Chapter 817 On the Verge of Explosion (Second Update)

"Now that we have the manual, let's begin to transform the Earth!"

Knowing that the gene for the Codex was within Clark's cells, Zod waved his hand to shut down the virtual screen monitoring Jerry and Clark, and gave an order to the Kryptonian warrior piloting the warship:

"Activate the Qiankun Engine!"

At Zod's command, a massive machine that was originally installed at the bottom of the warship suddenly detached from the ship and fell toward the Indian Ocean, while the Kryptonian warship itself flew toward Metropolis.

The Qiankun Engine is a unique device used by Krypton to conquer and terraform planets.

By simply installing an engine on one side of a planet and activating a unique phantom emitter on the other side, the mass of the entire planet can be greatly increased, creating a particle environment suitable for Kryptonians to live in.

The actions of the Zod battleships were clearly also known to the Earth's human government, which had been monitoring them with satellites.

Only then did the human governments realize that Zod's talk of peace was all a lie, and that war between Earth and Krypton was simply unavoidable.

Similarly, Jerry, who had been pretending to persuade Clark, also used his powerful mental abilities to see through everything that was happening on the spaceship, and stood up to speak:

However, just as she waved to have her two subordinates escort Clark to the laboratory, a green light suddenly flew out of Jerry's hand and slammed into her face, which was not protected by the suit.

Even if the Flash were to travel at the speed of light in Justice League, Superman would still be able to spot him and easily defeat him.

Therefore, with Jerry's current strength, Fiora could easily dodge the magic beam he fired.

However, it was too late; they were facing the powerful Clark and Fiora, whose mind was controlled by Jerry using the Imperius Curse.

With two against two, plus Jerry's magical assistance, the two Kryptonian warriors were quickly knocked unconscious and left on the ground.

"Tell me, how does Zod plan to transform Earth into Krypton?"

Seeing that Fiora was under Jerry's magical control, Clark asked her a question.

Fiora readily revealed Zod's entire modification plan.

"It's too late. The Qiankun Engine is already in the Indian Ocean above your Earth, and the warships will soon be over Metropolis. Once the Phantom Launcher is activated, Earth will be transformed."

Clark had just extracted the information from Fiora and hadn't even figured out what to do when Zod noticed something was wrong and arrived with a large number of Kryptonian warriors.

"Let's get out of here first. I know how to stop them."

Jerry put one hand on Clark's shoulder and the other on the controlled Fiora's shoulder, then Apparated the two of them and left the Kryptonian warship at the same time.

When Zod arrived and saw Jerry take Clark and Fiora away, he was furious.

I knew that Earthling was suspicious, but I never expected him to be able to teleport.

However, he quickly calmed down and gave an order to the Kryptonian scientist beside him:

"The manual cannot be lost. I'll take men to chase them, you take men to activate the phantom launchers!"

The manual is inside Clark's cells, so we absolutely cannot let them escape, no matter what.

Fortunately, they had also kidnapped Fiona, whose suit contained a GPS tracker, allowing them to pinpoint her location. There was still hope for a resolution.

On the other side, Jerry had just teleported away with Clark and Fiora when he saw the huge Kryptonian warship about to land above Metropolis.

"Zod must not be allowed to activate the Phantom Launcher. The buildings in Metropolis cannot withstand the energy from the Phantom Launcher, which will cause a large number of civilian deaths."

Clark looked at the warship that was steadily hovering above the metropolis, charging up its energy in preparation for launching it, and a worried expression appeared on his face.

Jerry waved his hand dismissively:

"Don't worry, I'm prepared. You and Fiora go and hold off Zod and the others!"

As the Kryptonian warship came to a stop, General Zod, along with a dozen Kryptonian warriors, flew toward Jerry and Clark's location using GPS.

"Okay, then be careful."

Clark knew that the only option at this point was to trust Jerry, so he and Fiora, who was being controlled by Jerry, faced General Zod and his men head-on.

Although Zod's side has more troops, they are new to Earth and not as adapted to Earth as Clark. So, if a real fight breaks out, with Fiora as a helper, they should be able to hold out for a while.

Remember, in the movies, Superman single-handedly defeated all the Kryptonians. Although this was mainly achieved by utilizing the space-distorting energy released when two phantom launchers collided.

Watching Clark leave with Fiora, Jerry also teleported away once again.

"Phantom Launcher activated!"

Inside the Kryptonian warship, after reaching the designated position, the Kryptonian scientist decisively pressed the launch button, and a huge beam of energy shot down from the bottom of the warship towards the metropolis below.

The citizens of Metropolis, who had been staring blankly at the Kryptonian warship in the sky, realized something was wrong and began screaming as they scattered and fled in all directions away from the energy beams.

The human army's fighter jets and various weapons, which they considered advanced, bombarded the Kryptonian warship as it landed.

Unfortunately, Earth's technological weapons were no match for the Kryptonian warship's thick defenses and were easily shot down by its mechanical tentacles, serving no purpose whatsoever.

Just as the enormous beam of energy was about to strike the ground of the metropolis, a figure suddenly appeared directly beneath it.
