Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 150 Time Spell: Stasis Field

Chapter 150 Time Spell: Stasis Field

"This meat is completely cold!" Gryffindor picked up a piece of frozen meat from the lunchbox with his fingers, looking at it with considerable disdain.

Once the meat cools down, the fat solidifies on the surface, making the grilled meat taste terrible and difficult to digest.

"Professor Gryffindor, it's normal for the meat to be cold in the dead of winter. We can just light a fire to warm it up." Adrian walked over carrying a pile of freshly chopped wood, piled it into a small fire on the ground, and lit it with magic.

"Move aside, don't get in my way!" Mary, Gryffindor's star pupil, carefully approached with a horn cup. "Teacher, it's too cold. Have some mulled wine to warm yourself up!"

Before returning to the camp, she cleverly warmed the wine she had brought with magical flames, keeping it at a suitable temperature.

Adrian: (_)

He turned his head stiffly and found his teacher, Slytherin, standing under a pine tree not far away, smiling at him.

Adrian scratched his head: This is troublesome, I've already finished the wine I brought on the way...

No, Mary, what's the point of all this fancy stuff? It's so obsequious! Wouldn't great wizards like Gryffindor just heat their own wine?

After inwardly despising Mary, Adrian quickly swept away the snow on the ground, spread a piece of deerskin on the cleared area, and then ran to Slytherin's side to invite him over.

"Teacher, please sit here. It's clean here, so you don't get your robe dirty."

After Slytherin took his seat, Gryffindor handed him a glass of wine and gave him a sip.

"Including the two from this morning, we've already cleared out five dragons. There are far too many dragons in this forest." Slytherin calmly finished his drink and began discussing the next steps in the Forbidden Forest expansion plan with Gryffindor.

"Should we leave a few for the children? What if future wizards can't even handle a fire dragon?" Gryffindor drew his longsword, skewered the piece of meat, which was as cold as stone, onto it, and then roasted it over the fire.

"Teachers, leave it to us. It's just a fire dragon. I can handle two... no, three by myself!" Adrian, who was setting up a pot to boil water by the fire, perked up after hearing the professors' conversation.

Mary glanced at Adrian; she had a feeling he was about to get yelled at.

"How many times have I told you not to underestimate any enemy? Why can't you remember?" Sure enough, Adrian's words displeased Slytherin, who thought Adrian was too arrogant.

Ordinary fire dragons are fine, but if there are giant dragons or dragons with rare attributes like space dragons hidden inside, this guy is probably going to die a violent death!

"Alright, alright, the child's idea is good, at least it's very courageous!" Gryffindor actually quite agreed with Adrian's remarks.

Slytherin sighed heavily: he always felt that Adrian was a Gryffindor spy planted in his house.

He took out his lunchbox, and when he opened it, a rich aroma wafted out.

Gryffindor sniffed, then looked at his old friend with a look of astonishment.

"Wait, what is this? It smells so good!" Then he noticed something unusual: "Hey? Your vegetables look so fresh! Like they were just cooked!"

Mary and Adrian also came over to look at Slytherin's lunchbox.

Sure enough, the food inside looked extremely fresh, just as Gryffindor had described, as if it had just been taken off the stove. The fat on the roast meat sizzled, and the fried food coated in batter was steaming hot. When you poked it with a knife, it made an extremely crispy sound.

"Helga and I spent some time researching and came up with an interesting spell, which we tried putting on this lunchbox. We haven't decided on a name for the spell yet, maybe a preservation spell or a heat-keeping spell?"

"Why didn't you tell me about this wonderful thing?!" Gryffindor looked at the frozen lump of ice in his lunchbox, his feelings extremely complicated.

"You didn't ask, did you?" Slytherin replied with a smile.

Gryffindor was rendered speechless by Slytherin's words.

"Just kidding. This spell is something we just developed, and its effectiveness isn't stable yet, so we're testing it on my lunchbox first. This success was just luck. If we hadn't been so lucky, we might have found a pile of charred or rotten food inside when we opened it."

Although his friend explained things to him, Gryffindor was still sullen.

He squatted down and reheated the meat on the longsword. When he took his first bite, Gryffindor suddenly realized why he was unhappy: "When we were experimenting with the crystal ball, I was the first one they came to, but when it came to testing the lunchbox's insulation, you, Salazar, got to try it first! That's not how it works! Cunning, despicable Salazar!"

"Try it!" Salazar divided some of the food and put it into Gryffindor's lunchbox.

The moment the juicy, fatty roast meat entered their mouths, Gryffindor's resentment towards Slytherin vanished.

Slytherin's lunchbox was enchanted with a seamless expansion charm, and it contained enough food for four people to enjoy. Everyone ate fresh, steaming hot food.

……

"That's the story of Slytherin and the Preservation Charm. Now I'll teach you the key points of this spell. If you put this spell on your lunchbox, the food inside will remain in the same state it was at the moment it was placed in. This is a super-advanced magic in the realm of time!" After telling Daphne an interesting little story, Rice began today's main topic: teaching about Stasis Fields.

Ordinary preservation spells are nothing more than simple heating or freezing spells, which can keep food at a warm or frozen state. However, both continuous heating and continuous freezing will damage the taste of the food. Therefore, a higher level of preservation magic will create a near-vacuum state inside the lunchbox and keep the temperature constant, but it still has its drawbacks.

Rice's static field is completely different. It has almost no drawbacks. Its only drawback is that it is difficult to cast and consumes a lot of magic power.

It freezes time in a small area, keeping the items in that area as they were the moment they were placed there, until the spell's effect wears off and the flow of time around it returns to normal.

The time within that area was permanently "stolen" by the spellcaster; it was extracted, banished, and ultimately dissipated into an unknown space.

After listening to Rice's introduction, Daphne and Astoria both blinked.
