Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 505 Zeus: Please, let's be gods together for a lifetime, okay?
Chapter 505 Zeus: Please, let's be gods together for the rest of our lives, okay?
Upon hearing the words of the God-King, a hint of confusion flashed in the eyes of the surrounding gods. Only a few senior gods on Mount Olympus knew what the God-King was referring to, but even those who knew more showed a hint of horror in their eyes.
Are we really going to have to use that supreme treasure? In the past, no matter how difficult the crisis, the God-King had never used it. Why is he going to have to use it today?
Although they had some doubts, the God-King's authority had been established for so long that no one dared to disobey His divine decree at this critical juncture.
Soon, an ordinary-looking stone, resembling a spindle, was delivered to Zeus.
"Very good, this will deal with those stubborn guys." Zeus gripped the stone tightly and revealed a confident smile.
Unable to defeat the Four Wizards, and unable to return to the Underworld for refuge after their resurrection, they had no choice but to rely on their hidden resources. Fortunately, they had hidden this treasure well enough that those Norse bastards hadn't found it.
The thought of having to use this precious resource made Zeus extremely distressed.
He thought it best to talk to the four wizards first; perhaps they could communicate with them?
What kind of era is this? Why do we have to fight and kill each other? Wouldn't it be better if we all became gods together?
Zeus, who had been lying dormant in the underworld for thousands of years, had long lost his former fighting spirit. Now, he only wanted to be the king of the gods in his own little corner of the world.
In Zeus's view, the people who came with such ferocity to take his life were all nearly as powerful as the king of the gods. Fighting them would be a lose-lose situation, so it would be better for everyone to cooperate and achieve a win-win outcome.
"You all retreat first. I'll try to communicate with those four people," Zeus instructed the gods surrounding him.
"Father, why not just fight those guys to the death?" Ares, the god of war, finally couldn't contain his suppressed emotions any longer. His belligerent nature made him believe that his father could easily summon the Olympian gods and wage a final battle against those wizards.
They might not necessarily win!
Zeus looked at Ares with the eyes of someone looking at a fool, and sighed from the bottom of his heart that even after spending so long in the underworld, he hadn't made his foolish son any smarter.
The God of War does not refer to a god with great fighting power, but rather to someone who enjoys fighting and is reckless and foolish.
"Apart from the twelve Olympians, the other gods aren't even qualified to enter that realm, so what's the point of talking about a decisive battle?" Poseidon rebuked with a grim face. "After this battle, how many of us twelve will be able to return to Mount Olympus? We probably won't even be able to return to the Underworld!"
Poseidon, the ruler of the ocean, had no desire to clash with those monsters.
"That's settled then. You all retreat first, I'll go and deal with them!" Zeus waved his hand, making the final decision.
The decision made by the God-King was irreversible, so all the gods bowed in agreement.
After that, the gods quickly withdrew from Mount Olympus, while Zeus took the initiative, unleashing billions of bolts of lightning to meet the already enormous dark cloud.
The two sides met in northern Greece, where two different visions collided and clashed.
Suddenly, a storm raged, with lightning and thunder.
A few minutes later, the lightning gradually faded away, and only occasional flashes of lightning could be seen through the clouds.
"Wait!" Zeus roared, struggling to break free from the combined domain of the four opponents.
At this moment, Zeus had completely lost the majesty of the king of the gods. His magnificent beard had been burned, and the remaining whiskers were covered with burn marks. A large hole had been ripped open in his abdomen, but not a drop of blood had flowed from around the hole. The wound had an eerie white and dry appearance, like dried meat that had been drained of its blood.
Zeus was secretly alarmed as he assessed his terrible condition.
He had heard of these four people before, but without actually fighting them, he couldn't appreciate their power.
According to Zeus's own judgment, he would die after another five minutes of fighting.
Even if the remaining dozen or so main gods were called up, the outcome wouldn't change; they seem to be very good at this level of combat.
Zeus emerged from the clouds, revealing his form, and the four members of the Rhys also appeared from the clouds, floating in mid-air and confronting Zeus from afar.
It wasn't that they wanted to drag things out, but rather that Zeus, as the king of the gods, was incredibly powerful. If He wanted, He could always buy himself the time to leave a few final words.
Zeus's eyebrows twitched violently as his gaze swept over the divine artifacts each of the four men was equipped with.
These four are all formidable figures. If He is not mistaken, this should be made from the legendary Aesir gods.
To be fair, no god would willingly become a weapon of their enemy after death, and Zeus was no exception.
"I have something to say, please listen carefully..." Zeus began, earnestly trying to persuade the four of them, including Rhys.
His main point of persuasion was only one: We are all extraordinary beings, so why fight to the death? If we strive to become beings above all others, is the purpose to kill each other like wild beasts?
Why can't we all sit down, calmly divide up the territory, and then start having fun?
Upon hearing Zeus's words, Godric burst out laughing.
"You're quite different from Odin and his gang, you god."
Zeus resisted the urge to roll his eyes: If Odin knew how strong the four of you were, He would be very peaceful and wouldn't try to take over the island of Britain.
"At that time, only the Aesir remained in the world, so it's normal for Him to be mentally unbalanced," Zeus commented on his junior.
When the Norse gods rose to power, most of the other gods had already disappeared. Whether it was the Egyptian gods, the Sumerian pantheon, or the Olympian gods, they had all retreated to the underworld, leaving only the Aesir and their family. How could they not become arrogant?
As a result, it crashed into a steel plate and was completely destroyed.
"How did you perish?" Godric wanted to say something more, but Rice interrupted him, asking a question that both he and Rowena were concerned about.
Why did the gods disappear? The Norse gods know how they disappeared, but what about the other pantheons?
When the four of them were born, the gods of Greece, Egypt, Sumer and other places had already disappeared, leaving only the Norse gods. How did this happen?
Surely the Norse gods couldn't have wiped out other pantheons, could they? Did they even have that ability?
"We have chosen to enter the underworld in order to seek resurrection." Zeus was exceptionally patient with the four, answering every question they asked.
"The rise and fall of pantheons is an inevitable destiny, just as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. A pantheon has its time of prosperity, and it will inevitably decline one day. Nothing can defy the laws of fate, and no creature can truly exist forever, not even the omnipotent and omniscient gods," Zeus said earnestly. "Therefore, everyone will choose to end their lives when their day of decline arrives, and then enter the underworld to plan for the future—and by future I mean the present. Do you understand what I mean?"
