Chapter 781 Logan Howlett

Chapter 781 Logan Howlett (Second Update)

The energetic music and lively dance can be quite intoxicating for most people.

However, after his initial curiosity wore off, Jerry found the noise a bit too much. He didn't particularly like this kind of environment; he just hadn't experienced it before, so he found it somewhat interesting at first.

"Let's get down to business!"

Seeing Eric and Charles enjoying themselves, Jerry spoke up to offer a reminder.

Charles gestured to Eric, who smiled and pulled two US dollars from his pocket, waving them at the beautiful woman dancing in the middle.

The woman's eyes lit up immediately. She swayed her hips and walked over, squatting down in front of the three of them with a seductive grace, like a water snake.

"Handsome guys with plenty of money can enjoy a private dance in a VIP box!"

When the woman spoke, she deliberately emphasized the word "private," as if she were hinting at something.

"Then let's go to a private room."

Jerry felt increasingly that the place was too noisy, and that it would be better to go to a private room to talk things out in a quieter place.

Upon hearing this, the woman's face immediately lit up with a smile. She deftly flipped herself off the table and landed on her feet, leading the three of them toward the large private room inside the bar.

Unlike ordinary hotel private rooms with large tables and sofas, the decorations in this unique bar private room are quite "romantic," with a bright red bed in the center and various drinks placed around it.

Even the glass opposite the large bed has been replaced with a transparent or semi-transparent one.

Jerry is now looking at the glass opposite the bed, and he can see the whole scene in the hall outside, but the people outside can't see what's happening in the private room.

At this moment, he understood what the private room was for; it seemed that it wasn't just for enjoying a private dance, as the woman in black had said.

"Are you coming one by one, or three together? If three together, then it'll cost extra!"

After entering the private room, the woman walked to the large red bed and then smiled at Jerry and the other two.

"Alright, you two talk, I'll wait for you outside the bar."

Upon hearing this, Jerry grinned, then left the task of recruiting the woman in black to Charles and Eric before leaving the private room.

Not long after, Jerry, who was having coffee at a coffee shop across from the bar, saw Charles and Eric leave the bar with the dancer who was now wearing a leather jacket.

"It seems the recruitment was successful."

Seeing this, Jerry also left the coffee shop.

Mutants like dancers are actually quite easy to recruit; a job in a national government agency is attractive enough.

And so, for the next period of time, Jerry, Charles, and Eric frequented various nearby cities, searching for mutants who met the recruitment criteria.

There are Black drivers whose bodies can evolve according to their environment, young people who lock themselves in prison for fear that their abilities will harm others, and college students who can emit ultrasonic waves.

However, just when Charles and Eric thought everything was going well, they encountered their first Waterloo.

"What's wrong? You guys seem a bit unhappy. Didn't you find anyone?"

At the entrance of a small street bar, Jerry looked at Charles and Eric, whose faces didn't look too good, and a hint of surprise appeared on his face.

He thought the bar was too noisy, so he didn't go in with the two of them.

"Found him, but he doesn't want to join us."

Charles shrugged helplessly.

Jerry raised an eyebrow, his mental energy quickly covering the entire bar. When he saw the burly, bearded man sitting inside, he immediately understood what was going on.

The only person who could possibly frustrate Charles, a psychology professor with telepathic abilities, is Logan Howlett, who has lived for 130 years and survived the Civil War, World War I, and World War II.

No matter how eloquently you try to persuade me, I simply refuse. If you keep nagging me, I'll kill you.

When young Charles met Logan, who had not yet lost his memory, it was like a scholar encountering a soldier—there was no way to reason with him.

"If his claws were metal, I would have taught him a lesson just now!"

Eric let out a cold snort.

The two had just found their target who was drinking and invited him to join their group, but he immediately told them to get lost. Before the two could continue to persuade him, two sharp bone claws appeared on their chins.

"His name is Logan, or rather, James Howlett now. Born in 1832, he not only has sharp bone claws that can grow on his hands to kill enemies, but also has an extremely strong self-healing ability, making him practically immortal."

"And he has a wealth of combat experience. I think you should try harder to win him over."

Jerry shared Ron's intelligence with Charles and Eric.

He felt that if Logan had joined Charles's group at that time, his fate would have been different, and he wouldn't have had such a miserable old age.

He killed his biological father when he awakened his abilities, and later he and his older brother Sabretooth were constantly drawn into the quagmire of war, and were also deceived and experimented on by Stryker in various ways.

He suffered from amnesia, none of the women he loved survived, and in his later years, due to Adams' metal poisoning, his self-healing ability disappeared, and he was cruelly killed by his clone.

Wolverine's life was even more tragic than Thor's; he was truly a cursed lone star.

If Charles had Logan at this point, Logan's superior combat abilities and experience would undoubtedly have been a great help in the upcoming battles.

Don't underestimate Logan's fighting ability just because he hasn't been implanted with adamantium and become the real Wolverine yet. With his willpower, experience, and healing factor, most mutants are no match for him.

Some mutants do possess powerful abilities, but without a strong mind to control them, even ordinary people could subdue them.

"Jerry, you really know a lot about the experiences and abilities of many mutants."

After listening to Jerry's account, Charles's eyes held a strange expression.

The reason he always tries to bring Jerry along when he goes out to find mutants is because Jerry can always casually reveal some crucial information that they don't know.

"Maybe it's because I've lived a relatively long time."

Jerry shrugged and made up an excuse to get away with it.

Charles, being a smart man, didn't press the matter, but instead pulled Eric back into the bar.

Currently, Charles's telepathic abilities can only roughly read other people's mental activities. To read memories hidden deep in their minds, he needs to place his hand on the other person's head.

Therefore, Charles was unaware of Logan's personality and background when he recruited him.

Now that Jerry had thoroughly investigated Logan's background, Charles, a master of psychology, naturally knew how to persuade Logan.

Sure enough, twenty minutes later, Jerry saw Logan walk out of the bar with Charles and Eric.
