Chapter 104 A New Journey

Asland, the Kingdom of Fiore.

Weiss suddenly appeared in a dense forest, surrounded by nothing but trees, making it impossible for him to determine his location.

"First, find a city and, while you're at it, gather some information about Fairy Tail to see where the story is at."

Then Wes took out his flying broom and soared into the air, trying to find any trace of the town from above. However, all he could see were endless forests, with no sign of human habitation.

"The location where they landed this time is way too remote."

Being unfamiliar with the area, he had no choice but to fly along the river, hoping to find some clues.

After more than three hours of flight, Wes finally saw smoke rising from chimneys, and a small village in the distance. He pressed down on his broom and landed in the central square of the village, immediately attracting the attention of the residents.

People looked at the stranger who had suddenly appeared with curiosity and wariness.

An elderly man with gray hair, leaning on a cane, slowly approached Wes and cautiously asked, "Sir Mage, may I ask what brings you here?"

"Hello, I'm lost. Could you tell me which direction the nearest city is?" Wes noticed the old man's nervousness and quickly reassured him, "I mean no harm, I just happened to be passing by."

The old man breathed a sigh of relief and pointed west: "If you follow this river, you'll reach Harujion, the closest city to our village."

Weiss noticed that the villagers around him were all holding weapons and were very wary.

He asked, "You seem very scared?"

The old man didn't hide anything: "The Magic Council has issued a warning that there are signs of a dark guild operating in the area recently, so we should be extra careful."

"I see," Wes said, sensing that the villagers were not welcoming of this mysterious figure. He took out a gold coin, flicked it with his thumb, and the coin landed steadily in the old man's hand. "This is the reward for pointing the way."

After saying that, Wes rode away from the village on his flying broomstick.

The old man rubbed the gold coins in his hand. "He doesn't seem like a bad person."

Weiss flew towards Harugion, gaining a preliminary understanding of the situation on this land.

Suddenly, he sensed a strong surge of magical energy coming from below. He made a sharp turn to dodge the oncoming flames, which hissed past his ear.

"Who's there?" Wes shouted, lowering his flying broomstick in preparation for a possible attack.

Wes looked down and saw five oddly dressed men with brightly colored hair, arms crossed, staring at him menacingly. One of the men, with a mohawk, yelled, "Hand over everything of value you have, or you'll regret it!" As he finished speaking, two balls of flame appeared from his hands.

It was this man with the rooster-like hair who launched the attack, trying to intercept Wes.

"Don't even think about running away. I'm skilled in flight magic; you can't escape." The man with the pompadour had a fierce expression on his face, very confident in his abilities.

These people are mages from the Dark Guild, what a coincidence!

[And why reveal your magic to the enemy?]

As Wes was pondering, the five men, thinking he was intimidated, smugly shouted, "Kid, now that you know how powerful we are, obediently come down here, and we might spare your life."

Weiss slowly descended from the sky and landed on the ground.

The man with the pompadour strode arrogantly toward Wes, a contemptuous smile on his face.

"What, are you too scared to speak? We..." Before the man with the pompadour could finish speaking, he was struck by a powerful force, sent flying backward, and crashed heavily into a thick tree trunk. His eyes rolled back and he passed out.

The people in this world seem to be more resilient; even if they directly withstand magic with their bare bodies, they only faint.

Although the protagonist's magic in the comics cannot kill people, Wes speculates that this may be related to the physical constitution here.

The other four were surprised to see their companion knocked unconscious, and they were astonished that Wes would dare to fight back.

They immediately assumed a fighting stance, ready to launch a joint attack.

"Damn it! Kill this guy!"

A magic circle appeared in front of one of the men with the rooster-like hair, from which flames shot out. The other three immediately followed suit, each unleashing different magical attacks.

"The magic's power is probably around level 3." Wes quickly made his assessment.

A sturdy earthen wall appeared before him, blocking the four attacks and obscuring their vision.

The earthen wall crumbled under the fierce attack, sending dust billowing everywhere. The four dark guild mages continued their relentless bombardment, but when the dust settled, they found no trace of Wes.

"Where is that kid?"

"Did they run away?"

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"That guy has a magic broom, did he escape from the sky?" The man with the pompadour looked up at the sky.

Just as they looked up to find Wes, he had already used Apparition to appear behind them and concealed his magic.

"Draw a net!"

A large net made of lightning enveloped the four of them.

When the four sensed the magical fluctuations behind them, it was too late. The electric grid blocked all their escape routes. They tried to fight back with magic, but Wes's magic power far exceeded theirs.

The electric grid tightly bound the four, and the powerful current instantly turned them black, leaving only their white teeth gleaming in the darkness. Even so, the four remained lively and energetic; the mages here not only possessed powerful magic but also exceptional physical abilities.

Aslant is rich in magic, and the mages here not only hone their magical skills but also their physical training. The physical abilities of the people here far surpass those of the wizards in the Harry Potter world.

It seems we'll have to take drastic measures.

Wes cast another spell, completely eliminating the group. He then searched their loot and found only a few coins and some worthless trinkets.

"Too poor." Wes tossed the coins aside with disdain, not bothering to dispose of the bodies; after all, the wild animals in the forest wouldn't let a free lunch slip by.

Shortly after Wes left, a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair, bangs, wearing a white top and a yellow belt appeared at the scene.

"The Dark Forest Five have been wiped out? This won't do; Leon still needs more manpower."

She carefully examined the traces of the battle and discovered some clues.

"The attacker used some kind of earth and lightning magic, and their actions were ruthless and decisive. It doesn't seem like the work of a mage from the Light Guild. Who could it be?"

Then a crystal ball floated beside her. "Let me see what just happened?"

The scene of the battle that had just occurred appeared in the crystal ball.

She saw a strange young man wielding a magic wand, casting a series of powerful spells that easily killed the five members of the Dark Forest.
