eat yet, and followed them.

Come to think of it, more than a month has passed, and Ted had almost forgotten about the dragon egg.

It seems the dragon eggs have been incubating for quite a long time; today is May 5th, almost five weeks ago.

We rushed as fast as we could, afraid of missing it.

After all, most people might never see a fire dragon hatch from its shell in their entire lives.

Let alone a fire dragon, most people probably haven't even seen a chick hatch.

This kind of opportunity is indeed rare.

"Knock knock knock~"

The door opened, and Hagrid poked his head in: "You're here. Come in quickly, it'll start soon."

"I noticed it started shaking this morning, and it got stronger and stronger. I guessed it was about to hatch. Luckily, I found Ansu playing near the Forbidden Forest, which allowed me to notify you..."

Hagrid opened the furnace lid, and in the glowing embers, the egg remained unchanged.

Ted: It's good that it's not tanned.

Sure enough, the dragon egg twitched every few seconds, as if something was about to come out of the shell.

"Click~" Suddenly a slight sound was heard.

"You all heard that, didn't you? You all heard that, didn't you?" Hagrid shouted excitedly.

"I heard it, I heard it! Not only did I hear it, I saw it too!" Ron pointed and pointed to a small crack that had appeared on the dragon egg.

"Get it out quickly, Hagrid. We can't leave it in the stove!" Ted warned.

"Yes, yes, let me do it." Hagrid hurriedly put on the thick dragon skin gloves, which could make a leather hat for each of Ron and Jerry.

Hagrid, wearing gloves, took the dragon egg out of the furnace and placed it on the table.

At this point, the fine cracks multiplied, and the cracking sounds became more frequent.

A sharp, hard nose broke through a piece of the eggshell and emerged.

"It's out! It's out! Oh my god!" Hagrid sobbed with excitement, as if the baby dragon inside the egg was his own.

The entire hatching process took about five minutes. Without any help, the baby dragon broke out of the eggshell on its own.

The newborn dragon was not good-looking; it looked like a wrinkled bat with a long tail, or a dark rag with a string of small bumps on its back.

In short, it didn't give off any sense of majesty at all.

Ron and Jerry's expressions already revealed their thoughts: That's it? That's it?

However, the dragon is a top-tier creature among magical animals. Five minutes after it was born, it was already able to support itself and crawl around, making noises. It even breathed out a flame when Hagrid reached out to tease it, although it was only a ball of fire the size of a lighter.

Hagrid stared fascinated at the baby dragon eating meat on the table, his eyes glued to it. "It's a Norwegian Spinosaurus. It's so beautiful!" he exclaimed, reaching out his hand.

"Whoosh~" The young dragon breathed fire again. This time, perhaps due to its improved strength after eating meat, the flames were much larger, scorching part of Hagrid's beard.

"Oh, don't be like that, Norbert. You're a good boy, don't get angry so easily~" Hagrid's attitude made Ron feel uncomfortable, and he suddenly realized that he had eaten too much at noon.

Ron: No male mothers!

Ted looked at the dragon eggshells on the table and said, "Hagrid, can I have some of the eggshells?"

Hagrid waved his hand dismissively. "Take it if you need it. I've heard that dragon eggshells can be used to make potions."

Teddy happily accepted a large number of eggshells. These things are definitely useful! At least the otherworldly knowledge prosthetic arm he acquired earlier will come in handy.

Of course, Ted didn't plan to get a prosthetic leg; it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hagrid is a hidden millionaire at Hogwarts; even the cushions in his house are made of unicorn fur. He genuinely doesn't care about the dragon eggshell; it's completely useless to him.

The other children watched with great interest as the little dragon ate meat and breathed fire. Hermione, however, was filled with worry.

"I read in a book that Norwegian Spinosaurus developed its fire-breathing ability early, and could breathe fire when it was only one to three months old, which was a true fire-breathing ability."

Ted added, "In less than three months, at most one month, Norber will grow to the size of a cow or a horse, and then..."

