Chapter 805 The Flying Man

At the Los Angeles Convention Center, a dilapidated Toyota drove into the parking lot.

Stuart Townsend glanced at the entrance to the convention center, where posters from Netflix, David Fincher, and Davis Studios stood out prominently.

"I hope she comes." Townsend muttered to himself, took out his phone, and dialed Charlize Theron's number again, but the line was busy again.

Ever since he splashed McFarlane's face with water yesterday, he's been trying to contact Charlize to show her what he's done for her.

But Charlize's phone was unreachable.

Townsend used his connections from his previous life in the North Side of Sunset Boulevard to get into the neighborhood, but Charlize's house was locked.

Despite all the effort I've put in, I still can't be sure if Charlize knows...

After dialing three times in a row and getting a busy signal each time, Townsend had no choice but to put away his phone and pin his hopes on Martin Davis.

He doesn't ask for much.

Townsend got out of the car and entered the Los Angeles Convention Center. He had attended several events here before and was quite familiar with the place. He didn't go to the main venue but went through the security exit to the rest area and waited at the door of a VIP room.

Not long after, the lounge door opened, and Martin came out accompanied by Bruce and a few others.

Townsend strode towards them, calling out as he went, "Martin! Martin..."

Two security guards came over and stopped him.

Martin was curious when he saw Townsend. What was this guy doing here?

Townsend called out again, "Can we talk just for a minute? Just a little while!"

Martin waved his hand and walked toward Townsend, with Bruce immediately following.

Townsend took a few steps to the side, to a secluded spot, and waited for Martin to approach before whispering, "I can't reach Charlize. Can you get in touch with her?"

Martin was able to contact them, of course, and knew that Charlize had hacked Townsend before leaving Los Angeles yesterday.

He shook his head: "All I know is that she went overseas to film a movie."

Townsend glanced at the people behind Martin and quickly said, "Martin, I deeply regret what I did before. I was so stupid. I shouldn't have targeted you. I apologize to you."

Martin couldn't understand why this guy had changed his ways, but he didn't have time to argue: "Just say what you want to say."

Townsend glanced at Martin cautiously and tentatively said, "I want to get back together with Charlize; after all, we've been together for ten years."

Seeing Martin's calm expression, he grew bolder: "Martin, could you do me a favor and tell Charlize that I really want to get back together with her and am willing to give anything for her?"

Martin looked at Townsend with surprise, wondering if the guy had lost his mind.

Townsend further stated, "Don't misunderstand, I didn't mean anything by it. You can continue to associate with Charlize as you wish; I won't interfere."

He lowered his voice further, recalling some rumors circulating in the industry: "If you're willing, I can cheer you on, give you a push, and so on. Besides our nominal relationship, I won't have any other involvement with Charlize unless you have special requests."

"You can leave now." Martin understood; this guy simply wanted to come back and live off his wife.

This is because I've suffered a lot and come to understand the true meaning of life.

Martin understood Charlize's thoughts and said directly, "Stop with your unrealistic fantasies. I don't have time to listen to this nonsense."

Townsend wanted to say something more.

Martin turned around and walked away, entering the passageway next to him.

Security personnel on both sides blocked Townsend from continuing to disturb Martin.

Townsend was disappointed. He turned around and walked out. When he got to the parking lot, he saw his beat-up Toyota, which had probably been owned by many people, and suddenly remembered that he needed to fill up the tank.

He pulled his wallet out of his pocket; it only contained a few $20 bills. He was short of money again.

How to make money? Townsend glanced at the conference center entrance and a thought popped into his head: if all else fails, he'll sell his experience with Charlize Theron to the media... No, simply because he and Charlize Theron lack sensationalism, plus Martin Davis, this experience will definitely be very valuable!

"My Love Triangle with Charlize and Martin"? Not exciting enough!

It should be "How Martin Davis Slept With My Fiancée Charlize Theron"!

Townsend was still thinking when he suddenly noticed a car pull up beside him and stop in front of him.

Two men got out of the car. The middle-aged man in the lead showed Townsend his badge and paperwork: "Mr. Stuart Townsend, you are involved in a case of assault yesterday. Please come with us for questioning..."

After listening to the other party's seemingly polite speech, Townsend knew very well that he couldn't refuse, otherwise he wouldn't be so polite.

Seth McFarlane called the police, and they quickly located Townsend.

…………

At the conference center, Martin and Bruce arrived at the press room, waiting to go on stage in a moment.

Bruce, thinking about the minotaur from earlier, warned, "We're doomed, you're about to be completely exposed."

Martin seemed unconcerned: "Those rumors are just rumors, don't pay them any mind."

