Ancient Wizards Return to Hogwarts...
Chapter 516 The Death of Voldemort
Chapter 516 The Death of Voldemort
A simple thunderous explosion couldn't kill Voldemort, but it certainly left him in a rather sorry state.
After he twisted his body in mid-air and successfully stood firm on the roof, he was able to see who had launched the surprise attack.
He was a rather handsome black-haired boy. Voldemort remembered him; he seemed to be a member of the Lint family.
"I knew it, that attack wouldn't have killed you—if I couldn't even dodge it, I'd be really disappointed." Rhys didn't rush to continue his attack, but instead chatted with Voldemort.
"I have a suggestion: you take your own life, and I'll give the rat to Dumbledore. That way, everyone's happy, what do you say?"
Voldemort could hardly believe his ears: not only was he going to hand over his servant, but he was also going to commit suicide?!
Is this human talk?
"It's still daytime, yet you're having such a good dream." Voldemort let out a cold laugh, responding with a Killing Curse.
After easily dodging the so-called Unforgivable Curse, Rice casually knocked Peter unconscious as he huddled in a corner trying to escape.
This little mouse is quite good at hiding. If we don't knock him out now, we'll have to spend a lot of time looking for him later.
Voldemort watched coldly as Rhys dealt with Peter Pettigrew.
To him, a cowardly servant was of little importance.
Seeing that Voldemort was unwilling to accept his proposal, Rice did not show any unusual emotion.
The current Voldemort hasn't experienced his own beatings and still harbors unrealistic fantasies. It's time for him to face reality.
He flicked his wand, and a silver python shot out from the tip, heading straight for Voldemort.
Voldemort then pointed his wand, causing several sets of decorative armor in the mansion to come to life and pounce on Rice.
"Let me see how you differ from me!" Rhys roared, blasting the three suits of armor that lunged at him into pieces while urging his Patronus to pounce on Voldemort.
"Hmph!" Voldemort didn't understand what Rice was saying.
He casually conjured a python formed from black smoke, which entangled with Rice's guardian spirit, and then attempted to restore the shattered armor.
"It's all in vain." Rice stomped his foot lightly, causing the armor that had barely managed to come together to return to its fragmented state.
"Avada Kedavra!" Voldemort's wand flew high into the sky, hanging like the sun, and then one killing curse after another poured out from the tip of the wand, crashing down on Rhys.
Suddenly, a large hole appeared beneath Rice's feet, and he fell through it, letting the mansion floor absorb the killing curse released by Voldemort.
"Has it turned into a rat?" Voldemort's sarcastic remark was cut short as a sense of foreboding flashed through his mind.
He suddenly shifted his body to the side, dodging a strong gust of wind.
Voldemort felt a chill on his left arm, and when he turned his head, he realized that half of his arm had been severed.
"When? What happened?" His gaze caught a few glimmers of light in the air, and Voldemort suddenly realized what was going on.
So that's how it is!
Ice, that guy froze the water in the air into ice, and then took advantage of my inattention to attack me hard!
Voldemort had never even seen such magic before.
He suddenly understood why the young man was so confident. He certainly had the right to be so arrogant.
Voldemort even had a fleeting thought: that guy might actually be a bit stronger than him.
The thought flashed through Voldemort's mind in an instant. He refused to give up and was unwilling to accept the fact that a child who was not yet an adult was stronger than him.
His eyes turned bloodshot.
The next moment, the entire Riddle mansion shook. A few seconds later, with a deafening explosion, the entire Riddle mansion was reduced to ruins.
Voldemort was certain that if that person dared to linger in the mansion, he would be blown to pieces.
However, he felt that with that person's strength, it was unlikely that things would end so easily.
Strangely, after the explosion, the young man from the Lint family disappeared without a trace.
"Could they have escaped?" A thought flashed through Voldemort's mind: "Given that Lord Voldemort is not someone who can be easily defeated, the conclusion that he fled is reasonable."
