Chapter 277 Four People, One Scene After Another
After leaving Warner Bros. Studios, Martin drove his Escalade, carrying Aniston, straight to the Marmont Hotel on Sunset Boulevard.
In the rearview mirror, besides Bruce's Volkswagen, another car was following behind.
Martin had seen Julie's car several times when he went to the hotel for his rendezvous.
She seems to be having a lot of fun, even resorting to stalking.
Aniston also noticed the Volkswagen behind them: "That car has been following us since Burbank."
Martin explained, "That's Bruce, my bodyguard and manager. He's been with me ever since the Burbank incident."
Aniston glanced at Martin, thinking that he was a hero of the city, and felt that his aura of attraction had grown even stronger.
Upon arriving at the Marmont Hotel, Martin drove directly into the underground parking lot and took the elevator with Aniston to the second floor.
Aniston automatically took Martin's arm, as naturally as a real couple.
During the afternoon rehearsal, she specifically mentioned that she needed to work with Martin beforehand to cultivate the feeling of a couple between the male and female leads.
Upon entering the restaurant and arriving at the reserved table, Martin handed Aniston a menu, and they each ordered their food.
Aniston specifically emphasized, "It's my treat tonight."
Martin said, "Fine, I won't fight you for it."
Aniston was thinking ahead: "You can invite me next time."
From preparation to filming to release, "Never Ending" will take at least a year, during which time the two will inevitably have many interactions. Aniston didn't intend to have a one-time affair with Martin.
Martin handed the menu back to the waiter, and after everyone left, he said, "Having dinner with my goddess was something I could only dream of before."
Aniston asked, "You really like me... I mean, Rachel."
"Of course, I've said it before, you were with me throughout my adolescence!" Martin said this without even thinking, "In my house in Atlanta, there were always posters of Rachel on the walls, my entire bedroom was covered with posters of her! You were there when I opened my eyes, you were there when I closed my eyes, and you were even in my dreams."
Aniston, being a married woman, blurted out naturally, "Tell me, did you do something bad in front of my poster?"
Martin just smiled but didn't say anything.
Because he really didn't do it; there wasn't a single Rachel poster in his Atlanta house.
"You little rascal!" Aniston decided to discipline the puppy. "Confess now! If you don't, I'll torture you!"
She picked up the knife: "The consequences..."
Martin dutifully raised his hand: "Really, nothing. What could I do to the poster? I'm not a pervert."
Aniston leaned forward, drawing out her voice, "Really?"
Martin's smile vanished abruptly, replaced by a serious expression.
Aniston frowned slightly. Was this puppy so easily teased?
Martin said in a low voice, "Pete is here."
Aniston felt relieved and glanced in the direction of Martin's gaze. She saw Pete and his manager enter the restaurant and sit at a table a dozen meters away.
Martin offered, "Jane, shall we go to another place?" He seemed unusually considerate: "It's not that I'm afraid of him, I'm just worried that he might come and bother you and ruin your good mood."
Aniston, who had been lamenting her bad luck at running into such a jerk as Pete, perked up at Martin's words and said, "Why should we leave? Are we supposed to hide wherever he is from now on?"
"That's not what I meant." Martin smiled sheepishly and said, "He attacked me last time because of some gossip in the media. Jane, I just didn't want to put you in a difficult position."
Aniston found that this little puppy was very considerate without much training, so she reached out and patted Martin's hand reassuringly: "I'm divorced from him, so even if there was something between us, it has nothing to do with him."
Martin shook Aniston's hand in return: "Okay, I'll do as you say."
Aniston glanced at Pete again and saw him staring at her and Martin right there on the table. She took Martin's hand and said, "I'm sorry you had to go through what happened at Avalon Bar last time, I..."
Before he could finish speaking, the words caught in his throat.
Because Aniston noticed that at a table in the far corner, a woman pulled out a chair and sat down alone.
Angelina Jolie!
It seemed Julie hadn't noticed her; she was just talking to the waiter.
Aniston cursed a hundred times in her mind, and then cursed her bad luck tonight. She had finally managed to get Martin to go out to dinner, but she ended up running into Julie and Pitt, those two scumbags.
"What's wrong?" Martin asked with concern.
Aniston figured Julie was too far away for Martin to notice, so, being an actress, she said naturally, "I apologize for what happened last time, because I caused you so much trouble."
"No, Jane, I can't accept this," Martin said before she could speak. "You have nothing to do with him now, and you can't apologize to anyone for his stupidity and arrogance."
Aniston nodded with satisfaction.
Just then, she noticed something was wrong and turned her gaze slightly. It turned out that Julie had spotted her and was looking in her direction.
