Chapter 671 Home Delivery

A little after five in the morning, Martin got up, put on his pajamas, and prepared to wash up.

Daddario, who was next to him, also opened his eyes.

Martin patted her equally pert bottom: "Sleep for another 15 minutes, I'll wake you up in a bit."

Daddario grunted in response, turned over, and went back to sleep.

Half an hour later, the two got out of the trailer together, met up with Bruce, and went to the restaurant for breakfast.

Before six o'clock, all the actors arrived at several work trailers to put on makeup and change clothes.

Jessica Chastain greeted Martin with a "Good morning."

Martin nodded slightly to her: "Good morning."

Makeup artists and stylists got busy.

After the actors have completed their basic makeup and costumes, the crew leaves their accommodation and heads to the location for filming.

Not only the actors, but all other departments were also busy.

As soon as The Martian made a move, the silence was broken by the crew of The Lone Ranger next door.

Megan Ellison ate her breakfast, her gaze sweeping over the makeshift dining room where the main cast and crew, including producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, had already begun their meal.

Only Johnny Depp didn't come.

Megan asked her assistant across the table, "What's going on with Depp?"

The assistant noted: "He was partying with his cronies last night. When I went to sleep at 2:30 in the morning, their party was still going on."

Megan's anger flared up again, but she quickly suppressed it by sending a text message to Amber Heard.

Even her father, a multi-billionaire, couldn't outdo Johnny Depp in causing trouble.

After finishing her meal and leaving the restaurant, Megan heard noises from the film crew next door and decided to check it out. She deliberately passed by the trailer where Depp was staying and took a peek at it from a distance.

Just then, the trailer door opened, and Amber practically dragged Depp out of the vehicle.

Depp walked unsteadily, seemingly still drunk, and his sunken eye sockets didn't need makeup at all; they were exactly like Captain Sparrow's dark circles.

Megan could tell at a glance that it would be noon at the earliest before he could film normally.

Fortunately, the production team adjusted the filming schedule. Starting from the Disney studio, all of Depp's scenes were moved to the afternoon, while the scenes of other actors were filmed in the morning.

Megan arrived at the location between the two film crews, boarded the tallest trailer, and stood on the roof to look across the other side.

She quickly spotted the area where the makeup crew was located and saw Martin Davis and Jessica Chastain, both wearing grey spacesuits, get out of a trailer and into a van.

Multiple vehicles converged into a convoy and headed southwest.

Megan seemed thoughtful. Although Martin Davis was on the opposite side of her, there was one thing she had to admit: when it came to professionalism, Martin was miles ahead of Depp.

When the two film crews were at Disney Studios, their main soundstages were just across the road. Megan Williams followed the Martian crew from time to time. Martin Scorsese and Johnny Depp were about the same level of stardom, but their personalities and ways of doing things were very different.

The former has an excellent reputation in Hollywood, while the latter is universally hated.

Megan can easily imagine the enormous trouble Depp will face once he loses his appeal.

Thinking about this, she felt a little worried. The two projects, Transcendence and The Lone Ranger, were all top-notch in the industry, from the script to the investment to the production team, and the probability of success was infinitely high.

If anything goes wrong with these two projects, there's only one possibility—Johnny Depp!

Megan is already seething with anger towards Depp, like a female version of the Hulk before her outburst.

Not long after, some members of the "Lone Ranger" crew went out to film.

As noon approached, Depp finally arrived at the makeshift film set in the countryside.

At this time, the June sun was hanging in the sky, and the temperature in the barren Gobi Desert was extremely high. People would be sweating profusely just standing there, let alone moving around in costumes.

Depp refused to participate in the filming, citing the hot weather, and said he would wait until the weather cooled down.

Then, he and his friends climbed into the air-conditioned van and refused to get out.

He skipped breakfast and didn't want to eat lunch either, opting instead for alcohol.

"Hey boss, there's something important," a friend reminded Depp.

Depp, without even opening his eyes, asked, "What's wrong?"

Hodgson, one of the friends, said, "We had so much fun last night, we're almost out of flour, and there's nowhere to buy any here..."

Depp casually waved his hand: "Tell them to deliver it as soon as possible, to their door, and give them extra money!"

Hodgson nodded: "I'll make the call right away."

He got out of the car, called the supplier, and told them that the goods had to be delivered by midnight tonight, and that the goods had to be the best available; money was not an issue.

They readily agreed, promising to deliver it before midnight.

…………

The Martian crew is filming intensively in the southwest of Death Valley.

Two cranes erected a huge green screen, blocking out the sun in the sky. The crew used the green screen as a backdrop to film outdoor scenes on Mars.

It was so hot that Martin, wearing a spacesuit, was soaked in sweat after just a few shots.

"Stop, that take is good!" Ridley called for a halt to filming, glanced at the sun in the sky, and said, "Let's take a half-hour break."

