Chapter 670 A Special Fate

Death Valley National Park, Southern California.

The large convoy traveled southeast along the old road, arriving at a campsite in the desert and wasteland area, where they set up camp.

Martin got out of the van and discovered that another film crew was also stationed at the camp.

The campsite was very large, and the film crew opposite had at least a hundred cars of various kinds, occupying a large area.

Bruce went to ask around and came back saying, "What a coincidence, the crew of Annapurna Pictures' 'The Lone Ranger' is also filming on location in Death Valley."

It would take some time for the film crew to settle in, so Martin headed in that direction.

Bruce quickly followed.

On a high, protruding rock platform, director Ridley Scott is observing the surrounding scenery.

Martin jumped up in a few steps, shaded his eyes with his hand, and looked westward.

Ridley took out a viewfinder and handed it to Martin: "Look southwest, it's a great location for filming the scenes on the Ashdalia plains."

Martin slightly adjusted the viewfinder focus and said, "We still need to set up a green screen for the background."

After all, the Asidaria Plain is on Mars, and the sky is completely different.

Suddenly, someone across the street waved in their direction: "Ridley!"

Martin discovered that it was a stranger's face.

Ridley Scott squinted for a moment, then beckoned over and whispered to Martin, "Bill Wilson, a veteran producer in the industry, is now the content director at Annapurna Films."

Because of Megan Ellison, Martin knew who this was: "The Mavericks' producer."

Ridley knew the other person and stepped down from the stage: "Let's go over and have a chat."

Martin got down too, and just as he was about to go over, someone was running up behind him.

Alexandra Daddario ran over and grabbed Martin's arm, saying, "I couldn't find you after I got out of the car."

Martin smiled and led her forward: "We've been sitting in the car for too long, let's move around and get some fresh air."

D'Addario took Martin's arm and they went over together.

Ridley saw Martin coming over and introduced him to Wilson.

Although the two had never met directly, the two film crews lived next door to each other and were quite familiar with each other.

Martin didn't mince words, saying directly, "I'm very familiar with the project you're currently working on. Would it be possible to come and watch you film it sometime?"

Wilson, of course, knew that "The Lone Ranger" was "snatched" from Martin, saying, "Both of our families film in this area, so it's inevitable that we'll visit each other."

Martin suddenly noticed that a large group of people were emerging from behind the trailer diagonally opposite him.

The leader was Megan Ellison, and Johnny Depp, along with Amber Heard and seven or eight followers, including a girl who looked about twelve or thirteen years old, were also wandering around nearby.

Megan Ellison apparently overheard Martin's words and extended an invitation: "Transcendence will be released at the end of the year, and this Lone Ranger will be released early next year. I've already finalized the distribution with Warner Bros. You're welcome to attend the premiere."

Martin's face instantly turned ashen: "I will participate."

Megan deliberately asked, "Any movie projects you've got your eye on lately? We could discuss them further."

Ridley, having heard about Martin and Megan Ellison's affair, stepped in to help Martin out: "Let's go back."

Just as Martin was about to leave, the girl next to Depp and Amber suddenly ran over.

As she ran, she shouted, "Master, wait!"

Martin stopped.

"My name is Lily Rose," the girl said, blinking her innocent eyes. "I'm a fan of yours, can you sign my autograph?"

Martin, upon learning that this was Depp's daughter, smiled and nodded: "Of course."

Bruce handed him a pen to sign his name.

Lily-Rose didn't bring a notebook, so she simply turned around: "Can I sign it on my clothes?"

Martin quickly wrote a line on it: May angel Lily be happy every day, and then signed it.

Lily-Rose pulled out an iPhone and asked, "Is this okay?"

Upon seeing Martin nod, Daddario took the phone and snapped a few photos of Lily-Rose and Martin together.

Lily-Rose stood beside him, and Martin could faintly smell a cigarette.

"Thank you, Master." Lily-Rose was especially happy. "I will always admire you!"

She waved and went back to find Johnny Depp and his group.

Martin ignored Megan Ellison and pulled Daddario back, asking as they walked, "Did you smell anything strange on the girl?"

Young Americans, especially those in Hollywood, are no strangers to this, Daddario said with certainty: "The smell of burning."

She glanced back at Depp: "He's the most unreliable father I've ever met."

Martin said, "We can't interfere in other people's business."

He and Daddario strolled around the area before returning to the film crew's base, where they had essentially completed setting up camp.

There are no hotels nearby, so the film crew will be staying in trailers for the time being. Due to the large number of vehicles, the camp area has become a large area connected with the Lone Ranger site.

