Chapter 522 Martin is a good doctor
Chapter 522 Martin is a good doctor
In the not-so-spacious room, Leonardo sat alone on the sofa rocking chair, seemingly asleep, without making a sound.
In a daze, he seemed to hear some noise. He opened his eyes and looked around, but found nothing unusual. He picked up the dart next to him and threw it casually.
Maybe I got incredibly lucky, because the dart hit the center of the target.
Leonardo closed his eyes again, pondering where to go after get off work to meet up with models and relax.
As he was thinking, Martin and Nicholson's faces suddenly flashed before his eyes. He quickly shook his head vigorously. He was thinking about a blonde, long-legged supermodel. Why did he think of these two bastards?
However, Leonardo felt a little nostalgic for them, having not seen them for so long.
Those two bastards, they didn't even bother to come visit the set!
Leonardo heard the strange noise again, opened his eyes, and felt as if a rocket had been lit in his backside; he jumped up in an instant.
They jumped so fast that the rocking chair tilted to one side.
Startled, a dozen or so rats scurried out from the base of the wall and corners, some of them running towards Leonardo in a panic.
"Ah! Ah—" Leonardo's hair stood on end, and he instantly burst into his top speed of 11 meters per second, rushing towards the door.
He tried to open the door, only to find it locked from the outside.
More rats were frightened out, dozens of them, running around the small room.
Two of them even bumped into Leonardo's feet.
Leonardo jumped up like a startled rabbit, grabbed the open window above the door, and struggled upwards with all his might.
He was shouting, "Help! Help!"
In a moment of desperation, Leonardo unleashed tremendous strength, pulling his heavy body with his arms, and his head emerged from the windowsill.
Next came the shoulders and chest.
At this moment, Leonardo unleashed his three-hit combo once more, frowning, glaring, and roaring, "Help!"
But he stopped after only shouting once.
Right outside the door, Leonardo saw the two old friends he had been longing for.
Martin and Nicholson!
Leonardo noticed that the two men were wearing thick leather gloves, each clutching a mouse inside, and four eyes like those of a lecherous devil were scrutinizing his handsome face.
Martin, holding the mouse by the tail and shaking the poor creature, said to Leonardo, "I've been practicing my throwing lately, and while my technique isn't great, I think I should be able to hit you in the face at this close range."
Nicholson chimed in, "Leo, open your mouth. My target is your mouth. Cooperate and open it now."
Leonardo roared, "I treated you guys like brothers, and you treated me like a cat?!"
"Don't flatter yourself!" Martin loudly retorted to Leonardo, who was ignoring his brother's good intentions. "What cat would scream and yell in fear of a mouse?"
Leonardo, when his tough approach failed, tried a softer one: "You two have some conscience, lend a hand to your own brother."
Nicholson then made a throwing motion as if he were throwing a mouse, which startled Leonardo so much that he dropped his hands and fell to the ground.
After a muffled thud, a series of squeaks and screams followed.
Leonardo felt something under his foot and looked down to see a rat whose lower half had been smashed by his big foot.
Internal organs and other things were sprayed out.
Seeing this somewhat bloody and disgusting scene, Leonardo didn't know why, but suddenly felt that rats were nothing at all, and he raised his big foot and then put it down again.
Confront your fear, overcome your fear, become fear!
The poor mouse's head was turned into a pulp.
The other mice all scattered in a flash.
Leonardo felt inexplicably pleased, grabbed the dead rat by the tail, and threw it out the window: "Here's a present for you!"
Those two bastards are still out there; we can't let them get away with this!
Martin, with his sharp eyes and agile movements, saw something flying out and dodged to the side of the door.
The dead rat slammed against the wall on the other side of the corridor, leaving bloodstains all over Nicholson's head and clothes.
It looked like something else had landed on his sunglasses.
Nicholson, that old freak, had seen it all and didn't care at all. He glanced at the rat on the ground and gave Martin a thumbs up: "Your special treatment worked!"
He stepped forward, unlocked the door, and opened it.
Leonardo rushed out and ran right into Nicholson's arms.
The latter hugged the former, rubbing his face against Leonardo's: "My good brother, you finally overcame your fear!"
"Let me go! Let me go right now." Leonardo felt something sticky rub against Nicholson's sunglasses and onto his face.
Martin was disgusted by these two bastards and said, "You two go and clean up."
Leonardo looked at Martin: "You've come to visit me, aren't you going to give me a hug?"
When the trio faced internal conflicts, they were all opportunists with no clear stance. Nicholson let go of Leonardo and then tried to pull Martin over.
Martin quickly walked away, keeping a safe distance from them.
Nicholson angrily retorted, "You disloyal bastard!"