Martin took off his helmet, and the makeup artist rushed over to wipe his sweat.

Upon arriving at the rest area, he removed his spacesuit with the assistance of two assistants.

He took the water Bruce offered and took a sip.

Daddario and Jessica Chastain, who had also removed their spacesuits, were soaked in sweat, their clothes clinging tightly to their bodies.

Martin tossed two fans to them and said, "Come on, let's go to the air-conditioned car."

The three of them got into the same van. Martin first turned the air conditioning down slightly, and then turned it up slightly after the sweat subsided.

There was no one else in the car. D'Addario pulled up his undershirt, took it off and threw it aside, then grabbed a tissue to wipe his sweat.

Its scale even caught the attention of Jessica Chastain.

Martin took two bottles of mineral water from the small refrigerator, inserted straws, and handed them to Daddario and Jessica Chastain respectively.

He took out another bottle, took a sip, and complained, "This awful weather is really not suitable for shooting outdoor scenes."

Daddario said, "I want to find a place to take a bath."

Jessica Chastain had two red patches on her face, whether from the heat or the sun, it was hard to tell: "Let's finish this scene. Just thinking about having to stay here for another week is driving me crazy."

Martin said, "Didn't you film six movies last year?"

Jessica Chastain laughed and said, "But this is the first time I've ever filmed on location in the desert wearing such thick clothes during the hottest part of summer."

Martin said, "When we get back tonight, I'll treat you to ice-cold beer."

Daddario said, "I want to drink the commemorative Coke."

"No problem." Since it's filming during the day, we can't drink too much of this stuff, it'll make us hiccup. Martin waved his hand dismissively: "Cola or any other alcohol, plenty of it."

Before he arrived, he had someone prepare: "The film crew has a truck specifically for transporting supplies for me."

Jessica Chastain said, "You get better treatment."

Martin said frankly, "Once you become a top-tier celebrity, you'll get the same treatment."

The half-hour break passed quickly.

Despite their individual complaints, the three of them got out of the car on time to touch up their makeup, put on their thick spacesuits once again, and continued their busy scientific research and exploration work on Mars.

Filming was intermittent, and Ridley had to let the actors rest and rehydrate from time to time to prevent them from getting heatstroke.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the film crew wrapped up and returned to camp.

After dinner, Martin called Daddario and Jessica Chastain to come to his RV.

Bruce opened a nearby refrigerated truck that was open 24 hours a day; it was full of food and beverage supplies.

Jessica Chastain exclaimed, "You really know how to enjoy yourself!"

Martin said, "We make money by making movies so that we can enjoy life, right? We can't suffer and sweat while making movies, and then be so stingy with our lives that we mistreat ourselves."

Daddario got into the car without any hesitation: "I'll just pick one."

Martin was very generous: "Take whatever you like."

Daddario deliberately turned back and looked at a certain spot on Martin's face: "Really, you can just take whatever you want?"

Jessica Chastain also got along well with Daddario today, saying, "Can you two stop showing off your love in front of me? I'm a lonely single woman."

"Are you really all alone?" D'Addario said deliberately. "Would you like me to offer you some warmth tonight?"

Jessica didn't respond to her words. Instead, she grabbed a bottle of sparkling wine, some dried fruit and fresh fruit, and said, "Let's go enjoy life."

Martin took some dried meat and fresh fruit and led the two back to the Mercedes RV.

Bruce had already turned on the air conditioning and opened the windows to ventilate the room. Martin put his things down, closed both windows, and then called Ridley and the original author, Andy Weir, to invite them over to enjoy life.

As night fell, the entire campsite came alive.

The discord between the higher-ups of the two production teams did not prevent communication among the lower-level staff. Many people knew each other, and staff members from both production teams frequently visited each other.

Alcohol, parties, and the stuff between men and women are the eternal mainstream activities of Hollywood amateurs.

Johnny Depp, who only filmed for an hour and a half today, also hosted a wild party in his RV.

But since joining the cast, Depp has been causing trouble, exhausting everyone involved, with no one else participating except his friends.

Of course, Depp doesn't care about any of that. Ever since he played the captain, all of Hollywood has revolved around him.

Especially with the sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean, no matter how outrageous Depp's demands were, Disney reluctantly complied for the sake of commercial profits.

After finishing several bottles of wine, Depp, still unsatisfied, asked, "Hasn't the goods arrived yet?"

The friend I contacted that afternoon glanced at his watch: "It should be arriving soon."

Another person kept sniffling and turned down the music: "Quickly call and ask."

The friend made a phone call and said, "They'll be here soon. I'm going out to find them."

"It's so hot outside, have them deliver it directly over!" Depp was truly generous to his friend: "Have them deliver it directly to the Mercedes RV."

The man sent a text message: "Go into the camp and walk towards the center area. The largest Mercedes RV is easy to spot."