Upon hearing this, everyone looked around the hunting lodge and seemed to already see the brightly lit entrance followed by a desolate scene of everything burning down.

"Uh..." Hagrid was stunned.

Just then, Ansu's distinctive call suddenly rang out from outside the window: "Gah gah gah, it's horse manure~ Horse manure is peeking~ Horse manure, horse manure~"

Ansu cried out as she pounced, swatting and pecking at the target.

Good heavens, even the Malfoy trio were no match for Ansu. Ansu's wingspan was a full seventy centimeters, and he sent the three of them running away with their tails between their legs.

Then the victorious Ansu stood on the fence and laughed loudly.

Through the window, Ted and his friends saw the Malfoy trio fleeing in panic.

Neville was a little worried: "Won't Malfoy betray us?"

Ted reassured him, "Don't worry. Even if he snitches, someone has to believe him. Snitching a student is one thing, but what professor would care if he snitched Hagrid?"

Believe it or not, Malfoy actually didn't tell the professors.

But this guy is too boastful. He bragged to his classmates in private that he had personally witnessed a dragon hatching.

He saw nothing, just a few glimpses. It had been half a day since it hatched, and An Su caught him and gave him a good slap.

Malfoy: Do you know how much psychological damage a severe beating can cause to a twelve-year-old?!

Regarding Malfoy's boasting, the students all said: "Whatever makes you happy! Keep bragging, I'm listening!"

In short, no one believes it.

This infuriated Malfoy. He got a severe beating for trying to peek, and no one believed his lies.

He was determined to find evidence to convince everyone. So he began to closely monitor the movements of the six-person team.

Ted and his friends naturally noticed Malfoy's unusual behavior—he followed them everywhere like a ghost in a harem, but his tracking skills were ridiculously bad, and he would often pretend to be looking at the scenery when he was discovered.

Can't you do something productive for once? Even if you're bullying men and women?!

Therefore, the group of six could not simply let him follow along.

And so, the counterattack began.

That evening at dinner, Malfoy once again tirelessly boasted to his friends about witnessing the hatchlings of a dragon hatching.

Of course, most of the content is imagined, like a snap, a flash of fire, and the egg breaks.

Do you think it's a bomb?!

You've made it sound like we're on a battlefield, like we've stepped on a booby trap.

His friends all had expressions that said, "Please, just finish this already." Even Pansy, who was usually very close to him, couldn't help but roll her eyes.

She's listened to several versions of Malfoy's story about a baby dragon hatching these past few days, and she's been dreaming about bombs—no, dragon eggs.

At this moment, Ted leaned closer, with an expression that said, "I care about you, I'm doing this for your own good."

"I truly believe that our young master Malfoy should go to Ms. Pomfrey and ask for some dreamless sleeping pills, so he won't be daydreaming all the time, which could easily lead to mental instability in the long run."

At this moment, Jerry also came over and said to Ted, "Oh, my dear friend, you are always so kind-hearted, even to some little liars who are full of lies."

"Don't say that, it's what I should do." Ted said with a gentlemanly fake smile.

Everyone around couldn't help but laugh.

"You two, you two... one Mudblood, one freak! You, you, I, I..." Malfoy was so angry that his mouth trembled and he couldn't finish his sentence.

A cold female voice then spoke from the side: "Slytherin, deduct 20 points!"

Professor McGonagall approached, her face as cold as ice: "Malfoy! How dare you utter such vile words! Two weeks of solitary confinement!"

Malfoy was dumbfounded. He wanted to explain, but after opening his mouth for a long time, he didn't know what to say.

At this moment, Ron, holding a chicken leg, said to Ted and Jerry with a big smile, "If you two continue like this, our young master Ma Manure will probably die of anger before graduation."

Ted shrugged. "Then I suggest he broaden his horizons!"

Jerry: "I wish him good health."

After finishing their skit, the two gave each other a cheerful high five. The auditorium was filled with a lively atmosphere.
