Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...

Chapter 323 The Dementors Must Be Evacuated from Hogwarts

Chapter 323 The Dementors Must Be Evacuated from Hogwarts

"What does 'bury' mean?" For a moment, Lucius Malfoy felt that his English comprehension was not quite up to par.

"Literally, Lucius, they were buried underground during the invasion of Hogwarts."

Lucius slammed his cane on the floor. He could hardly believe his ears, and why had he never heard of this defensive magic in his seven years at Hogwarts? Did Hogwarts really have such a magical ability?

Slamming one's cane on the host's floor while visiting is obviously impolite, but the important figures present had no interest in dwelling on such a trivial matter; they were even more surprised than Lucius Malfoy.

"If they're buried in the ground, can't they come out?" Old Crabbe asked憨憨地.

The other wizards present fell silent for a moment, but Mr. Henry quickly broke the awkward silence.

"They were buried very deep, and because the pit was so close to the Black Lake, it caused a further collapse, and now the pit has become part of the Black Lake. I don't think they'll ever come out again." Henry shared the information he had received from Lord Slytherin with the wizards present.

To be honest, he was also shocked when he heard the news.

An ordinary wizard could easily banish a hundred Dementors with a Patronus Charm and send them to the Chocolate Frog picture, but Lord Slytherin went even further, burying them directly underground. He truly lived up to his reputation as the legendary wizard who founded Hogwarts.

"Good for them, they deserve it!" Old Flint said, indicating that the Dementors should have been prepared to pay the price when they entered Hogwarts.

"Then why did you call us here, Henry? The children weren't disturbed, and Dementors are just dead creatures, they're dead anyway," a Ministry of Magic official said with a smile. "If you just wanted to say that Hogwarts has defensive magic we don't know about, you could have just mentioned it in the letter."

Mr. Henry glanced at him and, upon realizing that this man was someone Fudge had promoted, couldn't help but snort.

Upon hearing this, the other parents in the hall subtly changed their expressions. Fudge's confidant tried to steer the conversation, but the attempt backfired.

"But the Dementors did invade Hogwarts after all, didn't they? Phoenicia, you should know the true nature of those beasts better than I do. If they stormed into the Quidditch pitch—" Mr. Henry stopped talking and just stared coldly at Phoenicia.

The other parents also turned to stare at him.

The gazes of such a large crowd made Phoebe break out in a cold sweat. He felt he should say something, and then he thought of Dumbledore. As if grasping at a straw, he immediately declared: With Dumbledore here, even if the Dementors broke into the stadium, he would be driven out.

Before he could finish speaking, Mr. Henry slammed his fist on the table beside him: "How can you be so sure Dumbledore was at the game? What if he wasn't there? You went to Hogwarts, you should know the distance between the castle and the stadium, right?"

The wizards present were becoming increasingly uneasy, and they were finally recovering from the initial shock of hearing the news that "the Dementors were destroyed by Hogwarts' defensive magic."

They were wiped out, but they also invaded Hogwarts! Even putting aside the sentimentality of their alma mater, their children are still studying at Hogwarts!

"When Dementors devour souls, they don't distinguish whether a student is pure-blood, half-blood, or from a Muggle family, nor do they care whose son he is or whose daughter she is—Phoebe, both of my daughters are at Hogwarts, both of them!" Henry initially only wanted to organize a group of wizards against Fudge as Lord Slytherin had requested, but as he spoke, his emotions became increasingly out of control because he truly realized the danger of yesterday.

Phoebe was completely speechless, and the other parents' expressions changed drastically: regardless of their stance, Henry was right—when Dementors feed on souls, everyone is truly equal!

Lucius Malfoy's face darkened. He squinted, his fingers tracing the handle of his cane. After a moment, he spoke, "Philipni, if you're getting too caught up in your work and becoming mentally unstable, we wouldn't mind transferring you to a less demanding position."

Fibini was now drenched in sweat. Among this room full of people, he was practically at the bottom of the food chain; he couldn't afford to offend anyone. He already regretted speaking up for Minister Fudge.

"This isn't the first time Dementors have come into close contact with students. They searched the Hogwarts Express before, but that was done under orders from the Ministry of Magic. This time, to put it bluntly, it's a rebellion!" Henry's words sent a chill down everyone's spine.

Rebellion? That sounds a bit too strong...

"No, no, that's not fair," someone immediately stepped in to smooth things over: "Henry, that's a bit too harsh!"

Henry was silent for two seconds, but before he could speak, Lucius spoke.

"How can you call it a rebellion? The Ministry of Magic didn't even send anyone to monitor the Dementors! They really trust these monsters!"

The sarcastic tone in his words was quite obvious.

He was now quite dissatisfied with Fudge's arrangements because he had suddenly realized: why deploy Dementors around Hogwarts? It was to capture the escaped Sirius Black. And why go to so much trouble with Sirius? Because he wanted revenge on Harry Potter!

From Lucius's perspective, what does it matter to him whether the Potter boy gets hurt? The blame lies with the Gryffindors living in the tower, even if he's worried about collateral damage!

Placing Dementors near Hogwarts would be detrimental to both himself and his son. Why should his child sacrifice himself for that Potter? With this in mind, he immediately became an opponent of deploying Dementors near Hogwarts.

"Connelly's actions were somewhat reckless. Bringing the Dementors here was really not a good idea," Marcus's father, Flint Sr., stated, expressing his position.

Lucius Malfoy immediately followed suit, also expressing his dissatisfaction with Fudge. With someone taking the lead, those present no longer hesitated and quickly reached a consensus: the Dementors must be evacuated from Hogwarts.

Of course, this statement is essentially meaningless. Whether Fudge agrees or disagrees with the proposal, the Dementors who invaded Hogwarts that day will never be able to leave that land.