Julie suddenly raised her glass to her, striking a victorious pose as always.
Aniston's years as an actress ensured that she showed no signs of distress, continuing her enthusiastic conversation with Martin, occasionally scratching his palm with the hand she was holding.
Martin smiled very happily, like a puppy that had just been suckled.
When the food arrived, Julie had no appetite and kept glancing at the couple dining intimately.
She was enduring it with great difficulty, as if she were being roasted by raging flames, her face contorted and almost deformed.
At the same time, he cursed inwardly: Is this kind of game fun? It's perverted!
Aniston noticed the change in Julie's face, put down her knife and fork, wiped her mouth, and guessed that the bitch was probably so angry that her expression was contorted.
The restaurant was full of celebrities, and she had to endure it because she was concerned about her image, self-esteem, and face.
At this moment, Aniston felt much better and almost wanted to burst out laughing.
Julie took hers, and she took Julie's back. Is there a problem?
Aniston looked up, seemingly smiling at Martin, but actually at Julie.
She noticed that Martin had a strong interest in meat, so she picked up her knife and fork, cut off a small piece of tender lamb chop, and brought it to Martin's mouth: "Try this, it's very well made."
Martin nodded and took a bite of the meat.
Aniston also cut a piece of meat, forked it, and put it in her mouth, making sure to hold the fork in her mouth.
Martin had a crazy female fan who was his perfect teacher, and he stared at Aniston like a lovesick male fan.
While Martin looked down, Aniston glanced at Julie and noticed that Julie's face was even more contorted.
From her perspective, Julie looked like she was about to explode with anger.
Julie picked up the chilled red wine and drank it all in one gulp, which somewhat calmed her fiery temper.
On the other side, the food in front of Pete hadn't been touched at all.
He held a knife in one hand and a fork in the other, and the veins on the back of his hands bulged out from the force.
Right before his eyes, Aniston actually fed Martin!
What's even more infuriating is that the two of them didn't even glance at him, completely ignoring Brad Pitt.
The manager quickly advised, "Don't be impulsive. She's just your ex-wife; you're divorced."
Pete growled, "But I want to get her back!"
"If you do nothing now, there might still be hope," the manager could only try to persuade. "If you really do something, there will be no hope at all."
Pete's eyes widened suddenly as he saw the shameless couple getting closer and closer, with Aniston letting Martin kiss her cheek.
Asshole!
He felt his neck was so heavy that he could hardly lift his head.
The manager noticed this and suggested, "Let's leave first."
Pete shook his head and noticed that Martin and Aniston were both looking in his direction.
Martin smiled and nodded to Pete, greeting him politely.
The moment Aniston looked at Pitt, the smile vanished from her face, turning as cold as ice.
Pete told his manager, "Wait a bit before you leave."
After the two paid their bill, he followed suit.
The two men left the restaurant and went to the hotel lobby, and he followed them there.
Then, he saw Aniston book a room and go into the elevator with Martin.
Pete knew without even thinking what would happen next.
He walked forward blankly, arrived at the rest area, and plopped down on a sofa chair.
The manager wanted to speak, but after glancing at Pete's dejected face, he decided it was best to say nothing.
Pitt suddenly saw Jolie. Jolie went to the lobby reception, booked a room, and seemed to be hiding from someone. She waited for a while before entering the elevator.
What's going on? Did Angelina Jolie come to catch him cheating? No, Martin Davis's publicly acknowledged girlfriend isn't Angelina Jolie.
Julie's expression doesn't seem to match either.
Pitt knows Jolie better than Aniston does, and Jolie is clearly extremely excited.
Just as Martin and his companion went upstairs, Julie followed...
Pete considered a possibility, jumped to his feet, then slumped back down, muttering to himself, "How...how could they be so shameless!"
The manager didn't understand what Pete meant.
Pete slowly stood up and said, "Let's go."
Seeing that he was willing to leave, the manager finally breathed a sigh of relief. He had been worried all night that if Pete went to him again, he would get beaten up by Martin Davis.
After leaving the Marmont Hotel, Pete went to the nearby parking lot and kicked a car tire, making a dull thud.
The manager didn't stop him; Pete needed to vent.
Before Pete could kick him a second time, his cell phone rang in his pocket.
Pete pulled out a landline number, answered it, and said, "This is Brad Pitt."
"Stay away from me from now on!" Aniston's voice came through the phone, urgent and harsh. "Don't let me see you again. I have nothing to do with you. Knowing you was the stupidest thing I ever did!"
Pete slammed his phone to the ground and roared at the sky!
