Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 101 The Vanishing Killing Curse
Chapter 101 The Vanishing Killing Curse
"Spatial magic is truly amazing, isn't it?" The group of four suddenly appeared in a wilderness, and Gryffindor, with his red hair and beard, exclaimed from the bottom of his heart about the convenience of spatial magic.
What would take ordinary people dozens of days to travel, they arrived in just one morning.
"In the eyes of ordinary people, we're no different from so-called gods," Hufflepuff said with a laugh.
"Gods are nothing special; they can die from a single sword strike." Gryffindor has always scoffed at the so-called "gods."
Unlike Godric and Helga, who were relaxed and carefree, Slytherin and Ravenclaw were discussing academic matters.
"But this spell is very uncomfortable to use; I almost suffocated halfway through." Although Slytherin was the one who liked snakes the most among the four, he didn't like crawling through pipes like snakes do.
"This is an objectively existing problem."
"If we make a magical device that can hold several people, and then have another person carry this device to use spatial magic, will the person inside feel cramped?"
"An interesting idea." Ravenclaw fell into deep thought.
She thought Salazar's words made a lot of sense.
"Why don't you give it a try?"
Slytherin and Ravenclaw were both action-oriented, and the very next day they brought a crystal ball to Gryffindor.
Looking at the unremarkable crystal ball before him, Gryffindor frowned: "Can this thing really hold people?"
Slytherin smiled broadly: "It's precisely because you're strong enough that we dared to let you try."
Gryffindor: ...
Good news: Crystal balls can indeed hold people.
Bad news: It's filled with dead people—living people who go in will quickly become dead too.
"At least half of Godric's physical strength is needed to survive inside for a short time."
"How about giving this improved version a try?"
Watching the two people diligently recording experimental data without a trace of personal emotion, Gryffindor felt breathless.
But the experiment must continue.
After several modifications, Ravenclaw finally transformed the interior of the crystal ball to be large enough to accommodate living beings, and even cultivated a small forest inside. After setting up the interior, Ravenclaw used it to verify Slytherin's conjecture—sure enough, there was no feeling of being cramped inside.
"What a wondrous creation." Looking at the lush vegetation inside the crystal ball, Slytherin couldn't help but marvel at Ravenclaw's superb magical skills.
"If you're interested, I can sell it to you."
"How much?" Slytherin asked without hesitation. He knew the crystal ball's value was immeasurable, its worth almost beyond monetary measure.
"I won't take money." Rowena looked at Salazar, and seeing the confusion in his eyes, she smiled slightly. "Exchange it for knowledge—knowledge is priceless, just like this crystal ball. Priceless things should be exchanged for priceless things."
……
The crystal ball shattered, turning into a worthless shard, and the room where Daphne and the others were instantly filled with a lush jungle.
Daphne stood on a tree branch, a vague sense of foreboding creeping into her heart: that crystal ball seemed extraordinary. As far as she knew, the Greengrass family's treasury didn't possess alchemical artifacts of this caliber; they only had some crude Galleons.
Containers with seamless expansion spells applied to their interiors are common, ranging from small handbags to large tents and houses; they can all be made much larger than they appear from the outside through magical spatial manipulation. But the space inside this crystal ball is ridiculously large, requiring an extremely high level of spatial magic skill.
"Luckily, the crystal ball was unclaimed, otherwise I couldn't afford to pay for it even if I sold it," Daphne thought to herself.
Just then, she noticed the skeletal "horse" had come to the tree where she was, seemingly calling to her. She gently floated down from the tree and landed beside it, then realized it resembled the legendary nightmare.
"Are you Nightmare?" Daphne tentatively called out its name.
Nightmare raised its head in agreement.
"Would you like to join me in defeating that monster?"
Nightmare excitedly scratched the ground: going against Voldemort was something it had always dreamed of, and it didn't need any mobilization at all.
Daphne was overjoyed. With Nightmare around, she no longer had to fight that monster alone. As for Harry, Daphne considered him a winner as long as he survived the battle.
boom!
Voldemort swept down several trees around him, clearing a space for himself.
Surrounded by forests and with a clearing in the middle, the terrain stirred up some unpleasant memories for him, but then a cold smile appeared on his lips: he was not that good-for-nothing Quirrell, and he was not incapable of handling even a little girl.
"Come out." His deep voice echoed in the room. "It's time to end this boring game."
Voldemort's words were quickly answered—a Nightmare and Daphne emerged from the woods and attacked him.
Nightmare circled rapidly in the clearing, occasionally seizing an opportunity to rush to Voldemort's side and ram him with the horn on his head. Daphne, on the other hand, stood at the edge of the forest, constantly launching ranged attacks to harass Voldemort and prevent him from concentrating on dealing with Nightmare.
For a time, the two sides were evenly matched, with Nightmare absorbing the majority of the damage and Voldemort's attacks. More importantly, the demonic flames surrounding it were highly lethal to Voldemort, which hampered Voldemort's movements in the fight. Without it, Daphne would have had no chance of holding her own against Voldemort.
The two sides were locked in fierce combat, and no one noticed that the soil beneath their feet seemed to have become somewhat soft.
Voldemort grew increasingly agitated: he never expected that he would actually be entangled with a first-year witch and a nightmare, even if it was because he was in a remnant soul state and could only attach himself to Quirrell's body. This was a great humiliation.
Thinking of this, Voldemort's anger flared up, and his attacks became even more ruthless.
With a bang, his spell struck the Nightmare, blasting it away. Daphne, seeing the danger, was about to hide in the forest for cover when a drooping branch suddenly turned into a python, coiling around her body and immobilizing her.
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort grinned menacingly as he unleashed a killing curse upon her.
At that moment, time seemed to slow down in Daphne's eyes. She watched the ghastly green spell flying towards her, and only one thought remained in her mind: if she were struck by that spell, she would probably die. Rice said that wizards go to the Interdimensional Realm after death; she wondered what it was like there.
Daphne closed her eyes, but death did not come—the Killing Curse vanished abruptly when it was less than an inch from her nose, evaporating like dew under the sun.

Update here~
I worked overtime again today, and didn't get home until 10 PM, so the second update will be a little late. My keyboard is practically sparking from all the typing. I'll definitely update as soon as possible so everyone can check back in the morning!
I've consulted with experienced readers, and the update preview at the end of each chapter doesn't count towards the paid word count, so you can enjoy it without worry.
On Qidian, you get charged every 200 words. My chapters are always at the full 200 words; I never pad them with filler. In fact, I often stop writing around 2150+ words to avoid charging you extra coins.
The "Request Monthly Tickets" button was forcibly added by Qidian and cannot be removed. There's no need for everyone to vote for it. I'm too embarrassed to ask for tickets since I only update this little bit every day. I would be very grateful if you could just subscribe.
