Chapter 5 Followers Revealed

Inside his room at the orphanage, Jerry recalled what he had said in the yard earlier and figured he probably hadn't left Professor McGonagall with a bad impression.

Although he beat up several teenagers, he just explained the reasons, so it can be considered an act of bravery.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

"They're here!"

Jerry's eyes lit up when he heard the knock, and he immediately got up and opened the door.

The person knocking on the door was the current director of Edward's Orphanage, and standing next to him was a woman who looked to be in her fifties or sixties, wearing square glasses, a Scottish shirt and a green robe.

"Mrs. McGonagall, this is Jerry Carmen you've been looking for!"

The dean's tone was respectful, but Jerry saw a hint of fear in his expression.

"I am the Vice-Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and your future Transfiguration teacher. You can call me Professor McGonagall!"

Professor McGonagall offered an explanation.

Jerry immediately pretended to suddenly realize something:

"So that letter delivered by owl yesterday was written by you. But does magic really exist in this world? And what exactly is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?"

Young wizards raised in Muggle environments often have similar questions when they receive their acceptance letters. McGonagall is used to this and knows how to quickly gain the trust of young wizards.

"Flavoid!"

She drew her wand, pointed it at the cup on the table, and a beam of magic shot out, instantly transforming the cup into a fat orange cat.

"Magic has always existed. You must have had some incredible experiences during your growth. Those were the power of the bloodline within you."

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a school that teaches you how to learn and control magic.

Jerry's eyes widened as he watched Professor McGonagall demonstrate the magic.

Although he had seen the movie on TV in his previous life, the effect of seeing someone turn a cup into a cat with a wave of their hand was completely different.

Jerry thought it was truly magical to transform inanimate matter into living matter in an instant!

"That's the general situation. Is there anything else you'd like to ask?"

He remembered that in the movies, young wizards born into Muggle families could exchange Muggle coins for Galleons at Gringotts, but he figured that his orphanage probably wouldn't be willing to give him money to go to Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall smiled slightly:

"Don't worry about that. The school will provide you with a scholarship to support your studies. You can pay it back after you graduate and start working!"

"Okay, then I have no further questions!"

Jerry nodded. Professor McGonagall had already explained the general situation. The key was that he already knew some of the things from his memories, so he understood them very quickly.

"Very good, Mr. Carmen, it seems you are not only very brave, but also have a strong understanding!"

Professor McGonagall looked at Jerry, who remained remarkably calm, with a satisfied expression in her eyes.

Professor McGonagall had witnessed the entire bullying incident from the orphanage's perimeter wall.

Jerry's performance at the time also impressed her.

He couldn't breathe at all; it felt like his chest was being tightly constricted by several iron clamps. His eyeballs were being forced back into his head, and his eardrums were being pressed deep into his skull.

The feeling was like being squeezed out of a very narrow rubber tube.

It felt like a long time had passed, yet it also felt like only a moment, when light returned to his eyes.

He took a few deep breaths to relieve the dizziness in his head, turned his head to look around, and found that he and Professor McGonagall were no longer in their room at the orphanage, but on a street.
