Chapter 35 Base Destruction

General Stark approached Newton: "What did you see?"

Newton's eyes were vacant, and he mumbled incoherently, "Kaiju invasion vanguard."

"Wake up!" Stark's face darkened, and he raised his hand to slap Newton hard across the face.

Newton turned his head to the side after being slapped, but seemed to wake up instantly.

He grabbed Stark's arm: "General, listen to me! Those Kaijus aren't some unknown creatures at all; they're an advance force sent by an interstellar colonial empire to invade Earth!"

Newton swallowed hard and continued, "That empire has invaded countless planets. Once a planet's resources are exhausted, they abandon it and move on to the next target. And now, Earth is the fat meat they've set their sights on!"

"You mean, those monsters from level one to level four are just scouts?" Stark's expression grew increasingly serious.

Newton nodded: "That's right, the real army is yet to come!"

Just then, a piercing alarm suddenly blared throughout the base. Warning lights flashed frantically, casting an eerie red glow over the entire hall.

Stark's pupils constricted sharply, and his expression instantly turned serious: "It's a Kaiju invasion alert!"

Before he finished speaking, he had already turned around abruptly and strode out of the room, heading rapidly towards the command center. Seeing this, everyone quickly followed in his footsteps.

Upon entering the command center, Stark went straight to the main control console.

At that moment, a technician stared gravely at the fluctuating data on the screen: "General, new energy activity detected! Located in the center of the Pacific Ocean!"

"What are the specifics?" General Stark asked in a deep voice, a hint of urgency in his tone.

"Something's not right with this data." The technician's fingers flew across the keyboard. "This monster's size and energy far surpass previous monsters; it's almost reached the limit of a Level 4 monster!"

Dr. Herman frowned in confusion and turned to the technician: "Are you sure there's only one monster? No other anomalies detected?"

The technicians explained, "We have only detected one energy signal so far."

"This is impossible!" Hermann suddenly raised his voice, the sound echoing in the command room. "According to my calculation model, this attack must be a two-part event; it can't be just one!"

Hermann, waving his cane excitedly, approached the screen, his eyes filled with disbelief: "My model has never made a mistake; it has always accurately predicted the monster's attack pattern. This time, there's absolutely no exception!"

Just then, General Stark, who had been silent all along, raised his hand to interrupt the two.

"Enough!" he roared, his voice booming through the command room. "This is not the time to discuss this!"

He turned to face the entire group, his voice resolute: "Immediately gather all pilots and have them prepare to proceed to their respective mechs!"

General Stark turned to Fugaku Uchiha: "You come along too."

Fugaku nodded slightly and followed Stark's footsteps.

The entire base instantly entered a state of war, with alarms echoing in every corner and red warning lights flashing incessantly, making the corridors appear as if stained with blood.

The staff members, with serious expressions and hurried movements, didn't have time to say much. They quickly moved between their respective posts, throwing themselves into their work with great urgency.

A tense atmosphere filled the air, making even breathing seem heavy.

Soon, the two arrived at a suspended passageway. This passageway led directly to the cockpit of the mechs and was the only way for the mech hunters to go before launching an attack.

Other combat personnel had already begun busily donning their equipment. The clanging of metal echoed throughout the room.

Just then, Chuck emerged from some corner of the crowd. He pushed his way through the people around him and went straight to Fugaku Uchiha, a provocative smile on his face.

"Hey, outsider," Chuck said flippantly, "this Kaiju isn't yours to compare to the last one. This is a genuine Level 4 Kaiju. Your little tricks aren't even worth mentioning. I'll show people who their real hero is."

Upon hearing this, Fugaku Uchiha merely glanced at Chuck indifferently before looking away again.

Many young people in the ninja world who have just entered the battlefield are like this: they are young and impetuous, and like to show off, but when they actually enter the battlefield, they are often the first to die.

Chuck's face flushed crimson upon seeing this. He clenched his fists, his eyes burning with rage, clearly thoroughly enraged by Fugaku's attitude.

Just then, a tall, resolute-looking middle-aged man strode out from the crowd; it was Heca.

He pulled Chuck away swiftly and decisively, with an undeniable air of authority.

"Chuck, watch your words! This is not the time to fool around."

Chuck's expression changed instantly after Heka said that, but he still stubbornly raised his head and snorted defiantly.

Heka gave Uchiha Fugaku an apologetic glance and said sincerely, "Sorry, this kid just has a sharp tongue, please don't take it to heart."

He then gave a friendly smile. "My name is Heck Hansen, and I'm one of the pilots of the Eureka Raiders. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Uchiha."

Fugaku Uchiha nodded as he looked at the man in front of him.

I'm currently reading the error-free version! This is the first time I've published this novel.

Just then, General Stark's booming voice suddenly echoed throughout the base.

"The monster is preparing to land at the city's port. We need to intercept it before it lands and minimize casualties!"

Just as Stark gave the order, a technician nearby suddenly exclaimed, "General! The monster's movement speed has suddenly increased! Its signal is rapidly approaching the coastline!"

Before the words were finished, another, even more urgent shout rang out: "Wait! The signal is gone!"

"What?!" Stark's expression changed instantly. He turned sharply to look at the technician, his eyes filled with disbelief.

The technician stared at the screen, his fingers flying across the keyboard, his brow furrowed: "No energy response can be detected now!"

For a moment, the entire command center fell into an eerie silence. Everyone held their breath, their faces filled with confusion and unease.

Just then, the ground suddenly began to shake violently, as if an invisible giant hand was violently shaking the earth.

Everyone was unsteady on their feet, swaying and grabbing at nearby objects in an attempt to regain their balance.

boom!

Suddenly, a loud bang was heard, and the ground of the base was instantly blown apart, sending countless pieces of rock and dirt flying into the air.

Immediately afterwards, a colossal object slowly rose from the depths of the earth, forcefully splitting open the ground beneath their feet, like an unstoppable wall of flesh, blocking everyone's view.

Its enormous body stretched upwards endlessly. Finally, its massive head slammed heavily against the ceiling, and concrete debris rained down, striking its hard shell with a crisp, resounding clang.

Everyone looked up and gasped, their eyes filled with disbelief and shock.

It was a giant worm hundreds of meters long! Its body was composed of countless segments, each covered with terrifying barbs that gleamed with a cold, sharp light.

Dozens of tiny, dark eyes, gleaming with a disgusting green light, circled around the grotesque insect's head.

"This...this is impossible!" General Stark's eyes widened, cold sweat pouring down his forehead. "How could they possibly know the location of the base?!"