"Could a boy with such power be the kind of person who would back down easily?" Voldemort's mind was in turmoil.
But he wasn't idle either. Taking advantage of a lull in the battle, he reattached his severed arm. Then he flicked his wand, and the lawn in front of the mansion surged.
One after another, corpses in varying degrees of decomposition were pulled out from inside.
In the days following his resurrection, Voldemort had not overlooked the possibility of Dumbledore coming to kill him, and these corpses were a "gift" he had prepared for Dumbledore.
I don't expect these corpses to solve Dumbledore's problems; they'll just cause him some trouble.
Rice reappeared a short distance away and casually tossed Peter into the bushes. Those ten seconds he'd been gone were wasted on this rat.
With an explosion of that magnitude, unless Peter had incredible luck, his chances of surviving would be virtually zero.
Peter is still useful and cannot die for the time being, so Lester specially took him out of the mansion.
Upon learning that Voldemort had reattached his severed arm, Rice smiled and said, "Tom, how can you not clean the wound when reattaching a severed limb?"
Didn't you notice the ice chips on the cut surface of the wound?
Rhys strolled leisurely toward the ruins of the Riddle mansion, clumps of dirt flying up at him as he walked, forming a layer of mud armor around him.
Upon arriving at the mansion ruins, Rice was relieved to find that Voldemort hadn't fled; in fact, he seemed to be waiting for him.
When he saw the young man return, covered in soot as if he had rolled around in a swamp, Voldemort couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"You don't think this mud can stop my spell, do you? Then you're a true Mudblood." Voldemort said sarcastically.
Rice glanced at him, didn't answer, and charged straight at Voldemort.
This battle should come to an end.
To be honest, Voldemort is quite capable; he can make me feel like I'm warming up.
Voldemort had expected the young man to come up with some new and exciting spells to broaden his horizons, but instead he adopted a primitive, Muggle-like attack method, which greatly disappointed Voldemort.
He casually cast a killing spell, deciding to end the battle that had become tedious.
Voldemort also knew that sometimes the Killing Curse would be ineffective if the barrier was thick enough—the Killing Curse only works when it hits a human body. Therefore, this Killing Curse was carefully modified by Voldemort and was completely different from the stupid Killing Curse of ordinary dark wizards.
This Killing Curse is a combination of the Explosion Curse and the Killing Curse, and it also has a certain degree of tracking ability.
On the surface, it appears to be a simple killing curse, but it is actually an explosion curse combined with a killing curse, with subsequent incantations controlling the direction of these two curses.
Whether Rice tried to block the killing curse with mud or attempted to dodge it, it was all in vain!
Voldemort sneered, deciding to use a spell that would showcase his extraordinary magical power to kill this suddenly appearing youth, in recognition of his excellent performance at the start of the battle.
To his surprise, Rice was also quite delighted, never expecting Voldemort to come up with such a new trick for him.
"It was definitely worth the trip!" Rice nodded, then neither dodged nor avoided the spell, letting it strike his chest.
"I've been hit! It's over!" Voldemort roared inwardly with glee.
To his utter astonishment, the pale green spell lost its connection with him after sinking into the soil, failing to explode or exert its normal killing spell effect.
At the same time, the young man had already sprinted in front of him.
The wand in his hand became slender, looking just like a tree branch, a fragile, easily broken branch.
But Voldemort had a premonition that being poked by this branch would probably have more serious consequences than being hit by a meteorite.
Voldemort cleared his mind of all distractions and put aside his confusion—he had to withstand this attack before he could even think about the problem he had just encountered.
Faced with Rice's attack, Voldemort prepared an Ironclad Charm and a wall of earth that would rise from the ground. But just as he was about to cast the spell, a chill ran through his body, freezing his movements for a moment.
This was clearly a trap set by Rice.
"Huh? When—" Voldemort was taken aback, then recalled the slight chill that came from the wound when the severed arm was pressed against it.
