Chapter 86 The Christmas Holiday Begins

Chapter 86 The Christmas Holiday Begins (Fifth Update)

Since figuring out who Nicolas Lemaître was, nothing particularly noteworthy had happened until the Christmas holidays.

Jerry was studying hard as usual, but this time his focus was not on spells, but on potion making.

When he went to the library, he mostly read books on potions, and even the questions he asked Snape were mostly related to potions.

This greatly pleased Snape.

During this time, at Harry's invitation, Jerry and Hermione took a day to visit Hagrid's cottage and became friends with him.

Hagrid was quite surprised that Harry and Ron had brought a Slytherin friend with them.

Because he knew that Harry and Ron were very hostile towards Slytherin.

However, after spending time with Jerry, Hagrid quickly discovered that Jerry was different from other Slytherins. In particular, Jerry really appreciated the rock bread Hagrid made and seemed to be very interested in magical creatures, which instantly made Hagrid like him even more.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione were deeply shocked that Jerry could actually eat the rock-crusted bread Hagrid made, which was so hard it could break your teeth.

Ron, in particular, felt that this was something even more impressive than Jerry's magical ability.

Jerry can only say that he's in great health and has a great appetite!

And so, the first day of the Christmas holiday arrived.

After breakfast, except for a few who stayed on campus, the rest of the young wizards returned to their dormitories and packed their belongings.

After a while, they will all board the Hogwarts Express and leave Hogwarts Castle, just like when they came to school, and Jerry is no exception.

However, he had very few things, because he had thrown most of them into a small box beforehand.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas in advance!

Having finished packing and pulling his suitcase, Jerry walked to the door, then, as if remembering something, turned back and waved to the three Malfoys who were still packing!

The Malfoy trio were clearly taken aback, not expecting that Jerry, who usually spent most of his time reading and rarely interacted with them, would actually take the initiative to greet them today.

For some reason, the three of them felt a little happy at this moment.

Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

Nodding, Jerry pulled his suitcase and left the Slytherin dormitory.

Upon arriving on the first floor, he did not immediately follow the flow of young wizards to Hogsmeade Station, but instead went to the Great Hall first.

Because we had arranged to say goodbye to Harry and Ron here with Hermione.

Hermione, having family around, certainly wouldn't choose to stay at school for Christmas, while Harry, not wanting to go back and see his aunt and uncle's ugly faces, chose to stay at school.

As for Ron, he stayed behind with his three older brothers because his parents planned to visit their second son, Charlie, in Romania this Christmas.

Upon arriving at the auditorium, Jerry noticed that it appeared exceptionally beautiful and magnificent compared to usual.

The walls were covered with cascading ribbons of holly and mistletoe, and twelve towering Christmas trees stood all around, some adorned with glittering icicles and others sparkling with hundreds of candles.

Some were even covered with tiny golden bubbles that had been magically created.

"Jerry, over here!"

Just as Jerry's eyes were drawn to the various beautiful decorations in the Great Hall, Harry and Ron waved to him from the Gryffindor long table.

"Are you playing Wizard Chess?"

Jerry walked over and found that Harry and Ron were playing wizard chess, a game very popular among wizards.

Wizard Chess is a type of chess game where pieces move to target squares automatically according to the player's commands. When a piece is captured, it is flipped over by the opponent's piece and then dragged off the board.

Jerry wasn't particularly interested in playing Wizard's Chess, but he was very interested in the alchemy involved in creating it.

During this time, he spent a lot of time studying the "Fundamentals and Extensions of Alchemy" that he had copied from the forbidden book section, which mentioned this kind of alchemy that imbues ordinary matter with intelligence.

However, the content is extremely profound, and he estimates that he will not be able to master it in a short period of time.

Actually, Jerry was quite shocked by this alchemy that could imbue ordinary matter with intelligence.

If you don't delve into it, it might not seem like much, but if you do, you'll find that this alchemy is truly incredible, even a bit frightening.

This is equivalent to creating a new race, a new life, possessing supernatural powers at the level of God or Nuwa.

Of course, it is still far from truly creating life, but it is already moving in that direction.

Just like now, the chess pieces on the board, besides acting according to commands, are even arguing and offering their own opinions and views to Harry and Ron. They have clearly developed their own personalities, or rather, their own souls.

There's also the magical car that Arthur Weasley modified with alchemy and magic, which, due to Ron's overuse, drove into the Forbidden Forest in anger, and then became wild and refused to go back.

The most outstanding of them all is the Sorting Hat, which lives for thousands of years and possesses not only intelligence comparable to that of humans, but also special magical abilities.

"Don't send me there. Didn't you see his horse? Send him. It doesn't matter if he's killed."

On the chessboard, when Harry's bishop heard that Harry actually wanted him to step forward, he immediately pointed at the soldier next to him in a fit of rage and gave the order.

Seeing this, Harry scratched his head somewhat embarrassed:

"This chess set was lent to me by Simon; they don't trust me enough!"

"Trust is useless. I'm a master of wizard chess; even Hermione is no match for me."

Upon hearing this, Ron raised his chin with a hint of pride.

This is currently the only skill he can be proud of.

"Jerry, wanna play a game with me?"

After winning over Harry, Ron's eyes lit up and he set his sights on the exceptionally talented Jerry.

If he beats Jerry at Wizard Chess, he can brag about it later.

"I don't have a Wizard's Chess set. I'll buy one after Christmas and we can play together when school starts!"

Jerry was planning to use his time to practice alchemy after his return, and Wizard Chess is relatively simple. If he could make a set himself, it would be considered a beginner's introduction to alchemy.

"Jerry, Harry, Ron, you're all here!"

Just then, wrapped in a huge Gryffindor scarf and dragging a super-sized suitcase that was almost as tall as herself, Hermione walked over to the three of them excitedly.

"Hermione, the Christmas holiday is two weeks, not two months. How do you have so much stuff?"

Jerry felt that Hermione seemed to have stuffed all her belongings into the box, otherwise the box wouldn't be so bulging.

"But I feel like I'll need all these things during the holidays!"

Hermione blinked her eyes innocently.

I'll try my best and see if I can post two more chapters later!