The film crew will not be filming in the camp area, so it won't have much impact on either side.

As the project's investor, producer, and lead actor, Martin Scorsese naturally received the best treatment, even surpassing Ridley Scott.

The largest and most luxurious Mercedes-Benz RV in the entire production crew became Martin's temporary residence.

Hollywood's top stars often request that the production crew provide them with a motorhome of this caliber when they are filming on location and cannot stay in a hotel.

There was also another regular RV nearby, which served as Bruce's accommodation.

Bruce originally planned to sleep on the large sofa in the Mercedes RV, which would be comfortable enough.

But when he saw Daddario's name on the list of new cast members, he simply asked for a motorhome.

"I'm only filming the outdoor scenes for three days," Daddario said as he got into the RV with Martin. "Although I'm leaving in three days, my place is a bit small."

She said pitifully, "You know, I'm very uncomfortable living in such a cramped place."

Martin offered, "I have a lot of space here, why don't you stay with me?"

D'Addario took the initiative to discuss the room rate: "Martin, may I stay here with you?"

Martin was a good man and wouldn't refuse: "Of course."

At dinner time, Martin called D'Addario to go to the dining car for dinner together.

While picking up his food, he ran into Jessica Chastain.

The latter said in a low voice, "I've made plans with a few other actors, and Ridley too. How about we grab a drink after dinner?"

Martin asked, "Ridley agreed?"

Jessica Chastain smiled playfully: "One drink only."

Martin nodded: "Then let's have a drink. We need to get some rest early tonight, we have to get up early tomorrow."

Jessica Chastain turned to look at Daddario, who had returned to the table, and jokingly tried to close the distance: "Are you sure you can get some rest early tonight?"

Martin said, "I'm in good health and it won't affect my work tomorrow."

Most of the outdoor scenes filmed in Death Valley require wearing spacesuits. From makeup to getting dressed, it takes nearly two hours. The main actors, including Martin, will have to get up at six o'clock tomorrow to prepare.

After dinner, everyone had a small drink, and the younger actors, including Martin, Daddario, Jessica Chastain, and Rick Martinez, climbed to the top of a rocky hill behind the camp to look at the stars.

The surrounding area was all open fields, and there were no clouds in the sky to obscure the view, making the stars exceptionally bright.

Martin stood at the highest point, overlooking the entire camp, which consisted of two large film crews and a small number of passenger convoys, forming a camp that stretched for miles.

Jessica Chastain came over and said, "What a coincidence, they were right across from us when we were at the studio, and they're still here."

Martin said, "Perhaps this is fate."

…………

There was also a super luxurious Mercedes-Benz RV in the "Lone Ranger" crew's camp.

This is Captain Johnny Depp's temporary lodging.

However, this RV is more luxurious than the one Martin lives in, with two bedrooms inside, the smaller one of which is currently occupied by Lily Rose.

The master bedroom naturally served as a temporary love nest for Depp and Amber Heard.

After dinner, Amber went to see Megan Ellison.

Megan is an investor who likes to get close to film sets, while Amber Heard is the one who secretly controls Depp.

Although Depp is still late, hangover, on drugs, and can't remember his lines, Jerry Bruckheimer insists he is a great actor with strong market appeal.

For the sake of future business benefits, Megan can only endure it for the time being, even though she is furious.

Amber returned to the actors' quarters and got into her Mercedes RV. Depp was taking a shower in the bathroom; his cronies hadn't arrived yet.

However, there were many things on the low table in front of the sofa in the RV's small living room.

Several bottles of golden whiskey, including two full glasses, were placed in front of a heavy metal CD case with Depp's credit card next to a metal box with a skull on it.

The box was already opened, and inside were cigarettes and other special items.

This is Depp's daily diet.

Amber glanced at the bathroom, where the sound of running water could still be heard. She took out her phone and took pictures of the low table, recording everything.

Not long after, Depp came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a bathrobe, sat on the sofa, took out some things, and said to Amber, "Help me with this."

Amber said irritably, "Do it yourself."

Depp had no choice but to do it himself.

The door of the Mercedes RV slammed open, and Lily Rose returned from outside, plopping down on the sofa next to her.

Depp showed no regard for his daughter.

Amber had seen him many times, but she hadn't said anything.

Depp glanced at it, as if it were his daughter eating and drinking, without saying anything, and went about his own business.

Soon, a flurry of footsteps sounded at the door; Depp's cronies had all arrived.

These people, like Depp, were drinking, doing drugs, and having a blast, partying all night long.
