Devouring Stars: Master of Evolution

Chapter 40 Enslaving the Black-Crowned Golden Eagle

Above city 0237, a huge black-crowned golden eagle flies over the edge of the city.

Its wingspan is nearly thirty meters, like that of a large fighter jet. Its feathers have a faint, cold metallic sheen, and the feathers on its head are dark black, like a black crown. Its sharp, huge claws are also golden yellow.

"Ugh~~~"

A sharp cry rang out from the black-crowned golden eagle's beak, its eyes flashing with murderous intent. Just moments ago, it had discovered that a flock of golden vultures had invaded its territory!

What made it even more unbearable was that a human was sitting cross-legged on the back of the golden vulture!

Humans are the common enemy of all monsters!

With a sudden flap of its wings, the black-crowned golden eagle's speed surged, breaking the sound barrier, and it swooped down at a group of golden vultures below.

"No wonder this is a big city; we've encountered a low-level lord-level black-crowned golden eagle right from the start!"

Surrounded and protected by a flock of golden vultures, Qin Mu smiled. What a great start!

Through the continuous reproduction and feedback of these swarms of insects, his martial arts strength has become infinitely close to the advanced warrior level, and his mental power is only one step away from reaching the intermediate war god level. How could he be afraid of a mere low-level lord-level black-crowned golden eagle?

"go!"

Six of the eleven short spears surrounding Qin Mu shot out, aiming at the black-crowned golden eagle from various angles. Under Qin Mu's deliberate control, the speed of the short spears was not fast, only reaching twice the speed of sound.

"A spiritualist?"

The black-crowned golden eagle that swooped down at lightning speed was startled; once it reached the lord level, its intelligence was no different from that of a human.

However, upon discovering that the short spear's speed had only just reached twice the speed of sound, a mocking glint appeared in its enormous eyes. With a burst of power, its speed surged once again, breaking through four times the speed of sound!

How could an attack at twice the speed of sound possibly hurt it?

"boom!"

The surrounding air produced a huge sonic boom due to this extreme speed.

However, the next moment, a look of human-like terror appeared on the black-crowned eagle's face.

Because, just as it unleashed its power to dodge the short spear attack and directly pounce on the human mentalist...

With a smile on his face, Qin Mu focused his mental energy, and the speed of the short spear also increased dramatically, exceeding six times the speed of sound.

Just now, he deliberately used only six short spears and controlled the speed, all to lure the black-crowned golden eagle into attacking.

If the black-crowned golden eagle turns and runs away, he really won't be able to catch it!

"Pfft—"

The black-crowned golden eagle's feathers, harder than diamond, were torn apart, and six huge through wounds appeared on its wings. No matter how tough its body was, it would be pierced by the 8th-level short spear.

However, the black-crowned golden eagle with its pierced wing became ferocious. Even though it was covered in blood, it showed no sign of retreating and pounced on Qin Mu almost instantly.

Qin Mu stomped his feet hard, stepping onto the golden vulture's back, causing it to plummet more than ten meters. He then used the force of the impact, combined with his mental power, to fly into the sky.

"Rip—"

The golden vulture was caught on the back by the sharp talons of a black-crowned golden eagle that swooped down, and large chunks of flesh were torn apart. It fell from the sky with a scream.

Qin Mu, who had regained his footing in the air, turned cold. Eleven short spears descended from the sky, attacking again with terrifying speed.

With its wings pierced and its speed greatly reduced, the black-crowned golden eagle's expression turned frantic. It made a sharp turn in the air and flapped its wings violently, trying to get closer to Qin Mu.

It wanted to fight to the death!

With its wing injured, it can't fly far. This human also controls more than a dozen golden vultures. Before it was injured, it didn't take the mere golden vultures seriously at all, but now it's hard to even escape!

Only by killing this human mentalist can it have a chance to survive.

Its idea was destined to fail.

The short spears were too fast and too sharp. Although it tried its best to dodge, it could only watch helplessly as its body was pierced by the spears one after another, and blood splattered into the sky.

How could the myth of a mentalist being invincible among their peers be so easily shattered by a black-crowned golden eagle?

In the end, the black-crowned eagle could only fall helplessly from the sky, emitting a mournful cry.

"It's a success!"

