Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 317 An Unquenchable Fury
Chapter 317 An Unquenchable Fury
Rice led the two little girls into the Quidditch pitch and found a seat in the Slytherin House stands.
Because of the rain today, rain shelters were set up in the stands, but a lot of fine raindrops were still blown into the stands by the wind. Fortunately, the Slytherin House stands are in a sheltered position, so less rain got in.
Rice waved his wand, wiping the water stains off the seat, and then sat down. The surrounding area gradually filled with young wizards, soaked to the bone, wrapped in thick cloaks and holding up umbrellas, desperately trying to ward off the wind and rain.
"Is there a spell to make the weather better?" Daphne frowned as she looked at the terrible weather outside the stands—not many people could stay in a good mood in this kind of weather.
"Yes." Rice glanced at the sky, then looked towards the Hufflepuff stands opposite, and sure enough, he saw a familiar figure in the front row of the stands.
Helga would probably be very unhappy if he cleared the rain clouds from the sky; she was counting on this downpour to bring victory to the Hufflepuff team.
Daphne blinked: Does such a spell really exist? It can even dispel this level of rain?
Just then, a sharp whistle blew across the field, and a cheer that could drown out the wind and rain erupted from the stadium—the match had begun.
The Gryffindor and Hufflepuff team members transformed into tiny red and yellow dots, speeding through the air.
The Gryffindor team's hard training paid off. At the beginning of the game, the heavy rain did not stop their fierce offensive. The Gryffindor team once led the Hufflepuff team by as much as fifty points.
But as their uniforms became soaked with rain and their joints stiffened from the cold, the gap between the two teams narrowed rapidly—thanks to the waterproof spell, the Hufflepuff team members maintained their excellent condition.
Wood was the first to realize something was wrong.
As the goalkeeper, he could clearly feel the opponent's intensifying attack, and the score gap between the two teams was gradually narrowing.
"Strange, why?" Wood couldn't understand why the Hufflepuff guys seemed unaffected by the heavy rain.
He began to observe the Hufflepuff players closely, and then he witnessed an astonishing scene: after hitting a powerful shot, Hufflepuff batter Kadwalad pulled a small bottle from his pocket and gulped down something.
Wood: !!!
His anger flared instantly: "Fine, you'll take the medicine, huh? I was wondering why you guys seem to be getting more and more aggressive!"
Without hesitation, he called a pause, then rode his broom to Kadwalad's side and dragged the bewildered man to Lady Hochi's side.
"He's taking the wrong medication! That's a foul!" Wood practically roared.
"I'm drinking cold medicine!" Kadvalad retorted, handing the small bottle to Mrs. Hooch. "There's no rule against drinking cold medicine, is there?"
Mrs. Hooch examined the contents of the bottle and then took it to the sidelines for the professors watching the game to examine. After discovering that it was indeed just ordinary cold medicine, she returned the bottle to Kadwalad.
The game continued, and Gryffindor earned a free throw due to Wood's timeout. Zacharias Smith Jr. tied the game with a well-placed shot.
Upon learning that the score was tied, thunderous cheers erupted from the Hufflepuff stands. Helga jumped up and down, just like the students around her, as excited as a child.
Sitting next to her, Professor Sprout slowly raised a question mark on his forehead: the score was tied, so why was Professor White more excited than he, the head of Hufflepuff? Could it be that she was once a Hufflepuff graduate?
Dumbledore didn't elaborate much on Helga's background, so Sprout was unaware that Helga was actually self-taught. However, after seeing her attire and performance at the tournament, Professor Sprout boldly speculated that Professor White was actually a Hufflepuff.
This guess is actually correct; she is indeed a Hufflepuff.
From a fifty-point lead to a tie, the Gryffindor players' mentality underwent a subtle shift. In short, they became impatient, and everyone, including Harry, sped up, giving Gryffindor the advantage once again.
But this advantage was built on impatience, and they soon swallowed the bitter pill: Hufflepuff took the lead in a beautiful counter-attack!
A wave of cheers erupted from the stands once again. Except for Gryffindor, the other three houses were overjoyed. Hufflepuff, of course, was ecstatic; Slytherin was practically laughing their heads off at seeing their old rival suffer a defeat; and Ravenclaw was delighted by the spectacular comeback.
Intense and intense emotions filled the Quidditch pitch at Hogwarts, like boiling water. At that moment, the pitch was like a boiling hot pot, spreading its "fragrance" far and wide.
Normally, it would just be a little noisy, but things are different now, with hundreds of Dementors stationed around Hogwarts.
The joy of Quidditch is fatally attractive to them, who feed on emotions. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Magic has recently experienced a shortage of supplies for the Dementors, leaving those stationed outside Hogwarts starving. This has pushed them to the brink of chaos.
From the start of the match, the Dementors became restless. After Hufflepuff completed their comeback and their joyful emotions erupted, the Dementors could no longer suppress their desires.
Driven by their desire for excitement, the Dementors overcame their awe of magic and gathered together, crossing the previously defined boundaries and embarking on a collective march toward Hogwarts.
Wherever they went, a chilling aura spread, raindrops turned to ice, and vegetation was first covered with frost, then ice. An evil aura began to emanate uncontrollably, enveloping the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch.
The young wizards, absorbed in their joy, did not notice anything amiss, but Ras and Helga in the Hufflepuff stands keenly sensed the strangeness emanating from the air.
The two squinted and looked into the distance. Soon, they identified the source of the anomaly: hundreds of dark creatures had crossed the boundaries of Hogwarts and were rushing towards them.
A fire of rage instantly ignited in Rice's heart, a fire that even a raging storm could not extinguish.
