Chapter 235 Goodbye Lucifer
Chapter 235 Goodbye Lucifer
Dilapidated streets.
A cold wind howled, whipping up fallen autumn leaves.
"Splash!"
The maple leaves rustled as they brushed against the street.
"Rich's house is in the very corner."
Constantine slumped his shoulders and pointed to the far end of a row of houses on the street.
"Um?"
Following the direction Constantine was pointing, Gino frowned.
In front of a dilapidated apartment, several blurry black figures were seen leaping and floating around the building.
They looked like the Grim Reaper from mythology, shrouded in a dark white veil.
"grim Reaper?"
Zatanna also saw the Grim Reapers surrounding the doors of the house.
"This man deserves to die." Zatanna glanced at Constantine with a puzzled look. "Why would we need a dead man?"
"If I'm not mistaken," Gino chuckled, glancing at the sheepish Constantine, "this guy must have screwed over this unfortunate fellow named 'Rich.'"
This is not an unfounded accusation; Constantine is indeed a terrible person.
He demands something in return for everything he does. If he helps you, sooner or later you will be taken advantage of by him, sometimes at the cost of your life.
"whee."
As the group approached, seemingly sensing the presence of living beings, several Death Gods slowly turned around and stared at them.
Beneath those masks were illusory faces.
"Constantine!"
The leader of the demons immediately noticed the disheveled man hiding in the corner among the three.
They let out mocking laughter: "Look who it is!"
"Constantine was cheated and swindled."
"He thinks he's Constantine."
"Those rejected by both Heaven and Hell."
It must be said that these Grim Reapers are quite good at cursing, but Constantine's skin is obviously even thicker.
He chose to ignore these insults from the Grim Reaper.
Seeing that they couldn't break Constantine's defenses, the Grim Reapers turned their attention to Zatanna and Gino, who were traveling with them.
"Look at this girl, your heart is full of sorrow and heavy secrets. You can't accept the departure of your loved ones."
Upon hearing Death's words, Zatanna's face turned pale.
Her father's death was a lifelong pain for her.
The Grim Reapers shook their heads, then looked again at Gino beside the girl: "And look at this blond kid!"
"We can feel you..."
Before the Grim Reapers finished speaking, they could already feel the immense magical energy emanating from the boy's body, as vast as the Milky Way and the universe.
"If I were you," Gino sighed, a warm golden flame blazing in his hand, "I would get out of here."
The magical energy from Lucifer was like a torch of heaven, containing a terrifying surge of energy.
The scorching, blazing energy fluctuations were as magnificent as the blazing sun flashing in the night.
"Me, my eyes!"
"Such powerful magical energy!"
Seemingly injured by the scorching sun, the Grim Reapers scattered in panic, screaming as they drifted into the sky.
The resulting howling wind rattled the eaves and windows.
"Damn it, who's making a racket in front of my house!"
The loud noise woke the homeowner, and a figure pushed open the door, his voice hoarse: "I smell magic, and someone's stench!"
The figure slowly took a step forward, letting the moonlight shine on him, revealing a emaciated body.
The flesh had sunk so deep it was almost embedded in the bone.
Just by looking at him, you can tell he's very weak; a gust of wind could probably knock him over.
"I once said I didn't want you to appear in front of me again." The bespectacled man with a cane shook his head, his gaze falling on Zatanna and Gino.
"A magician, and the famous Justice League captain Gino Luthor."
The man weakly raised his arm: "I am so glad to see the hero who has saved the earth countless times."
"Thank you." Gino smiled and shook the man's outstretched hand.
"So, what brings you here?" The man named Richie tilted his head, puzzled.
"It's for the Kasanti key."
Constantine spoke first.
"I received instructions from a magic circle; I need your tools."
The so-called Kasanti Key is a magical item that can access the mental world of others.
Magic can destroy and create, but the "dreams" that govern the major orders of the universe are not under the jurisdiction of magic.
"I'm willing to lend it to Mr. Gino and this lady," Richie smiled, glancing at Constantine. "But don't expect to touch it!"
He took a key out of his pocket and handed it to Gino.
The pink key felt slightly cool to the touch, and its base, made of an unknown material, was engraved with a medieval witch doctor mask statue.
As Gino put the keys in his pocket, he overheard Zatanna asking Richie with some curiosity, "Why are you so weak?"
These words seemed to open up a floodgate of information for Richie, who stared at Constantine with a cold smile: "Because some damn bastard screwed me over."
"You've cast an unbreakable magical curse upon me, damned Constantine..."
....
Say goodbye to the talkative Richie.
Gino and the other two felt a headache coming on.
"Zatanna, don't spout unnecessary nonsense next time," Constantine sighed, unable to stop complaining.
"Shut up, it's all because what you did was despicable!" Zatanna glared at Constantine.
"What's next?" Gino interrupted their argument and got straight to the point.
"Back to the Mystery House," Constantine sighed. "This kind of thing requires consulting a big shot."
"What do you mean?" Gino frowned.
"That's right, the guy who possesses the same Heavenly Magic as you."
Constantine smiled and winked at Gino: "Although your strengths are roughly equal, the other has lived for hundreds of millions of years; he can be called a walking encyclopedia."
.....
Return to the mystery house.
It was the familiar golden magic circle. Constantine rubbed his hands together and threw a few pieces of dried rat meat and a moldy cake into the golden magic circle.
"Lucifer?" Constantine chuckled as he continued to toss disgusting offerings into the magic circle, muttering strange incantations.
Accompanied by a shimmering golden light.
"Crack!"
As if appearing out of thin air, blackened mud dripped from the ceiling above the eaves.
The familiar scene made Zatanna feel slightly dazed.
I remember seeing this scene myself a few months ago.
A vast and boundless aura swept across the entire hall.
Gino took a step forward indifferently.
As she walked forward, Zatanna felt the suffocating sensation dissipate.
"Gino Luther".
A black-haired young man with a perfect physique and handsome face, dressed in a white suit, descended from the sky with golden eyes.
Standing on the floor, he smiled and looked at Gino.
The man grinned wickedly and opened his arms, but when facing Gino, he acted like an old friend he hadn't seen in years, his attitude warm and eager: "Long time no see, won't you give me a hug?"