Martin shouted a command, and the cleaning and rat-catching teams that the crew had contacted in advance rushed into the break room and began their rat-catching operation.
Half an hour later, Nicholson and Leonardo, who had showered and changed their clothes, came out and met up with Martin.
Leonardo pointed at the two bastards: "This is your treatment plan?"
Nicholson, utterly shameless, betrayed the cause: "It was all Martin's idea; it had nothing to do with me."
Martin was so angry his nose almost twisted out of shape: "You're the one who called me, asking me to come over and help treat Leo, and even provided details about the treatment plan. And you're saying it has nothing to do with you?"
"Treatment? You two bastards think this is treatment?" Leonardo roared, his eyes wide and brows furrowed. "Didn't you even consider what would happen if my problem got worse?"
Martin said very seriously, "Brother, have you ever thought that the best way to overcome fear is to face it head-on?"
Leonardo DiCaprio said, "Because I'm strong enough, anyone else would have been driven insane by you guys!"
Martin patted him on the shoulder: "Don't worry, I've contacted Dr. Laura." He specifically explained, "Laura is my therapist, and she's extremely skilled."
Nicholson took out his sunglasses and put them on: "I've booked a room for you at the Presbyterian Hospital's Psychiatric Center. Martin will cover the cost."
Leonardo exclaimed in exasperation, "How did I end up knowing you two bastards?!"
Martin asked, "Are you still afraid of mice?"
"Of course I'm not afraid!" Leonardo said, hands on his hips, as if he weren't the one screaming for help from the rats. "Even if there were 100 more, I'd still dare to swat them all to death."
Martin asked both of them at the same time, "Did my treatment plan work, hmm? Tell me, wasn't it top-notch? Shouldn't you call me Dr. Martin?"
Nicholson and Leonardo looked at each other in bewilderment.
Scorsese walked over from the other side and saw Leonardo, Martin, and Nicholson exchanging barbs and boasting, which gave him a headache.
If these three idiots got together, even God would go crazy.
He quickly asked, "Leo, are you alright?"
Leonardo stretched and said, "Great, I feel like I'm all back to my old self."
Scorsese looked at Martin, then at Nicholson, and felt that something was off between the three bastards.
Leonardo came over and put his arm around Scorsese's shoulder: "Director, I'll rest today. I'll be full of energy and ready to work tomorrow."
"Okay!" Scorsese was really worried about the trio, and since he was also old friends with Martin and Nicholson, he specifically said, "You three, don't cause any trouble on set. This is a serious film crew, and apart from Leo, no one else can withstand your messing around."
Martin patted his chest and said, "Director, don't worry, I'll keep these two reckless bastards in check."
Before they could object, Martin shouted, "Let's go!"
The three left the office building and headed towards the parking lot, passing several sound stages rented by the "Shutter Island" film crew along the way.
In the distance, Martin spotted a familiar figure.
Heath Ledger walked towards us, carrying a three- or four-year-old girl.
He also saw Martin and his two companions and stopped in his tracks.
Martin ignored him and walked right past him.
Heath Ledger watched Martin walk further and further away with a complicated expression.
"Daddy, what's wrong?" the little girl asked. "Take me to Mommy quickly."
"Let's go find Mommy now." Heath Ledger smiled at the little girl, picked her up, and walked towards the studio.
Meanwhile, Martin asked, "Is Heath Ledger also on set?"
"His ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams is playing a supporting role." Leonardo suddenly had a good idea to mess with Martin: "I heard that you and Heath Ledger had a lot of trouble, and he's been visiting the set a lot lately, probably trying to win back Michelle Williams."
Martin knew he would only give bad advice: "You can shut up now."
Leonardo insisted on saying, "I'll introduce you to Michelle. Ask her out for drinks tonight. I can tell Michelle is lonely and needs a man's comfort..."
Martin said, "These people are all in the past. I'm a forward-looking person, and there's no need to get entangled with them. It won't do me any good."
Nicholson, unusually agreeing with Martin, asked, "Do the three of us lack women?"
The three got into the car, and Bruce drove to the hotel, where they went into Leonardo's luxury suite for drinks.
Martin opened a bottle of whiskey and poured three glasses of it.
Nicholson picked up a glass and said, "Giselle got engaged and didn't even invite us to her pre-wedding party. That's so unfair!"
Leonardo took the glass and drank half of it in one gulp.
Martin asked, "You're not just doing this because of the rats, but also because Giselle is engaged?"
"Who do you think I am? Someone who would be heartbroken over a woman?" Leonardo downed the rest of his drink in one gulp. "Martin, you're kidding me. Me, heartbroken over a supermodel?"
He emphasized, "I would never give up an entire forest for one tree in my entire life!"
Martin poured him another drink: "I believe that last sentence is true."
