Chapter 217 Ravenclaw: I Played in the Mud in the Dungeon

Ravenclaw frowned upon learning that Rice had used the "Origin Fragment".

Seeing her expression, Rice understood what she was thinking: her old friend was afraid that after coming into contact with the Origin Fragment, she would be twisted into a life form like the Norse false god.

"Don't worry, I didn't directly fuse with the fragment." Rice raised an eyebrow: Do you even know the value of a Potions Master?

He minimized the negative effects of the fragments, thus achieving the closest possible method to immortality.

The only downside is that the slumber lasts too long; when you wake up, all your loved ones are either buried in the ground or have become ghosts.

"What a lucky snake."

After hearing Rice's explanation, Rowena finally felt relieved and genuinely admired Rice's good fortune. At the same time, she admitted that even if she obtained such a treasure, she probably wouldn't be able to use it like Salazar.

In the field of potion making, Salazar is truly far ahead.

"The only problem is that I slept for too long, and when I woke up I was a bit out of touch with the outside world." Rice shared his experience of cramming on all sorts of common sense in the first year after waking up with the two Ravenclaws, which made the two Ravenclaws laugh.

The three chatted for a long time, until Rice's stomach growled, and they realized that it was already dinnertime outside.

"Alright, that's enough." Ravenclaw ended the almost endless conversation; she and Helena could talk for three days and three nights straight.

If you really want to have a good chat, Salazar can't wait.

"Oh, right, there's one more thing. You're familiar with Helga, so take a look and see if this thing has any connection to her." Rice took out a small crystal bottle from his pocket, with a thin layer of sand at the bottom.

The magical gadget Gemma Farley used during the duel had caught Rice's attention the moment she pulled it out. After the duel ended, he went straight to the platform, removed some of the soil that made it, and then, after some effort, managed to separate the special dust from the ordinary soil.

This dust can enchant ordinary soil, briefly creating an effect similar to a domain. Gemma's magic at the end of the duel can be seen as a rudimentary version of a domain. Unfortunately, this magic consumes too much magic power and energy, making it impossible for an ordinary novice wizard to master.

Although it was just a fleeting glimpse, Kles felt a sense of familiarity from that pseudo-domain; this earth-elemental domain was somewhat similar to Hufflepuff's domain.

The reason Rice couldn't be certain was because the dust collected at the end lacked Hufflepuff's magic. In other words, that sense of familiarity was likely an illusion caused by the similarity in properties. Rice also found Dumbledore's fire domain quite familiar…

Rice's decision to give this dust to Ravenclaw for research was merely a gamble, a case of blind luck.

What if?

Sure enough, after a preliminary observation of the dust in the bottle, Rowena was unable to draw any conclusions.

"Could I keep this bit of soil to study?"

Rice had no objection. He was confident that Gemma definitely had some left, otherwise she wouldn't have used it in a regular duel.

"Thank you." Ravenclaw took the bottle from Rice and uncorked it.

Helena: ...

While she was idly listening on the sidelines, she suddenly felt that something was not quite right.

She quickly found the source of the anomaly—the bottle! Why was her mother able to take the bottle and open it, even though they were both ghosts? Ghosts shouldn't be able to affect physical objects!

Rice also noticed Rowena's changes. Clearly, Ravenclaw hadn't been idle during his time away from the seal. Her form had undergone further changes. A few months ago she was a slightly different kind of ghost; now she was more like an elf, and her ability to interfere with reality was gradually increasing.

To give an example that would definitely get me punched if I said it out loud, Rowena is now showing signs of turning into a mischievous imp.

"I'm different from you." Rowena glanced at Helena and smiled slightly. "I found a way to preserve my power."

A mummified corpse suddenly appeared in the corner of the corridor.

"However, there are still many restrictions, such as not being able to stay too far from the body, etc."

Helena: !

The sudden appearance of the corpse greatly shocked her.

After briefly explaining her situation to her daughter, Rowena turned her attention to the bottle of dust. She poured the dust onto the ground and observed the changes in the soil.

Indeed, as Rice said, the dust produced a very magical effect after coming into contact with ordinary soil, making the soil in this area much easier to control.

Ravenclaw waved his hand, and the ground beneath Rice's feet instantly turned into liquid. If Rice hadn't reacted quickly, he would have "sunk" into the ground.

Rice glanced at Rowena, then quickly took to the air within the tunnel. The activated soil, under Ravenclaw's control, clung tightly to his back, its dynamic changes almost as if it were alive.

However, once Rice had rushed dozens of meters away, the mud became like a vicious dog bound by a rope, unable to advance any further.

"There is a limit to the distance, because there is still too little enchanted earth, but it is indeed a very magical thing." Rowena also became very interested in this special dust. She had just really grasped the feeling of the earth element.

"You could talk to Gemma and ask her where she got this dust," Ravenclaw suggested.

Rice drew his wand, preparing to extract the dust that had seeped into the earth. Ravenclaw stopped him, finding it amusing to keep such a lump of soil around, and knowing that separating the dust from ordinary mud would be easy for her.

"Alright," Rice agreed. It was Ravenclaw's prerogative to play in the mud in the dungeon, and finding some stress-relieving toys for the thousand-year-old was good for her mental and physical health, wasn't it?

When he prepared to leave the seal, Helena did not move.

Rice immediately understood what she meant; she wanted to spend some time with Roynaldo inside the seal.

This is a good thing. Rice also hopes that someone can stay with Ravenclaw in the seal and, incidentally, stop her from doing anything too crazy.

After receiving Rice's permission, Helena immediately became happy.

"Thank you, Uncle Salazar."

Looking at Helena, who was willing to remain within the seal, Rice felt a slight headache: if Barrow asked about Helena's whereabouts in the future, that would be quite troublesome...

Why not just send Barrow in too? After all, he stayed in the sealed area before he died.
