Chapter 669 Crazy Fans

In the coffee shop, Martin saw Nolan off and welcomed Blake Lively.

Compared to the last time we met, Blake's already mature face looked even more aged.

Perhaps due to her long-term fitness routine, she has a figure even better than Victoria's Secret Angels, and is even more popular than before.

Martin remembered her preferences, ordered a Blue Mountain coffee, and casually remarked, "You're here so quickly?"

Blake grinned and said, "I was at the agency just now, scrolling through my phone and saw you in the gossip news. I thought you were on a date with some beautiful girl and I was going to come and ruin it, but it turned out to be Director Nolan."

Martin laughed, "What you're saying could easily cause a misunderstanding. I'm a good man..."

Blake deliberately looked him up and down and asked, "After we broke up, you seemed like a completely different person, turning into a total playboy. Did breaking up with you hurt you?"

Martin took a sip of coffee and remained silent, because the truth could easily hurt people.

Blake's personality was completely different from Anne's. She didn't wallow in self-pity at all and maintained her usual cheerfulness: "I didn't expect you to actually be so taken aback by me."

Martin bluntly stated, "Yes, you've hurt me so much that I've stopped believing in love altogether."

"How about I come back?" Blake said as if he were joking. "Back then, we lived together and saw each other every day. The idol aura surrounding you gradually faded, and I thought we had reached the end. But who knew that after we separated, you became even more dazzling. I found that I still deeply admire you."

She leaned forward, towards Martin: "You've always been my idol!"

Martin shoved her away, saying, "You're just a crazy fan who wants to fiddle with their idol!"

After being exposed, Blake wasn't embarrassed at all: "Actually, I just wanted to thank you in the most sincere way."

Martin didn't understand what he meant.

"DC's Green Lantern!" Blake said seriously, putting away his joke. "You may have heard that I was originally the first choice for the female lead in Green Lantern. My father had a close working relationship with Warner Bros., and at the time, if I wanted to, I would definitely have been the one for the role. But your reminder saved me from a disaster."

She understood the seriousness of this failure: "My career was on the rise, and if I were to fail with a $2 million blockbuster like this, my acting career could very well be over."

Martin said, "Don't mention it. We've known each other since you were 17. I can't just watch you fall into a trap."

Blake Lively's acting career was basically over after the failure of "Green Lantern," and she became a super internet celebrity.

Blake said with interest, "Everyone in the industry says you have a good eye, and it's true."

Martin shook his head and laughed: "Warner Bros. and DC are both too impatient. The new management wants to achieve results, and DC's eagerness to catch up with Marvel often leads to problems."

Whether it's "Owls and Gods," "Green Lantern," or the other projects, Martin didn't actually do much. Given the style of Warner's new management, they would dare to boast and claim to have conquered the entire universe if given a small stick.

Blake said, "I'll definitely be more careful when working with Warner Bros. in the future." She then asked with a smile, "Martin, could I ask you for advice before accepting a new film role?"

"Sure," Martin said, but he made it clear from the outset: "You know, no one can guarantee a film's success."

Blake said generously and cheerfully, "Whether I succeed or fail, I will always thank you properly."

Martin said there was no possibility of them getting back together: "We're still friends."

Blake replied, "I really miss the days when I lived in Sherman Oaks. You didn't sell the house in the Coty neighborhood, did you? I'd like to go back and take a look."

"No." Martin glanced at his watch. "Let's go eat first, then we'll go over."

Blake laughed and said, "Okay."

After the two ate at a nearby restaurant, Martin had Bruce drive another car over and take him and Blake to their house in the Coty neighborhood.

A few years ago, Blake and Martin lived together here.

The house has been regularly maintained and serviced, and the value of houses in the Coty community has been steadily increasing, far exceeding the depreciation of the dollar and expenses such as property taxes, so Martin has not sold it.

He currently owns four properties.

In the Coty neighborhood, there's the Davis Estate in Beverly Hills, a large penthouse in Manhattan's Upper East Side, and a large vacation villa in Miami.

The latter two were purchased at low prices when Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck were facing crises, respectively, and have now more than doubled in value as the North American economy has recovered.

Martin and Blake arrived in the Coty neighborhood and found that the house across the street was under renovation.

Having lived here for a while, Blake asked, "Gillian Flynn moved away?"

Martin nodded: "She bought a big villa in Malibu."

Blake glanced over there again: "She should thank you properly for getting to where she is today."

Martin said, "Your thanks are enough."

The two entered the villa, and Blake said, "Could you check me carefully to make sure my body fat percentage is sufficient? I don't want to overwork myself and end up with muscles all over my body."

Martin personally inspected the area, confirming that the soft parts were soft and the large parts were large.

Frankly speaking, there aren't many actors with a figure as good as Blake Lively, but Alexandra Daddario is definitely one of them.

This purely decorative actor also auditioned for "The Martian" on Martin's recommendation and joined the cast, playing Beth Johnson, the spacecraft systems operator.