"I understand, if you don't care, just pretend you didn't hear it." Bruce, however, wasn't going to let Martin off the hook: "Just pretend you're still innocent."

Martin glanced at Bruce's face, too lazy to bother with him anymore.

People like Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicholson, Bruce Willis, and Charlize Todd, who are perfectly normal themselves, always imagine him as abnormal; they all seem to have something wrong with their heads.

Martin believes that when everyone else thinks you are wrong, but you think you are right, it's a bad thing.

Then, the one who is wrong must be someone else.

A commotion erupted from the press room front desk. Martin glanced over and saw Netflix officially announcing a full-scale collaboration with Oscar-winning director David Fincher in front of a large number of media reporters, and revealing the "House of Cards" project.

This has attracted significant media attention.

Although Netflix announced its intention to produce its own film and television projects, in the past year or so, apart from purchasing copyrights from Hollywood and casting mediocre directors and actors to create some unwatchable works, it has had almost no influence in the mainstream.

Today, however, they managed to get David Fincher, the newly crowned Oscar-winning director!

The hardest part of this kind of thing is getting started. Once Netflix gets things going, the rest is much easier.

Many astute journalists have already personally experienced how streaming media is changing the traditional Hollywood industry chain.

After David Fincher's contract with Netflix was finalized, Martin, representing Davis Studio, went on stage to sign a licensing agreement with Greg Peters, representing Netflix.

Netflix will acquire exclusive online streaming rights for several of the studio's films, including "Wanted," "Limitless," "John Wick," "Gone Girl," "The Martian," and "Argo," over the next five years.

Although market evaluation standards vary, the films under Davis Studios collectively earn a total of $4200 million in licensing fees from Netflix each year.

This standard is far higher than that of Hollywood's equivalent number of film packages.

The main reason is that Davis Studios' licensing package doesn't contain a single bad movie.

The licensing packages from major Hollywood studios always consist of a few hit movies, along with an equal number of low-quality films, and they come at a hefty price.

Martin's company produces a small number of films, but every single one is a masterpiece.

Online streaming licensing of movies is currently the most common form of cooperation between Hollywood and Netflix.

Netflix announced their signings with David Fincher and Davis Studios at the same press conference, essentially declaring to the entire entertainment industry that they had won the Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture.

Putting everything else aside, Netflix's stock price will definitely rise significantly.

At noon, Martin attended a Netflix-sponsored luncheon and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport on time with Bruce, heading straight into the private tarmac area.

There is a special luxury terminal here, exclusively for celebrities, socialites, and wealthy businessmen.

Martin and Bruce waited for a while, and then a brand-new Bombardier Global 6000 business jet landed on the tarmac.

The aircraft is mainly silver-white, with red sections on the wings and tail.

Once the plane came to a complete stop, the cabin door opened, and Lily and Elizabeth stepped off the plane.

Martin stepped forward and said, "It's a beautiful plane."

Elizabeth came over and kissed Martin passionately, saying, "After waiting so long, it's finally done!"

Lily then followed and gave Martin a passionate French kiss.

Elizabeth shrugged, curled her lip, and pulled the two people onto the plane: "Come on up and take a look, you're its owner."

Martin bowed and entered the cabin. The aircraft's interior was luxurious, mainly divided into three areas besides the cockpit: a bar, a public seating area, and a large bedroom. It was also equipped with a state-of-the-art audio-visual communication system.

Its maximum range is close to 1 kilometers, enough to operate a route from New York to London.

Martin got up from the white leather chair and went to look at the bedroom.

Lily quietly slipped away to the cockpit.

Martin had just tried out the big bed in the bedroom when Lily slipped back in.

She said mysteriously, "I had the captain contact the control tower and we're flying directly to Las Vegas soon. Shall we spend the night in Las Vegas tonight?"

Elizabeth crossed her arms and leaned against the door, saying, "You're not going to Las Vegas, are you? What's so fun about that place?"

Nothing compares to going home and playing with Martin.

Lily jumped onto the large bed, feeling the mattress's amazing elasticity, and said, "Have you forgotten? Why did we have this bed custom-made?"

Martin laughed heartily: "Great idea, it's decided then."

He ran to the cabin door and waved to Bruce: "Bruce, get on the plane, we're going to Las Vegas."

Bruce boarded the plane, glanced at Martin, Lily, and Elizabeth, and found a seat closest to the cockpit.

Lily and Elizabeth came over to greet Bruce and took their seats in the back.

After waiting for a while and completing some routine preparations, the brand-new aircraft took off onto the runway and into the sky.

Not long after, Martin, Lily, and Elizabeth went into the bedroom together.

That night, they partied all night in Las Vegas, and when they returned the next day, they experienced the trapeze act again.