He initially thought it was just the severed limb losing temperature in the air, and the pain from the wound was also interfering with his thinking, so he didn't pay much attention to the abnormality in his arm.
In retrospect, that's when Rice took advantage of the situation.
Voldemort's body stiffened for only a brief moment, but that was enough for him.
The thin branch in his hand pierced Voldemort's chest, penetrating his entire body and emerging from his back.
Voldemort looked down incredulously at the branch stuck in his chest; he simply couldn't understand how it had gotten there.
He placed his hand on the branch, trying to pull it out.
But the moment his hand touched the branch, the life force in his body burst forth like a flood, and was completely absorbed by the branch on his chest.
Voldemort's face visibly aged, and within seconds he was indistinguishable from a corpse.
He fell backward, face up, and crashed to the ground, his eyes losing their light.
Voldemort is dead.
With a wave of his hand, the branch transformed back into a magic wand and flew back into his hand.
He glanced at Voldemort's corpse, then frowned: the stench around here was unbearable.
After Voldemort died, the horde of corpses he had summoned instantly lost their source of magic and became real corpses, with the stench of their bodies quickly emanating from them.
Rice had no intention of cleaning up Voldemort's mess.
Considering that the explosion at Riddle House had most likely alerted nearby Muggles, Rice used Apparition to leave the now-ruined Riddle House with Voldemort's corpse, Nagini, and Peter Pettigrew.
A few minutes later, several Muggle residents living nearby arrived together and were shocked to find that Riddle House had been reduced to ruins, with dozens of corpses in varying degrees of decomposition scattered around.
Such a bizarre scene adds another layer of mystery to Riddle Mansion, which already had a tendency to become an urban legend.
After Apparating with a bunch of "things" to what he thought was a quiet place, Rice casually tossed Peter onto the dusty, decaying floor and then fell into deep thought.
He was pondering why he was still stuck here.
Voldemort is dead, and the fate of this world should have been greatly disrupted, so why hasn't he been able to exhaust the power of the Wishing Stone and return to their world?
Could that stone truly possess boundless magic, capable of eternally sealing four powerful individuals like myself in a parallel world?
Rice thought it was unlikely.
According to the gods' classification, all four of them, except for Rowena who is in a precarious state, are at the level of chief gods, with Helga even being a fully realized, original form. The difficulty of sealing all four of them indefinitely is simply too great.
So, you're saying that you haven't actually been able to significantly change the fate of this world?
Rice was puzzled: Was it because Voldemort wasn't completely dead?
Just then, he heard rustling sounds coming from the first floor of the room, which then turned into the sound of human footsteps. Rice couldn't help but be very curious: he had chosen the infamous Screaming Shack for peace and quiet, so how come he was running into people here?
His doubts were quickly answered as Sirius Black walked up the stairs from the first floor.
He was extremely surprised; why would he encounter someone in such a place?
Before Sirius could react, Rice used a petrification spell to control him.
Upon recognizing who had attacked him, Sirius's eyes narrowed sharply, filled with disbelief.
Rice took Sirius's wand and then lifted the petrification spell from him.
"Why are you here?" he asked Sirius, and then he found the answer himself: it was for Harry, of course.
It's quite normal for Sirius to rush to the vicinity of Hogwarts after he caused a little commotion there.
Sirius Black looked at the "student" before him who had slaughtered two high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Magic and stormed Gringotts to wreak havoc, his expression extremely complex.
However, to be fair, he felt that what the boy had done had some positive aspects. For example, the Order of the Phoenix's operations were finally unhindered, and the goblins were more obedient to the Ministry of Magic.
"Les Lint, you—"
Rice interrupted Sirius, saying that he had come at the right time, as he also needed to speak with him.
Sirius's expression immediately became wary.
No matter how young Rice looks, he is still a monster with blood on his hands. What good could he possibly want from him?