With a joyful expression, Qin Mu landed on a golden vulture.

With a thought, the golden vulture beneath its feet chased after the falling black-crowned golden eagle.

"Boom—"

A black-crowned eagle fell onto the ruins of a building, causing the already dilapidated building to collapse completely, sending smoke billowing everywhere.

Under Qin Mu's deliberate control, the previous attacks only injured its wings and did not penetrate its vital parts.

Amidst the ruins, the black-crowned golden eagle struggled to its feet, but the next moment, eleven short spears descended from the sky, mercilessly piercing its limbs, pinning it firmly to the ground like nails.

"Ugh~~~"

The black-crowned golden eagle roared, its body unable to move, yet still exuding ferocity.

Looking at the black-crowned golden eagle on the ground, Qin Mu slowly descended from the sky, his spiritual power surging and piercing into its sea of consciousness.

"Submit to me!"

A violent surge of mental energy raged within the Black-crowned Golden Eagle's consciousness, producing a deafening sound.

The black-crowned golden eagle's eyes turned red; this human actually wanted it to submit!

How dare he, a mere human! It was enraged!

But just as it resisted, a tearing pain came from its sea of consciousness, a pain that made its soul tremble and caused its whole body to convulse.

After the mother nest evolved to level two, Qin Mu's soul power surged, and his ability to precisely manipulate his sea of consciousness also improved significantly.

Back in City 0203, he had tried to tame a high-level beast general-level monster and easily transformed it into an insectoid creature.

The moment Qin Mu encountered the black-crowned golden eagle, he had the idea of subduing it and transforming it into an insectoid being.

The level 2 mother hive can hatch monsters at the level of advanced beast generals, so there is no point in turning advanced beast generals into insectoids.

Lord-level monsters are different.

Based on the analysis of the monster's genetic progress in the Mother Nest, it will take at least two more months to evolve into a Level 3 Mother Nest.

During this period, Lord-class monsters will become the high-end force of the Zerg, providing strong support for the expansion of the swarm.

"Submit to me!"

Seeing the black-crowned golden eagle resisting desperately and showing no sign of submission, a ruthless glint flashed across Qin Mu's face.

A short spear that had pierced the black-crowned eagle flew up, hovered, and then, right before the eagle's eyes, pierced its body, tearing open its internal organs.

"Waaah—"

The black-crowned eagle's eyes bulged, blood vessels appearing in its eyeballs; this attack had severely injured it.

"To submit or to die!"

As the short spear pierced its internal organs, Qin Mu's mental power once again swept through its sea of consciousness like a storm, almost tearing it apart.

Just as it was about to lose consciousness and become unable to resist, a smile finally appeared on Qin Mu's face.

"Soul connection established!"

As Qin Mu's spiritual power continued to influence them, a faint soul connection appeared between Qin Mu and the black-crowned golden eagle.

"As expected, monsters of the same level can be forcibly suppressed and controlled through infection!"

Qin Mu's face showed joy, which meant that as long as Qin Mu was willing, he could continuously control lord-level monsters and greatly enhance the high-end power of the Zerg.

"Quickly, take it to the mother nest to heal!"

Qin Mu's heart stirred, and several golden vultures around him landed and seized the black-crowned golden eagle that was already seriously injured and dying.

Without the mother brood's healing, the black-crowned golden eagle would likely bleed to death before long.

Fortunately, the Zerg's hive in city 0237 wasn't far from here, and with the combined efforts of several golden vultures, they quickly transported it to the vicinity of a building ruin.

This is a subway station built by humans in city 0237 during the Great Nirvana period. Qin Mu took a liking to it and used it to incubate the mother nest.

When the Golden Vulture landed, a group of Zerg units were already waiting on the ground.

The Zerg had expanded the entrance to the subway platform, and despite its enormous size, the Black-crowned Golden Eagle was still dragged inside by the Zerg warriors.

As the fungal carpet inside the subway platform continuously extended its tentacles, it enveloped the black-crowned eagle, healing its injuries.

"It's a success!"

Seeing that the black-crowned eagle's injuries were stabilizing and beginning to improve, Qin Mu's last trace of worry disappeared.

"City 0237, here I come!"

Listening to the roars of monsters outside the city, Qin Mu's eyes burned with ambition.
