Chapter 782 Mr. Miracle
Chapter 782 Mr. Miracle (First Update)
"What did you promise him?"
At the CIA Department of Science and Technology building base, Jerry asked Charles with some curiosity.
Charles smiled:
"After the peaceful life is over, I plan to convert the castle in my house into a school that only admits mutant students. Mr. Howlett can become a teacher at the school and teach the children how to fight and protect themselves."
"Good idea."
Jerry nodded.
It seems that the establishment of the mutant school was already planned in Charles's mind at this time.
It must be said that Charles has a good eye for people. Ron may look fierce on the surface, but he actually has his own bottom line and will not easily harm innocent people.
So he had long been tired of war and killing, and longed for a peaceful life.
"He left early this morning saying he was going to see his brother; I don't know if he'll be able to."
Charles's eyes held a hint of expectation.
Logan's brother has similar abilities to Logan, and if they could recruit him, they would be more confident in dealing with Shang.
However, Jerry shook his head upon hearing this:
"I advise you not to be too happy."
Logan's older brother, nicknamed Sabertooth, is even stronger than Logan without Adamantium, but he is also violent and murderous, with almost no moral compass except for his love for his younger brother.
Such a person is clearly not suitable for Charles's team.
Just as Jerry finished speaking, Logan, dressed in a leather jacket and smoking a cheap cigar, walked towards them from the front door.
"How is it?"
Charles stepped forward and asked.
Logan shook his head:
"He didn't want to leave the army, nor did he want to live a peaceful life. We had a big fight. Oh well, I'll visit him when I have time."
"It's okay. Maybe when your brother gets tired of it, he'll choose a peaceful life like you."
Charles was slightly disappointed, but he didn't show it on his face.
At that moment, a figure suddenly rushed over:
"Charles, we've found a lead on Shang; he's in the Soviet Union now."
The newcomer was none other than CIA's beautiful agent, Mora Marktag.
Charles turned to look at Jerry beside him, about to speak, but was interrupted by Jerry, who had already seen through his thoughts.
"I'm sorry, I have some business to attend to in New York these next couple of days, so I won't be able to come with you."
"All right!"
Seeing that Jerry refused so readily, Charles had no choice but to take Logan and Mora to find Eric.
Charles now wants to involve Jerry in every mission, partly because Jerry always manages to divulge information they don't know, and partly because of Jerry's capabilities.
Although Jerry has never seemed to have shown his true abilities so far, the astute Charles has already noticed Jerry's extraordinary strength from various details.
First of all, since Jerry was able to block his telepathic abilities, it means that Jerry is at least not much weaker than him in terms of telepathic abilities.
Secondly, considering that Jerry claimed to have expended a great deal of energy but easily modified Hank and Raven's genes, causing changes in their appearance, it's clear that Jerry possesses a powerful ability to influence mutant genes.
Secondly, Jerry's physique was also extraordinary. During the search for mutants, he never saw Jerry sweat, even when they had walked a long way and he and Eric were panting heavily, Jerry was as if nothing had happened.
Moreover, Jerry once revealed that he seems to have lived a very long time and may not be younger than Logan.
Finally, and very subtly, he noticed that every time Jerry took out something—money, paper, food, or drink—it seemed to appear out of thin air.
Others might not have noticed and might have assumed that Jerry had taken it out of his pocket or somewhere else when they weren't looking, but he, with his powerful mental abilities, knew that Jerry had conjured it out of thin air.
Therefore, he speculated that Jerry might also have a spatial ability, either spatial storage or spatial transfer.
"You guys are having a blast!"
While Charles and his team went to meet with CIA Director McKen to discuss the next arrest plan, Jerry strolled to the agents' recreational area behind the building.
Meanwhile, Mike, Raven, and the newly recruited mutants were partying, showing off their abilities, and even the bronze statue of Washington in the yard was cut in half.
"Jerry, let's dance! We've given you a new nickname, Mr. Miracle, because you brought miracles to Hank and me!"
When Raven saw Jerry appear, he stopped his dance battle with Hank and ran out to invite Jerry to join him.
"I think you'd better tone it down for now. It wouldn't look good if Charles and the others saw you like this when they came over."
Jerry didn't go up and dance with Raven; instead, he snapped his fingers.
Then, the whole scene begins to rewind, with the damaged Washington statue, the burning lawn, the shattered glass walls, and the messy lounge all reverting to their original state as if time had reversed.
"Oh my God, this really is like a miracle, so cool!"
Looking at the changes around them, the newly joined mutants couldn't help but exclaim in amazement.
Even Hank and Raven stared wide-eyed; neither of them had ever seen Jerry use such an ability before.
"It seems you've all come up with nicknames for yourselves?"
Once everything was back to normal, Jerry pushed open the glass door and entered the lounge.
He didn't see anything wrong with the group's revelry; they were all in their twenties and tried to hide themselves as much as possible every day.
Now that we no longer have to hide, and can gather with our kind, there's nothing wrong with celebrating.
"Yes, my name is Mystique, Hank is the Beast, Salvador is the Angel, Sean is the Siren, Aman is Darwin, Alex is the Destroyer, and we've decided to be Professor Charles X and Magneto!"
Once Raven had regained his composure, he sat on the sofa and introduced Jerry to the nicknames they had just come up with.
"That's quite a vivid description. Oh, Charles and the others are here; you'll have something to do right away!"
Jerry nodded, then seemed to realize something and smiled at everyone.
Not long after he finished speaking, Charles, Eric, Logan, and Mora appeared outside the glass door, seemingly arguing about something.
"These children are not ready yet; they need to learn and train!"
"Learning and training in real combat will be more effective; they are not ordinary people."
The argument mainly stemmed from Charles and Eric, with Charles feeling that the recruited mutants were not mature enough and needed to be trained before they could carry out missions.
Eric, who was born an assassin, disagreed, believing that real combat was the best way to grow.
