Chapter 30 Book

Soon, the helicopter slowly landed on the helipad of a military base.

As Fugaku Uchiha followed the officer off the helicopter, he immediately sensed the heavy atmosphere around him the moment his feet touched the ground.

He scanned the perimeter of the tarmac and saw rows of fully armed soldiers standing ready, with tanks and missile vehicles neatly arranged around the perimeter.

Fugaku's expression turned slightly serious. Although these weapons had unusual designs, he could sense the dangerous aura they exuded.

"plz follow me."

The officer gestured for Fugaku to follow, and the two quickly crossed the tarmac, heading deeper into the base. Along the way, Fugaku noticed many soldiers casting curious yet wary glances his way.

Soon, they arrived at a concealed entrance. The officer quickly entered a string of numbers into the combination lock by the door, and with a soft click, the heavy metal door slowly slid open, revealing an elevator.

Fugaku followed the officer into the elevator, and the elevator doors closed silently behind him.

Just then, a sudden feeling of weightlessness came over me, as if I were suspended in mid-air.

At this moment, Fugaku Uchiha could clearly feel the elevator falling to the ground at an extraordinary speed, probably already hundreds of meters deep.

The officer seemed to notice Fugaku's surprise and explained, "The base is built underground. To ensure operational efficiency, the elevator speed has been specially adjusted."

After plummeting at high speed for a moment, the elevator gradually slowed down and eventually came to a complete stop.

With a crisp "ding," the elevator doors slowly slid open, revealing a metal corridor before Fugaku Uchiha.

On both sides of the corridor were rows of tightly closed metal doors. The officer strode to a door and quickly entered a string of numbers into a combination lock. With a "beep," the lock opened.

Fugaku's gaze swept around the room. It was a small room with metal walls and no windows. In the center of the room was a simple bed and a table, with nothing else furnished.

"This is your temporary resting place. General Stark will be here to see you soon," the officer said to Fugaku, his tone respectful.

Fugaku Uchiha glanced around, his brow furrowing slightly. Although nothing was outwardly apparent, he keenly sensed an unsettling atmosphere permeating the room. It was as if countless eyes were watching from the shadows, making him feel constantly uneasy.

He narrowed his eyes, and his Sharingan with its three tomoe reappeared. As his gaze swept across every corner of the room, those previously hidden details were instantly revealed.

In every corner, tiny instruments were installed, each with a flashing red dot, all aimed at the center of the room.

"Surveillance equipment?" Fugaku murmured to himself. Clearly, his every move was being secretly monitored.

But what concerned him even more was the room's structure. The solid metal walls, the small, enclosed space, and the various signs of being buried deep underground all indicated that this place was specifically "prepared" for him.

"Is this to restrict my use of Susanoo?" Fugaku frowned slightly, but if it really came down to a fight, this room probably wouldn't be able to hold him back.

Just as the officer turned to leave, Fugaku suddenly called out to him, "Wait a minute."

The officer paused, turning around with a puzzled expression. "Is there anything else?"

"Could I have a few books?" Fugaku asked calmly, a hint of nonchalance in his voice. "You always need something to pass the time while you're waiting."

The officer frowned slightly, seemingly surprised by this request: "Books? What kind of books would you like to read?"

Fugaku's lips curled up slightly, a faint smile playing on his lips: "Nothing special, just some ordinary reading material, good for passing the time."

If you want to quickly understand a new world, starting with books is undoubtedly the most convenient and effective way.

Just then, his communicator suddenly rang. Accompanied by a static sound, a deep voice came through: "Give it to him, and meet his needs as much as possible."

The officer visibly stiffened, seemingly surprised by his superior's order. However, he quickly regained his composure and bowed slightly to Fugaku: "Very well, I will send you some books as soon as possible. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need anything else."

Soon, stacks of books were brought into Fugaku Uchiha's room and neatly piled on the table.

Fugaku casually picked up a book titled "100,000 Whys" and opened the cover. Although the dense text on the pages was completely unfamiliar to him, the meaning behind it automatically appeared in his mind as soon as he glanced at it.

With the Sharingan's enhancement, he flipped through the pages at a speed far exceeding that of ordinary people.

The contents of the book seemed to have been scanned by a high-speed scanner, and every word was clearly imprinted in his mind.

Fugaku's gaze darted across the pages, his fingers turning them incessantly, the pages rustling softly.

In the blink of an eye, books were quickly "read" in his hands, and the pile of books on the table visibly grew shorter and shorter.

I'm currently reading the error-free version! This is the first time I've published this novel.

Closing the last book, Fugaku slowly exhaled and fell into deep thought. Through these books, he had gained a basic understanding of the world's fundamental conditions.

"A world without chakra, huh? How amazing," he murmured to himself, his voice low and slightly hoarse.

At this moment, Fugaku recalled the social system and humanistic ideas described in the book and couldn't help but feel a sense of shock.

Although the book only briefly mentioned these contents, it was enough for him to realize that this world was far more advanced than the ninja world in terms of ideas and systems.

In the world of ninjas, almost all power is in the hands of the Kage. Although nominally the Kage is responsible to the villagers and elders, in reality, the Kage's power is almost unchecked and they can remain in office for almost their entire lives.

This system has many flaws. If a village encounters an incompetent or ambitious leader, the entire village could be plunged into disaster.

Unsettling news from Kirigakure recently surfaced involuntarily in Fugaku's mind.

It is said that a policy called "Blood Mist" has been implemented there, which is absolutely inhuman.

But this book describing the course of history opened a completely new window of perspective for him.

The book recounts that the world once went through a similar phase. However, with advancements in technology and increased productivity, people's living standards gradually improved, and their consciousness was liberated, ultimately leading to the current system.

"The economic base determines the superstructure, and the superstructure reacts on the economic base," Fugaku murmured to himself, recalling a passage from the book.

The ninja clan possessed immense productive power, yet they were constantly engaged in warfare, with battles between villages seemingly never ceasing. In such an environment, it was difficult for people to dedicate the energy to developing the economy and improving their lives.

"How ironic," Fugaku muttered to himself, a hint of helplessness and lament in his voice. "They have no supernatural powers, yet they have far more advanced systems, while we, despite possessing immense power, are still trapped in the vortex of war, unable to extricate ourselves."
