Douluo: The Glory of the Peerless Angel

Chapter 1 Angels, Red Dragons, and the Glass Tower (Part 1)

Douluo Continent, outer area of Star Dou Great Forest.

The Star Dou Great Forest is the most expansive and oldest gathering place for soul beasts on the Douluo Continent. As far as the eye can see, there are towering ancient trees, one next to another, with branches extending from the trees and intertwining with each other. The green mist is so strong that the aura of life seems to have become tangible.

"roar--"

A roar shattered the tranquility of the forest, and a huge black shadow leaped in, felling large swathes of ancient trees to either side as if harvesting wheat.

This is a spirit beast that looks like an ape. Its whole body is covered with steel-like brown-black fur. Although it runs on all fours, its shoulder height is definitely over seven meters. Its body is incredibly strong, and its whole body is covered with muscles that are more solid than granite. Every bulge is like a small hill.

The Golden Baboon, with two thousand years of cultivation.

The King Kong Baboon is renowned among soul beasts. Firstly, as the largest ape-type soul beast, its muscular physique gives it unparalleled strength, speed, attack power, and defense. Except for the lack of ranged attack methods, it is completely flawless.

Secondly, the King Kong Baboon, despite being an ape-like spirit beast, is exceptionally low in intelligence, acting solely on instinct. It is brutal, fond of killing, fierce, and domineering, ready to fight anyone who disagrees with it, which makes it a creature that many spirit beasts keep at a distance.

However, this Vajra baboon, known for its brute force and rampage throughout the soul beast world, was actually running away at this moment!

The bright yellow beast eyes no longer held their former ferocity and cruelty, only fear and unease. The King Kong Baboon would occasionally look back, as if some unspeakable monster was chasing it from behind.

"First Soul Skill, Radiant Spirit Array."

A clear, melodious voice suddenly rang out.

A massive, golden seven-pointed star array instantly floated above the King Kong Baboon's head, its flowing light illuminating the Milky Way, as if all the worldly splendor had vanished. As it descended from the clouds, it was as if an immortal was wielding a brush from below, leaving behind streaks of light and shadow in mid-air.

"roar!"

As the light arrived, the King Kong Baboon decisively stopped its escape, covering its head with its hands to protect its weak point.

A series of beams of light emanated a metallic chill as the defenses formed by the King Kong Baboon's arms were ripped open vertically, like a door violently pushed open. Blood scattered like sawdust, and then a shadow entered its field of vision from above.

Ling Bai spread his angel wings, and a misty, illusory six-winged figure seemed to embrace him from behind. He held a three-foot-long sword in his hand, and three large soul rings, one yellow and two purple, shone brightly under his feet. His handsome face was calm and indifferent, and his golden eyes held only cold and ruthless killing intent!

The giant baboon roared and screamed. Sensing Ling Bai's murderous aura, it could no longer restrain itself. Its massive body charged forward like an armored tank, and its arms, like pillars supporting the sky, swung up and brought a gust of wind to strike Ling Bai's head.

The angelic sword slashed down, meeting the blood-soaked arm. The moment they collided, a deafening roar erupted, and the ground beneath the giant baboon's feet cracked inch by inch, terrifying fissures spreading in all directions, and billowing dust filled the sky.

A scream came from the smoke and dust, and a hairy arm flew out and fell to the ground, forming a perfect parabola.

The severed arm was smooth and flat, golden light surged and blood flowed freely. A destructive aura invaded the body at an extremely fast speed, rushing wildly to every limb and bone. The King Kong Baboon was not very intelligent, but its life instinct as a soul beast was frantically warning that if it did not finish the battle quickly, its power would become weaker and weaker until it became fish on the chopping block of the human in front of it.

Suppressing the discomfort caused by the damage inside his body, the King Kong Baboon used its other scarred arm to reach into Ling Bai's abdomen.

Ling Bai seemed not to have reacted yet. The giant baboon clenched its fist into a claw and thrust it straight in, its huge mouth curving into a triumphant smile.

