Chapter 105 Uninvited Guest

Weiss arrived in Harugion, a bustling port city that attracted ships from all directions.

The huge sails reflected in the shimmering water, and busy figures moved about the dock.

Harugeon City itself is not a city with frequent magical activities, and mages are rarely encountered here. However, the magical carriages that can be seen everywhere and the magical toys that children play with all demonstrate the highly developed magical civilization of the continent of Asland.

Magic has long been an indispensable part of people's lives.

Wes asked several friendly locals about shops selling magical items, and was told that there was only one magical shop in this bustling city.

He followed the directions and soon saw the narrow door with a faded sign that read "Source of Magic".

Weiss gently pushed open the wooden door, which was only wide enough for one person to pass through sideways.

"Ding-a-ling~"

"Welcome!" As the crisp bell rang, the owner came out from behind the counter and greeted us warmly.

Weiss looked around. The shop wasn't big, probably around 30 square meters, but it was arranged in a very orderly manner.

The shelves were filled with all sorts of magical items. Although the magical energy they emitted was not strong, each one was so novel and unique. Their appearance was very different from the magical items in the Harry Potter world, and they exuded a mysterious aura unique to Aslant.

The shop owner was clearly a shrewd businessman. He first subtly observed Wes, then immediately realized that this customer was no ordinary person.

Typically, customers who look around hesitantly after entering the store are probably just visiting out of curiosity; while someone as composed as Wes is clearly well-prepared and is very likely to become one of his big clients.

The proprietor squinted and smiled obsequiously, "This guest is a stranger. Is this your first time in Harujion?"

Wes nodded. "I heard that your shop is the only magic shop around here, so I came to check it out."

Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper's face became even more animated, every muscle straining to display the most enthusiastic smile: "Please allow me to introduce our shop to you. Although it may not look very big, the variety of goods here will definitely surprise you. Whether it's magical tents for outdoor camping, lighting equipment that can automatically adjust the temperature, or various magical potions to enhance magic power or heal wounds, we have it all."

Wes's gaze swept back and forth between the shelves. The fact that such a small magic shop had such a complete selection of goods showed that the level of magic in this world surpassed that of the Harry Potter world.

He carefully selected several items, and with each item he picked up, the boss's smile deepened.

Wow, this customer is like a windfall! This single order could probably equal my entire month's revenue!

Just as Wes was about to pay, he suddenly realized that he didn't have the world's currency in his wallet.

He paused awkwardly, at which point the shopkeeper's smile froze on his face: "Sir, you didn't bring any money?"

Wes pondered for a moment, then took out a gleaming gold bar from his small bag: "Would you take this?"

The boss's eyes lit up suddenly. "Gold?! Of course, I'll take it!"

After verifying the authenticity of the gold bars, the shopkeeper swiftly completed the transaction, gave Wes a stack of local currency as change, and respectfully saw him out of the shop, not forgetting to loudly wish him, "Have a wonderful time in Harugeon!"

After leaving the shop, Wes headed straight for an elegantly decorated restaurant. He chose a seat by the window, and the waiter quickly brought him his food: tender lobster, rich seafood risotto, and dessert.

Wes couldn't help but swallow hard.

Just as he was about to savor the delicacies, a short man wearing glasses and a strange mask appeared uninvited and sat down directly opposite him.

Wes didn't look up, but his tone was slightly indifferent: "I think there are other seats available."

"Hey buddy, don't be so stingy. You ordered so much, one person can't finish it all."

The man's tone was very slick, which made people feel uncomfortable.

"You've taken care of the Dark Forest mage, but you've caused me a lot of trouble," the man continued, completely unconcerned about the stares of those around him.

"Were they the five guys I killed in the forest?"

The man, not expecting Wes to admit it so readily, let out a chilling laugh: "Heh heh, even though the Dark Forest is designated as a dark guild by the council, killing them like this, heh heh..."

"Are you threatening me?" Wes raised his head, his gaze fixed coldly on the man opposite him.

"That's terrifying," the man said, not backing down but with a hint of provocation, "Want to make a move here?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the other patrons in the restaurant began to cast strange glances at him. After all, this restaurant was located on the most bustling street in Harugeon, and the Magic Council had explicitly forbidden mages from taking action within the city.

Especially in a crowded place like this, a fight breaking out here might get Wes wanted by the council, but he's not the kind of person who can be manipulated.

Suddenly, the wooden chair seemed to come alive. Several thick branches extended from the legs of the table, tightly binding the man's limbs and tightening continuously, rendering him unable to move.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

The man clearly hadn't expected Wes to subdue him in front of everyone.

"Oh, oh, how audacious! They completely disregard the council, they're even more unscrupulous than the Dark Guild."

Wes ignored the man's shouts.

"You're too noisy."

A soft branch silently emerged from behind the man, circled around his head, and sealed his mouth tightly.

Wes then continued enjoying his meal as if nothing had happened. The commotion attracted the attention of other customers and servers, and a server cautiously approached to remind him, "Sir, please do not touch anything in the restaurant."

"Excuse me."

Wes put down his knife and fork, his attitude very gentle.

Seeing this, the waiter breathed a sigh of relief and quickly retreated.

After the waiter left, Wes planned to finish his meal before properly interrogating the mysterious uninvited guest.

However, the changes that occurred to the man surprised him somewhat—using some kind of magic, the branches binding the man gradually loosened and eventually disappeared completely, and the chair returned to its original state.

"Hey, could you please give me a set of cutlery?" the man gestured.

The waiter looked very embarrassed and glanced at Wes. Wes nodded, and only then did the waiter dare to step forward and hand over the cutlery before hurriedly leaving.

After finishing his meal, Weiss stood up, paid the bill, and left the restaurant, with the man following closely behind.
