Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 305 Helga and Trelawney
Chapter 305 Helga and Trelawney
"Rice, help me!" Upon realizing that the person sitting next to her was Rice, Daphne did not hesitate and immediately reached out to Rice for help.
Rice really dislikes helping children with their homework. But after looking at the messy documents on the table and finding two divination assignments, he immediately softened.
While I was having a lively chat with my old friend, she was diligently helping me with my homework. What's wrong with helping a student like that?!
"What's wrong?" Rice wanted to hear what problem the girl had encountered.
"What kind of spell did Professor White use in class? I've checked so many books but couldn't find it—did you see it recorded in the letters of ancient wizards?"
After thinking for a moment, Rice told Daphne about the effects of the spell and how to break it.
"What a terrifying curse!" Daphne exclaimed. "Is this the war magic of ancient wizards?"
Rice nodded. Their magic back then was indeed more cruel, with many spells designed to cause as much damage as possible.
After getting the answer from Rice, Daphne's troubles were easily resolved. With the obstacle gone, she excitedly continued doing her homework.
While Rice was helping her child with homework, Helga also arrived at the West Tower.
After climbing the escalator, she entered the divination classroom and found that although there was no class at the moment, there were still several little girls surrounding Professor Trelawney watching her perform divination.
"Welcome, sage who does not belong to this era." Trelawney felt a chill run down her spine upon seeing his face. However, she showed no outward expression, simply greeting Helga in that ethereal voice.
Upon seeing Professor White, the girls present were quite excited, eagerly anticipating the conversation between Professor Trelawney and Professor White. However, to maintain her image, Trelawney found an excuse to kick them out—otherwise, if she were to be humiliated by this ancient wizard, her reputation would be completely ruined.
"Oh! We have been so immersed in the fog that obscures the future that our eyes are clouded by confusion. Lavender, Miss Parvati, if you don't set off soon, you'll be late. You'd better work twice as hard to make it in time."
Professor Trelawney's prompting made the girls realize they had lingered with her for far too long and it was almost time for class.
Several girls quickly got up from their cushions and hurriedly left the divination classroom.
"Please sit down." After the girls left, Trelawney politely invited Hufflepuff to sit down first.
Hufflepuff picked a ginger-yellow cushion to sit on, and then found a backpack next to her cushion, which must have been left there by the student who had just left it.
She casually put her schoolbag aside and began to examine Sybil Trelawney in front of her.
Helga didn't have any particular impression of the divination professor, except that she wore a lot of jewelry. While Hufflepuff was observing Trelawney, Trelawney was also observing Hufflepuff.
After a few seconds of careful consideration, Trelawney spoke.
"Even with my third eye, I am still unable to dispel the fog before my eyes due to the chaos of the world..." Trelawney spoke at length in cryptic language to the Hufflepuff sitting opposite her. In essence, it all boiled down to one question: What brings you here?
"I have met your ancestor, and she left a deep impression on me, so I have come to meet the descendant of that prophet," Helga explained her purpose.
Upon learning that the person before her was an ancestor of hers, Trelawney was both worried and delighted: she was pleased by White's praise, but also worried that her true nature would be exposed.
"The Trelawney family has the ability to divine in their blood." She could only reply with some truthful nonsense.
"A curse was also passed down along with it." Helga's face was full of regret. "Could you perform a divination for me?"
"With pleasure." Having come this far, Professor Trelawney certainly couldn't refuse. She thought for a moment, then took a crystal ball from a shelf at the edge of the classroom, preparing to conduct a crystal ball divination.
She first fixed the crystal ball to the table, then took out a brazier and began adding various herbs into it.
Seeing Professor Trelawney do this, Helga's eyes lit up: she remembered that the Trelawney family's prophet had also used this method to open the crystal ball for divination.
She remembered the herbal formula the prophet used perfectly!
The kind-hearted Hufflepuff drew her wand and summoned the various herbs needed for Trelawney's crystal ball divination. Some of these herbs were rare in the modern magical world, so she even used her own collection.
Trelawney: ?
She stared wide-eyed at the various herbs in the brazier, completely bewildered.
After packing the herbs, Helga said regretfully, "Dragon Blood Fern and Netherworld Guardian Leaves are becoming increasingly rare. Luckily, I still have some in stock. Without them, the effectiveness of the crystal ball divination will probably be greatly reduced."
Trelawney suddenly realized: Professor White had conjured these herbs to aid in divination with the crystal ball! Considering she had once met the Prophet, that meant…
The herbs in front of you are the herbal formula that the prophet used to assist in divination!
Trelawney couldn't sit still any longer. As a descendant of the prophet, she had inherited almost nothing except a surname; naturally, she knew nothing of herbal formulas or anything like that. But fate had other plans, bringing the wisdom of her ancestors into her life!
If she could, she would have loved to kick Professor White out of the divination class and then carefully examine what was in the basin, but she couldn't do that.
Trelawney could only suppress her excitement and replied in a slightly trembling voice, "Yes, without the aid of these two herbs, it's much more difficult to clear the barrier on my third eye. Thank you, Professor White..."
She muttered to herself, but her hands were busy. Professor Trelawney frantically stirred the herbs in the brazier, desperately trying to memorize the names of the herbs she recognized, and also trying her best to remember the appearance of the herbs she didn't know.
Once she felt she had remembered most of it, Professor Trelawney straightened up, lit the herbs in the brazier, and channeled the resulting smoke into the crystal ball.
According to the book's instructions, her next step should have been to analyze the shape of the smoke inside the crystal ball in order to interpret the prophecy. However, for some reason, perhaps due to accidentally inhaling some smoke, Trelawney felt dizzy.
"It's over..." These were her last thoughts before she fell into a coma.
