Chapter 11 The Mysterious Man in the Forbidden Forest

Chapter 11 The Mysterious Man in the Forbidden Forest

"Wes, are the students easy to get along with?"

Dumbledore smiled and offered the candy, but Wes waved his hand to indicate that he wasn't interested.

"Principal, please speak frankly. I'm very busy." Wes brushed his slightly messy hair aside.

"With three classes a week, you're one of the most relaxed professors."

Dumbledore continued.

Wes shrugged helplessly and said, "Alright, just let me know what you need."

Dumbledore then took out a transparent bottle from under the table, which contained some kind of bright silver liquid.

Wes knew at a glance what was inside, and it emitted a very attractive, soft light.

"This is!" Wes' eyes widened involuntarily as he gripped the bottle tightly, a fleeting glimpse of greed in his expression quickly concealed.

"This is unicorn blood." Dumbledore looked grave at this moment.

Wes reacted quickly, staring at Dumbledore in surprise and saying, "Is someone hunting unicorns in the Forbidden Forest?"

It is important to know that unicorns are extremely powerful, pure, and noble magical creatures with virtually no natural enemies in the wild.

The fact that such a bottle of rare unicorn blood could be collected indicates that someone deliberately carried out a cruel hunt in the Forbidden Forest.

"It's worse than that," Dumbledore frowned, putting the bottle back under the table, and Wes's reluctant gaze followed it.

"Someone trespassed into the Forbidden Forest and not only killed a unicorn, but also drank its blood."

"What a waste," Wes blurted out instinctively, but as soon as the words left his mouth, he felt Dumbledore's gaze sharpen, and he quickly corrected himself, "I meant it's outrageous."

Dumbledore rolled his eyes, then said seriously, "While unicorn blood has powerful healing properties, unicorns are said to be sacred creatures blessed by the gods. Cruelly killing a unicorn and drinking its blood will incur a terrible curse."

Wes nodded in agreement and said, "Even those evil dark wizards wouldn't easily do something so heinous unless they were already on their deathbed and had nowhere else to turn."

"That's right," Dumbledore said, taking off his glasses and wiping them carefully. "I need your help, Wes."

"Me?" Wes asked, looking puzzled.

"Yes, Wes," Dumbledore said with certainty.

"No problem, Headmaster. I am also a part of Hogwarts, and it is only right that I contribute to the school."

Weiss answered without hesitation.

"I'm glad you think that way, Wes. The Forbidden Forest is too big for Hagrid to patrol alone. I hope you can help him." Dumbledore looked at Wes expectantly.

"Hagrid is a good friend of mine, and I'm happy to be able to help him."

"Then I'll leave it to you. If you encounter any danger, be sure to send a signal, and I will arrive immediately," Dumbledore instructed.

"Don't underestimate me, Principal. These four years of experience have made me a qualified explorer."

Weiss stood up confidently and strode out of the principal's office.

For the next week, Wes and Hagrid patrolled the Forbidden Forest together, but nothing unusual happened during this time.

Hagrid remained vigilant, vowing through gritted teeth to catch the despicable criminal as a tribute to the fallen unicorn.

However, Weiss guessed that Hagrid's persistence might also be a way for him to vent his frustration over the Norwegian Spinosaurus Norber that had been sent away.

Norbert hatched from a dragon egg that Hagrid won from a mysterious gambler. Unfortunately, Draco reported him, and Norbert had to be sent away. Hagrid has been brooding over this ever since.

Tonight, Weiss arrived at Hagrid's cabin as usual and they agreed to take a look around together.

As the two were about to leave, they saw the school administrator, Filch, leading Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy slowly from the castle toward the cabin, constantly threatening the two children.

"Alright, Mr. Filch, please stop scaring these two little ones. They've had enough."

Weiss stopped Filch in time.

"Very well, Professor Erwin." But he added sarcastically at the end, "I hope you return safely from the Forbidden Forest."

Coupled with his gloating expression, it's hard to believe this was a sincere blessing.

Upon hearing the words "Forbidden Forest," Draco's face turned deathly pale, and he trembled uncontrollably.

"Don't worry, we'll go in together," Wes said softly, trying to reassure us.

"I know you. You're the new professor of runes." Draco cautiously approached Wes. "You must protect me. My father is on the board of trustees. I'll get him to promote you."

Wes couldn't help but laugh.

He doesn't dislike Draco.

In his view, Draco was just a spoiled child.

"Then I'll leave it to you, Mr. Malfoy," Wes said with a smile.

Draco proudly raised his chin and gave Harry a defiant look.

Harry ignored him.

The four then split into two groups and entered the forbidden forest from different directions.

The tall, dense trees completely blocked out the moonlight, making the forbidden forest appear even more eerie and terrifying.

With the faint light of the kerosene lamp in his hand, it was almost impossible to see the road ahead.

Draco clung tightly to Wes's robe, on the verge of tears.

"It was my oversight." Wes quickly took out a lantern, snapped his fingers lightly, and the light instantly spread, dispelling the surrounding darkness.

Draco finally let out a long breath.

Wes handed the lantern to Draco.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Draco frowned and said, "My father said only servants carry lanterns for others."

"I've put a protective charm on this lamp, so it's fine." Before Wes could finish speaking, Draco snatched the lamp from him, blushing as he explained, "You're the professor, and I'm the student. It's only natural for a student to carry a lamp for the professor."

"That's right, I would definitely give you extra points if this were in class, Mr. Malfoy," Wes said with a smile.

Next, Wes began to carefully inspect the area with Draco, and along the way, he casually pocketed any precious herbs he found.

Gradually, Draco became less nervous than he had been at the beginning.

He began to see this punishment as a special journey, gradually discovering the magical and wonderful side of the Forbidden Forest, where magical creatures he had never seen before could be found everywhere.

Just then, a mournful cry suddenly rang out.

Draco's heart skipped a beat, and he asked in a trembling voice, "What was that sound?"

Wes quickly drew his wand, his expression turning extremely serious: "Follow me, Mr. Malfoy."

After saying that, he jogged to the place where the sound came from.

Draco, with his short legs, tried his best to keep up.

Along the way, the tree roots, weeds, and small animals blocking their path seemed to sense their urgency and readily made way for them.

Weiss suddenly stopped in front of a large tree.

"Hide here."

Wes hid Draco behind a big tree before going out himself.

Driven by boundless curiosity, Draco couldn't resist peeking out.

He saw a pure white unicorn, radiating a holy light, lying helplessly on the ground, blood gushing from its neck.

A mysterious figure, shrouded in a black robe, was greedily drinking the blood of a unicorn.

Draco quickly covered his mouth with his hand, afraid that he would scream out loud.

Wes immediately rushed forward and waved his wand. Caught off guard, the mysterious man was instantly blasted away by the magic and crashed heavily into a tree trunk, where he lay motionless on the ground.

Wes remained cautious, keeping a safe distance, and continued to point his wand at the other person.

"Playing dead won't work, Mr. Poacher!"

Wes shouted at the mysterious figure on the ground.

"Thunderous explosion!"

Wes then unleashed a powerful spell.

At that moment, the mysterious man nimbly rolled over, and the ground he had just been standing on was instantly blasted into a huge crater.

The mysterious man quickly stood up and took out his magic wand.

The two remained standing face to face, some distance apart. The mysterious man was shrouded in a black robe, making his face completely obscured.

The two stood facing each other under the moonlight, wands in hand, a fierce battle about to erupt.
