Chapter 210 The Missing Lockhart

Chapter 210 The Missing Lockhart (Fourth Update)

After spending a few days on the magic street in France, Jerry set off back to the Leaky Cauldron in London.

The day I promised Hermione to buy books together is fast approaching.

"Boss, how much is this?"

At 15 Charing Street in London, Jerry picked up a seven-tiered Russian nesting doll from the gift shelf and asked the chubby shopkeeper about it.

He had just returned to London from Hastings by train and hadn't had time to go back to the Leaky Cauldron yet. Just then, he remembered that he hadn't had time to buy the sealed Horcrux, so he found a small gift shop nearby.

"Oh, sir, that would only cost five pounds, but since this is your first time here, I can give you only four pounds!"

The portly boss had just finished settling the bill when he enthusiastically introduced the place to Jerry.

"OK, thanks!"

After paying, he took the seven-layered Russian nesting doll and continued walking towards the Leaky Cauldron.

The seven-layered Russian nesting dolls, each layer sealing a Voldemort soul, use the outer layer of Voldemort to seal the inner Voldemort, making it quite sturdy.

"I need to figure out how to Apparition after school starts!"

As Jerry pushed open the door of the Leaky Cauldron, he thought to himself.

Without Apparition, many things would be very inconvenient. He could have Apparated back to his room or Diagon Alley in no time.

But now, he still has to walk slowly on his own two feet.

The same thing happened when he fought the Aurors in the French Magic Street. Those dark wizards could simply apparite away, but he had to rely on his strength to force his way out.

However, to learn Apparition, you need someone to guide you. If you practice blindly according to the spellbook, it is easy to cause the body to split. For example, after Apparition, the body teleports, but the arms and legs remain in place.

Moreover, even with one-on-one guidance from a teacher, not every wizard can master it.

Otherwise, when the Ministry of Magic sent someone to Hogwarts to teach Apparition last semester, he would have secretly gone to listen in.

Another very important issue is the problem of body tracing.

He wasn't sure whether the trail had landed on his wand or on his body, so even though he rarely used his wand now, he didn't dare use magic outside of Diagon Alley.

If this troublesome problem is not resolved, he will face significant restrictions as long as he remains in the UK until he turns eighteen.

Unless he intends to wipe out the entire Ministry of Magic by himself, although it's not impossible to do so in another two years.

But essentially, he still wanted a more peaceful environment to study magic.

Fortunately, he has already found preliminary solutions to both this problem and the previous one, which is why he bought the seven-layer Russian nesting dolls.

"Mr. Lockhart, could I have your autograph?"

Jerry was taken aback by the lively scene inside the Leaky Cauldron as soon as he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

Despite being located on a magical street like Diagon Alley, the Leaky Cauldron's business is actually quite average due to its ambiance.

Therefore, bars are usually not full and are relatively quiet.

However, the bar was unusually crowded and noisy at that moment.

Upon closer inspection, the main reason was the handsome wizard standing at the bar counter, dressed in a magnificent robe—Gidero Lockhart.

He is also the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts this year.

Gilderoy Lockhart, a third-class Sergeant of the Order of Merlin, an honorary member of the Defense Against the Dark Arts, and a five-time winner of the Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award, is currently the most sought-after author in the wizarding world.

"So it was him! No wonder!"

Seeing Lockhart surrounded by a group of middle-aged witches in their forties asking for autographs at the bar, Jerry's face immediately showed a look of realization.

Avoiding the crazy aunties, Jerry took a detour and went up the stairs to the second floor of the bar.

"Tomorrow afternoon from 12:30 to 4:30, I will be holding a book signing event for my new autobiography, 'The Magical Me,' at Flourish and Blotts Bookstore. Everyone is welcome to come and support me!"

Lockhart, standing at the bar, tossed his golden hair, revealing gleaming teeth, as he signed copies of "Gidero Lockhart Teaches You How to Get Rid of House Pests" for the older women and witches, while also promoting tomorrow's book signing event.

The woman immediately screamed and said she would definitely come to buy it.

The middle-aged male wizards behind them all had rather unpleasant expressions on their faces.

"I guess you won't be able to attend tomorrow's book signing!"

As Jerry walked up the stairs, he saw the scene below, shook his head inwardly, and thought to himself, "What do you mean?"

He had just overheard people in the bar talking about how Lockhart seemed to be staying at the Leaky Cauldron tonight, and that Tom had even waived his accommodation fee.

"Luckily, magic can be cast in Diagon Alley, otherwise it would be really difficult!"

At 10 p.m., Jerry used the Disillusionment Charm to conceal himself and quietly arrived at the door of Lockhart's room.

"The Arahomon Opens!"

With a flick of his finger at the lock, the door was immediately opened by the unlocking spell.

Jerry carefully pushed open the door and entered the room, quickly finding Lockhart fast asleep.

"The soul leaves the body!"

Jerry reached out and cast the Imperius Curse on Lockhart, then took out a magic pen he had bought earlier in the French magic district that could write automatically, and commanded Lockhart:

"Now, tell me in detail all the ways you deceived those accomplished wizards and witches, took their stories for yourself, and erased their memories."

Also, tell me how you managed to trick your way into obtaining the Merlin Medal and becoming an honorary member of the Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Lockhart nodded happily:

"After I graduated from Hogwarts in 1982, I kept thinking about how I could become famous and become a respected wizard like Dumbledore, receiving countless flowers and applause."

But I didn't dare to actually come into contact with or fight those dark wizards, as well as those terrifying vampires and female ghosts.

Fortunately, not long after graduation, I mastered the highly difficult Forgetfulness Spell and used it very well, which gave me a very good idea.

As Lockhart narrates, his life experiences from graduation to the present are gradually recorded by the magic pen.

Two hours later, Jerry cast a forgetting spell and a sleeping spell on Lockhart after he finished recounting his story.

"Let's call this book 'The Real Lockhart'!"

He magically bound dozens of pages filled with Lockhart's life experiences into a book, took the new book with him, left Lockhart's room, and then quietly went to Diagon Alley.

"Copy quickly!"

After casting a copying spell on "The Real Lockhart" and turning it into dozens of copies, Jerry threw these copies one by one in front of the shop in Diagon Alley.

He even opened the door and threw seven or eight copies of the Daily Prophet into the Diagon Alley bureau in one go.

He then used a Transfiguration Charm to transform himself into a middle-aged man, went to the Owl Post Office, and mailed the original document to the Ministry of Magic.

He believes tomorrow will be amazing!