It took Martin a long time to finish examining Blake Lively.

After it got completely dark, the two prepared to leave, but ran into Mr. Jones from next door when they went outside.

"Hi, Martin, Black," Mr. Jones waved to him. "Long time no see."

It was a rare opportunity to run into an old neighbor. Martin parked his car, got out, and said, "I come back to check in occasionally, but I noticed your lights weren't on, so I didn't go over to bother you."

Mr. Jones said, "I went to the community council and dropped off some gifts."

He suddenly remembered something, quickly opened his bag, took out a beautifully packaged CD, and handed it to Martin: "I was originally planning to mail it to you in a few days, but since we've run into each other, I won't mail it."

Martin took it, and as expected, it was a DVD of an art film from the Sacred Valley. The most prominent position on the DVD cover was the male and female leads. The female lead was naturally Jenna, Mr. Jones' daughter, and the male lead was Brad Pitt, who was shining as a superstar in the Sacred Valley at the time.

Blake leaned over, glanced at it curiously, and said, "A Pete movie."

Mr. Jones said, "It's only because of his previous reputation that he could have made it big in the Holy Grail Movement and never become a top star."

Martin asked curiously, "Why?"

"Maybe I'm getting older, and my abilities in that area are a bit lacking." Mr. Jones pointed to the disc in Martin's hand and said, "But this one is alright. I was on set watching the scenes where Pitt and Jenna were filming together. Before each take, I would specifically find Pitt and tell him to go all out, be fierce, and thrust forward with all his might, instead of being a weakling like a sissy."

He went on to say, "We can't let Jenna take the lead in every scene, can we? That would be exhausting for Jenna, and don't forget she's the director."

Martin joked, "Next time, prepare a gun, give Pete a bullet before filming, and tell him that if he doesn't perform well, just blow his head off. I'm sure Pete will perform exceptionally well."

Mr. Jones couldn't help but laugh: "Great idea! Next time I'll definitely let Pete know that he doesn't need to fight Jenna; I'll shoot his ass off!"

Blake chimed in, "Maybe Pete likes it that way."

Mr. Jones said, "Then his hobby is quite peculiar."

Blake thought to himself, "Your hobby is quite unique. How many fathers of Saint Oliver actresses would give away art films directed and starring their daughters as gifts, and then boast about them from time to time?"

Martin put away the discs, said goodbye to Mr. Jones, got into his car, and left the Coty community.

Mr. Jones was quite disappointed that so many years had passed and he still hadn't seen Martin and Jenna make an art film.

Martin drove to Burbank first to take Blake home.

Blake took the disc and said, "Shall we find a place to enjoy it together and pass the long night?"

Martin shook his head: "I want to go back to Beverly."

Blake recalled some things from when they lived together: "Are you still the same as before, never staying out all night as long as your girlfriend is home?"

"Elizabeth's away on a business trip," Martin explained casually. "Another friend, who's finally getting some rest,' is back from Australia."

Black handed the disc back to Martin, saying, "Let me think, who is it? Louise Mayer? Julie? Aniston? No, they haven't been to Australia recently, so it can only be Charlize Theron."

Martin said calmly, "Correct answer, your reward is to go home early."

Blake retorted, "I've seen Charlize Theron at several fashion events. She's undeniably stunning when dressed, but without clothes... Martin, is she as beautiful and sexy as me without them?"

Martin pretended not to hear and pulled the car over to the side of the road: "You can get out now."

Blake shrugged and got out of the car.

Martin quickly returned to Beverly Hills and drove straight to Charlize Theron's house.

Then, he saw the almost bald South African diamond.

"How about it? Isn't this look especially cool?" Charlize bent her arms, showing off her muscular physique: "I'm a post-apocalyptic warrior now."

Martin looked her up and down carefully.

Over the past few months, Charlize Theron has been undergoing high-intensity fitness training, resulting in well-defined muscles all over her body. Coupled with her almost bald head, she appears broad-shouldered and exceptionally fierce.

Martin couldn't help but think of Furiosa from Fury Road.

He went around to the sofa where Charlize was sitting, put one hand on Charlize's shoulder, and couldn't help but touch the short stubble on Charlize's head with the other hand, clicking his tongue and saying, "Sally, it feels great."

Charlize was a little annoyed that someone was patting her head like that, but she didn't stop Martin. Instead, she came up with a terrible idea to deal with this jerk: "Tonight, you can only attack me from behind."

Martin said, "I have the utmost respect for women's needs."

Charlize suddenly stood up, went around behind the sofa, took off her t-shirt, and her body tensed up abruptly, revealing the faint outline of her muscles on her back.

She was tall and broad-shouldered, with a large frame. Holding onto the sofa, she turned back and beckoned to Martin with her finger: "I'm going to make you feel like you're confronting a man!"

Enraged, Martin slapped the man down with a sharp sound, forcibly flipping him over and pressing him down.

This woman may have gotten too caught up in playing Furiosa and forgotten who the real mastermind of the war was.
