Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 306 The Interrupted Prophecy

Chapter 306 The Interrupted Prophecy

Professor Trelawney first held onto the edge of the table with her hand, then twisted her body into a strange angle, rolled her eyes upward, revealing two eerie white eyeballs.

Helga was initially startled by Trelawney's change, but then immediately realized that she was about to make a prophecy, and judging from her state, it was a rather extraordinary prophecy!

Although she had seen real prophets, she had never seen a diviner enter a similar state before, and she never expected to actually witness it today.

Hufflepuff became excited immediately: How many times in a lifetime can one encounter a prophet who has entered a state of ethereal clarity?!

She felt incredibly lucky. She immediately took two steps back, afraid of accidentally bumping into Trelawney and interfering with her divination.

Professor Trelawney was now completely unconscious, but instead of lying on the ground like a normal person, she leaned forward, pressing her body against the table, one hand tightly gripping the smoky crystal ball.

She suddenly opened her mouth and uttered a loud, hoarse voice: "This has already happened—the Dark Lord, repeatedly bruised and battered, is isolated and helpless, has no friends, and has been betrayed by his followers. The only person he can continue to use is himself."

His loyal servants have always been imprisoned, and no one is willing to break their shackles… But when he transforms from player to pawn, he will gain power at the cost of his freedom; he will be more powerful and more wicked than ever before, but the ropes that tether him will always be there—”

Hufflepuff's eyes widened, unwilling to miss a single detail. In her vision, Trelawney, who had been unremarkable before, suddenly emitted a very peculiar magical aura, seemingly resonating with her surroundings in a unique way.

She had seen similar magical fluctuations in that prophet.

bump!

Suddenly, a sharp sound came from one side of the room, and the trapdoor of the divination classroom was flung open, and a figure rushed in.

"Excuse me, Professor Trelawney, I forgot my bag at—" Lavender rushed into the classroom, only to be stunned by the scene before her: Professor White was sitting upright in an ugly cushion, while Professor Trelawney was slumped over the table in an extremely awkward position, one hand gripping a crystal ball and the other hand squeezing the table so hard that her knuckles turned white.

Upon hearing the noise Lavender made, Hufflepuff had a bad feeling. He turned his head and saw that Trelawney's eyes had indeed returned to normal.

Helga sighed inwardly, picked up the backpack next to the cushion, and tossed it into Lavender's arms.

"This should be your schoolbag."

Lavender seemed to snap out of a daze. After giving the two of them a strange look, he quickly thanked them and hurriedly left the divination classroom.

Professor Trelawney sat back down in her seat, looking bewildered; her memory was still stuck on the moment before she fainted.

What happened? Did I accidentally fall asleep? And what's with this weird position? Her mind was filled with countless questions, and then she suddenly realized an even more terrifying problem: she was giving Professor White a divination! How could a proper diviner fall asleep during a divination?!

She quickly forced herself to calm down, then stared at the crystal ball in front of her and began to study the mist inside.

After a moment's thought, she had prepared her explanation in her mind.

"I saw some ominous signs in the crystal ball." She sighed and continued in her ethereal voice, "Stay away from large gatherings as much as possible, because they may bring misfortune, even bad luck..."

Hufflepuff listened absentmindedly, still caught up in Trelawney's state, silently processing every word she uttered.

Trelawney went on and on with warnings, but she didn't hear a word she said; her attention was entirely focused on the Dark Lord.

Trelawney spoke for several minutes, only to find that Professor White showed absolutely no reaction. No matter what she said, Professor White did not exhibit any emotional fluctuation. Trelawney naturally lost interest in continuing and hastily ended her "prophecy."

Once Trelawney shut her mouth, Helga seemed to snap out of her daze. After a moment's hesitation, she asked Trelawney, "Professor Trelawney, do you think I'll ever see my friend again?"

Trelawney: ? ? ?

You, a person from hundreds of years ago, are asking me if you can see your friend again? I'm a fortune teller; this isn't my area of expertise! If you want to see the dead, you should go find the legendary Resurrection Stone.

"Let fate decide," she said casually.

"You're right." Hufflepuff nodded, chatted casually with Trelawney for a few moments, and then left the divination classroom.

After Professor White left the divination classroom, Trelawney didn't hesitate at all. She quickly took out a pen and paper and started writing down the herbal recipes she had noted down.

Then she discovered, to her dismay, that after accidentally falling asleep halfway through, she had forgotten most of the herbal recipes she had previously memorized!

Trelawney was on the verge of tears; she could only pin her hopes on Professor White now. She could simply use the crystal ball to tell Professor White's fortune the next time he came to her.

Helga, leaving the West Tower, felt no regret that Trelawney's prophecy had been interrupted, for as Trelawney had said, it was the work of fate, the very nature of divination. Even without Lavender, other unexpected events might have disrupted her prophecy—for example, a dazed raven crashing into the window of the divination classroom.

Moreover, she had already heard the most important part of the prophecy: a fallen dark wizard was about to make a comeback with the help of outsiders.

Having some knowledge of modern magical history, Helga immediately set her sights on the dark wizard known as Voldemort.

"Is Voldemort making a comeback? I'll talk to Salazar about it later." She silently kept this in mind, but didn't pay too much attention to it.

In her view, he was just a dark wizard, nothing to make a fuss about.

She returned to her office and immediately wrote a letter to Rice. After finishing the letter, she gently tapped it with her wand, and the letter turned into a little bird that flew out of her office door.

After a moment's thought, Helga decided to inform the current headmaster, Dumbledore, of what had just happened.

After all, he is the current principal! Since Salazar and I have chosen to respect him, he should also assume the corresponding obligations, shouldn't he?

So she wrote a second letter, recording in detail the prophecy she had heard in the divination class.