The next second, the palm passed through Ling Bai's body, but not a drop of blood splattered. Ling Bai's figure also became fainter and fainter, turning into dust and disappearing.

Afterimage!

"roar!?"

The golden baboon hurriedly used its remaining arm to protect its vitals, and then a golden sword light landed on its back, slicing off large patches of brown and black fur, which turned into countless points of light that scattered everywhere.

The blood-red light shimmered against the backdrop of the verdant forest, creating a poignant scene.

Ling Bai reappeared before the Golden Baboon, the golden light emanating from the Angelic Holy Sword in his hand growing ever more intense. His angelic wings unfurled, and his three soul rings rose and fell continuously as his soul power surged.

At that moment, two more figures arrived at lightning speed.

A bright and beautiful girl with long, crimson hair tied in a high ponytail. Two yellow spirit rings that emit a faint glow represent her status as a second-ring Great Spirit Master. Fiery red rhomboid dragon scales appear on her arms, but the scales are crisscrossed with cracks, as if they would shatter at the slightest touch. A trace of crimson blood also hangs from the corner of the girl's mouth.

The other girl was also a young woman, but she surpassed the red-haired girl in both appearance and temperament. Her platinum blonde hair cascaded down to her waist, and her eyes were as pure as lake water. A seven-colored glass pagoda floated in her palm, making her fair and flawless face appear sacred and inviolable.

"Brother Bai, how are you?" The platinum-blonde girl's tone was tinged with concern.

"It's alright, you and Wu Feng be careful."

Ling Bai's eyes narrowed slightly as he locked onto the heavily wounded King Kong baboon: "It's going to fight to the death."

"Cluck...cluck..."

The giant baboon supported its body on its two hind legs, and after standing upright, its height suddenly exceeded ten meters. Its fangs rubbed and bit against each other, making a series of sharp grinding sounds. Its reddened eyes stared intently at Ling Bai and the other two.

These three humans are as damn clingy and stubble-like as glue!

Especially that flying birdman!

"roar--"

The intense physical pain combined with his inner rage finally drove King Kong Baboon to madness!

Its eyes instantly turned blood red, and even its brown and black fur appeared to be on fire, its color rapidly deepening, turning into a deep dark red in an instant.

Innate Soul Skill: Berserk!

At the same time, the aura of the King Kong Baboon became violent. Already of questionable intelligence, it abandoned the last bit of reason after unleashing its berserk state, completely turning into a relentless killing machine.

The King Kong Baboon no longer felt the pain in its body. Its already extremely powerful body swelled up even more. Its thick, iron-pillar-like arm swung and swung, creating a series of sonic booms in the air. Its massive body leaped up like a cannonball and pounced on Ling Bai.

The berserk King Kong Baboon was incredibly imposing. The giant wind it generated when it leaped up made Ning Tian and Wu Feng's faces turn pale, even from a distance. One of them bit her lip and looked at the calm figure in the sky with a defiant expression, while the other summoned her two yellow soul rings!

"Seven treasures are transformed into crystal!"

The seven treasures have names: First, strength! Second, speed!

The Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda was enveloped in rosy light, and two seven-colored chains shot out from the first two levels of the pagoda, instantly rushing into Ling Bai's body.

The arc-shaped sword energy, like a brilliant golden meteor, trailed a dazzling golden tail, but to the King Kong Baboon, it was a deadly beauty.

The brilliant golden light illuminated the forest, and also the faces of Ling Bai and the King Kong Baboon.

Ling Bai saw the astonishment and anger on the King Kong Baboon's face, and the King Kong Baboon also saw the coldness and bloodlust in Ling Bai's eyes... as well as the purple second soul ring that had been flashing at some point!

The Six-Winged Angel's Second Soul Skill: Evil-Repelling Slash!

"roar!!!"

Ling Bai passed by, and the world seemed to shatter. Sunlight streamed through the branches of the ancient trees, bathing him in its light. Behind him, the massive soul beast remained motionless until its final roar, before crashing to the ground with a deafening crash.
