Chapter 94 The Magical Congress of America (Fifth Update)

The Magical Congress of the United States, Woolworth Building.

Li Chuan, who had just stepped out of the door key office, looked at the hundred-story magical building and thought to himself:

"This looks even more impressive than the British Ministry of Magic."

He had already researched information about the Magical Congress of the United States before he came.

Unlike the British Ministry of Magic, which is located underground and is a separate building, the Magical Congress of the United States shares a building with ordinary people.

The entrance to Woolworth Building is a revolving door. Normal people enter Woolworth Building by passing through the revolving door, while wizards enter the Magical Congress of the United States by passing through the revolving door.

"Where are we going?"

As Li Chuan stepped into the magic elevator, an old witch wearing a small felt hat and a suit asked him a question.

Fairies and house-elves look very similar, but their status in the wizarding world is completely different from that of house-elves.

House-elves are slaves, while fairies are not much worse off than wizards. They are skilled in metalworking, especially silverware, and they are the ones who make the currency in the wizarding world.

They even run Gringotts Wizarding Bank, which largely controls the wizarding world's economy.

"Lobby registration desk!"

Li Chuan replied politely.

The old demon nodded, raised his cane, and pressed the button marked "1".

A few seconds later, the magic elevator reopened, and Li Chuan had arrived at the registration hall on the first floor.

The architecture of the Magical Congress of the United States is very similar to that of a church, and a huge portrait of a witch hangs at the entrance; it is none other than the current president of the Magical Congress of the United States, Serafina Picqueli.

The corridors were more spacious and cleaner than those of the British Ministry of Magic, with brooms and mops that had been enchanted by a spell constantly sweeping them, and a giant golden metal eagle soaring through the air.

The wizards seemed quite relaxed, many of them sitting on benches reading newspapers and chatting.

Perhaps because of the recent unrest in the United States, there weren't many foreign wizards registering at the registry office. Li Chuan had been able to register all his information without having to wait in line.

"You're a wizard from England, so you might not know that here in America, wizards need a wand license to carry a wand. Go to the wand license office and get a wand license before you can leave."

After registering Li Chuan's information, the witch in charge of registration gave him a reminder.

Li Chuan wasn't surprised by what he heard; he simply nodded and walked back towards the magic elevator.

Obtaining a wand license is a unique requirement in the American wizarding world, and every wizard is required to do so.

Because the Aurors here can trace the wand of the perpetrator through the magical fluctuations on the wand license, thus confirming their identity.

On the 25th basement floor, Li Chuan followed the signs into a room that had been significantly enlarged by the Seamless Stretch Spell.

There are rows of tables arranged neatly, each connected to a transparent metal pipe leading to the upper level.

Every now and then, documents folded into the shape of mice would escape from the pipes and tear into pieces on the table.

This is clearly where congressional staff shred and process useless documents.

However, Li Chuan showed some interest in the magic that turned documents into mice that processed them themselves.

Yesterday, when he was at the British Ministry of Magic, he also saw the witch in the foyer using magic to turn paper into paper airplanes that automatically went to find Theseus Scamander.

At the time, he was thinking that if ordinary paper were replaced with detonating tags, and then they were turned into paper airplanes and flown towards the enemy before being detonated, it would seem to be a good method.

"It seems that next time I go to the Naruto world, I not only need to find a way to learn Orochimaru's ninjutsu, which allows him to swallow objects and preserve them, but I also need to learn how to make explosive tags."

Tina Goldstein, Newt Scamander's future wife. Originally the most outstanding Auror in the Magical Congress of the United States, she violated the Wizarding Secrecy Act by helping an abused Muggle and performing magic in front of a large group of Muggles.

She has now been demoted by Serafina Picqueli, president of the Magical Congress of the United States, to a clerical position in the Wand Licensing Office.

Upon hearing the other person's name, Li Chuan immediately knew who they were.

However, he didn't try to strike up a conversation; he simply handed over Tom's wand and the registration certificate he had just taken in the lobby to the other person.

After Tina produced his wand license, he turned and left like any other wizard who came to process it.

He didn't want his interference to cause significant changes in the later plot, at least not to prevent Newt and Tina's meeting from happening because of him.

That wouldn't be good for his future plans.

His purpose in coming to New York was twofold: first, to leverage the original storyline to establish his public identity and make a name for himself in the wizarding world; and second, to secretly forge a partnership with Grindelwald for personal gain.

Therefore, in the early stages, he will try his best to keep everything under his control so as not to disrupt the development of the plot.

After leaving the Magical Congress of the United States, Li Chuan went directly to Magic Street in New York City, based on the information he had previously researched, and temporarily found a bar to stay in.

The Magic Street in the United States is located in Times Square, New York. The entrance is a stone monument. Touching the stone monument and channeling magic will allow you to enter the Magic Street.

I spent a day exploring the entire Magic Street. Aside from finding some magic books that I hadn't been able to find at Flourish and Blotts and tasting some local magical delicacies, I didn't discover anything else of note.

This is quite normal, though. The United States has been established for less than two hundred years, and the history of American wizards is also quite short, with most of them being immigrants from England.

Even the founder of the American magic school, Iso Thurs, was a magician.

It was because she often heard many stories about Hogwarts from her aunt Gormley Gaunt that she founded Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry out of admiration.

Even the four houses in the school were modeled after the four houses of Hogwarts.

So even though the American Ministry of Magic is much more impressive than the British Ministry of Magic, and the magical streets are much larger than Diagon Alley, in terms of historical depth, American wizards are still inferior to British wizards.

In the movie, if it weren't for Newt Scamander's help, Grindelwald could have wiped out all the Aurors in the Magical Congress of the United States by himself.
