Marvel's Hogwarts Wizard

Chapter 6 First Steps into Diagon Alley

Chapter 6 First Steps into Diagon Alley

"Are you alright?"

Professor McGonagall asked with some concern.

Jerry smiled and waved his hand:

"I'm fine, just a little dizzy. Where am I?"

He knew that what Professor McGonagall had just cast was an advanced spell that only adult wizards could learn: Apparition and its branch, Follower Apparition.

Apparition, simply put, is teleportation. You can teleport to any place you've been before by recalling it in your mind. It's one of the ways wizards travel.

However, mastering Apparition is not an easy task. Many adult wizards cannot perfectly execute Apparition, and if they are not careful, they may be torn to pieces by spatial forces.

Furthermore, the distance of apparition is also related to the wizard's magical power and proficiency with the spell. Some wizards may only be able to apparate for a few hundred or a few thousand meters, while others can apparate directly from one city to another.

Professor McGonagall clearly belongs to the latter category, but when she used Apparition, she also used Minion Apparition, which not only allows her to teleport directly but also to teleport others.

Jerry thought Professor McGonagall would take him directly to Diagon Alley, but it seems they ended up on a Muggle street instead.

"Charing Cross Street in London is an entrance to Diagon Alley from the Muggle Street. Remember the name and location of this street, because you'll need to come here yourself the next time you come to Diagon Alley!"

It turns out that in Professor McGonagall's eyes, Jerry was a child who knew nothing about the wizarding world, so she naturally had to take him through the whole process of a normal wizard entering Diagon Alley, so that he could enter Diagon Alley independently in the future.

"Look at that bar over there, that's the entrance to Diagon Alley!"

Following Professor McGonagall's finger, Jerry's gaze passed a luxurious movie theater, a popular burger joint, and finally settled between a large bookstore and a record store on the other side.

It was a very dirty, cramped bar with only an old wooden door and a cracked sign hanging on it, on which a few words were written crookedly: Leaky Cauldron!

Although this small bar stands out conspicuously amidst the clean and tidy bookstores and record companies, all the passersby seem to ignore it, as if they can't see it at all.

Jerry knew that ordinary Muggles couldn't see this little bar because it had been cursed by a wizard with a Muggle-repelling spell, a spell that prevented Muggles without wizarding blood from noticing or getting close to it.

"jingle!"

As the bell rang when the wooden door was pushed open, Jerry was pulled by Professor McGonagall into the Leaky Cauldron.

The bar was dimly lit and there weren't many customers. A quick glance revealed only seven or eight wizards in robes drinking and chatting.

When the bell rang, all the wizards in the bar turned their attention to it.

When they recognized Professor McGonagall, they all nodded politely.

As the Vice-Headmaster of Hogwarts and Headmistress of Gryffindor House, Professor McGonagall is quite famous throughout the wizarding world, and many wizards today can actually be considered her students.

Jerry remembered that in his past life, when he read "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," Newt's memories showed that Professor McGonagall was already a teacher at Hogwarts.

In other words, Professor McGonagall taught at Hogwarts for at least fifty years and taught countless students.

"Oh, it's Professor McGonagall. Would you like something to drink?"

At that moment, an old wizard with almost bald hair, who looked like a shriveled walnut, greeted Professor McGonagall with a smile.

"No need, Tom, I need to take the new students to Diagon Alley!"

Professor McGonagall waved her hand and declined.

Since her husband Elphinstone died unexpectedly from a poisonous tentacle bite, she has almost never left Hogwarts except for the annual home visit before the start of the school year, and she rarely stays outside.

"This guy must be getting on in years!"

As Jerry followed Professor McGonagall through the bar to the backyard, he glanced at Tom, the bar owner, and thought to himself.

He remembered that when Voldemort enrolled in the movie, this guy was already the owner of the Leaky Cauldron, and he even shared the same name as Voldemort, Tom.

In the backyard of the Broken Cauldron bar, under the blue brick wall next to the trash can.

Professor McGonagall tapped her wand three times on the wall and explained to Jerry:

"Look, like this, count the third trash can from the top, then two more to the left, and tap it three times with your wand. And there you have it, the entrance to Diagon Alley!"

As Professor McGonagall withdrew her wand, the blue brick that had been struck suddenly began to shake. The entire wall, as if triggering some mechanism, began to rapidly reassemble itself.

Soon, a small hole appeared in the middle of the blue brick wall, and then the hole got bigger and bigger.

Before long, a wide archway appeared before them, large enough for four or five people to pass through at the same time. The archway led to a winding, seemingly endless cobblestone street.

This is Diagon Alley, London's wizarding shopping paradise!

Following Professor McGonagall across the archway and into Diagon Alley, Jerry couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

The scenes from the movie came true, and even though he was mentally prepared, he was still wide-eyed by the magical scene before him.

Unlike the ordinary people outside dressed in light summer clothes, stylishly dressed, and carrying bags, almost everyone on this street is a wizard, wearing various colored robes and holding a wand.

Of course, there are also various wizards' pets, as well as some house-elves and fairies.

"Calligraphy, brass, pewter, and silver crucibles—all sizes available. Automatic stirring, foldable, and extendable. Come take a look!"

"Grey wood owls, horned owls, grass owls, brown owls, snowy owls—all kinds of owls are represented!"

"The latest Nimbus 2000, the fastest flying broomstick—you deserve it!"

"Dragon liver, bat spleen, eel eyeballs, spellbooks, quill pens, parchment, medicine bottles, moon globes—all at cheap prices!"

The shops on both sides of the street were covered with all sorts of "GG" signs, and the area was also crowded with excited little wizards.

"Did you deliver your letter?"

When they arrived at a shop called Patchi's Crucible Shop, McGonagall looked down at Jerry, who was already dazzled by the sights, and asked him a question.

"Carry it with you at all times!"

Jerry pulled the parchment envelope he had received yesterday from his pocket and waved it at Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall nodded:

"Okay, take out the list of essential items inside, and I'll take you to buy them one by one!"

Upon hearing this, Jerry took out the second page of the letter from the envelope, unfolded it, and began to read:

Essential items for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

1. Uniform:

2. Textbook:

3. Other equipment:

4. Pet Description:

Parents are especially reminded that first-grade students are not allowed to bring their own flying brooms.
