Chapter 110 Deception (Please Subscribe)

Just as the attack was about to hit Wes, Wes used Apparition to dodge it.

The giant ape's fist smashed a deep crater in the ground, and although it didn't hit Wes, it forced him back.

The giant ape reached out and scooped Toby up, then jumped back to Leon's side.

Leon, meanwhile, cautiously searched for Wes's whereabouts.

"I mean no harm." A calm voice suddenly came from behind Leon, as Wes had somehow gotten behind him.

[How did he get behind me? He must have used spatial magic.]

Leon felt a sense of unease. Not only did his enemy possess black flames capable of suppressing his power, but they were also proficient in spatial magic. This meant that the initiative was entirely in the enemy's hands, while he was at a disadvantage.

Despite his confidence, Leon was not a reckless man. He knew he couldn't keep Wes by himself.

So he prepared to send a signal to summon his other companions for support.

However, because his movements were so obvious, Wes noticed them immediately.

To show his sincerity, Wes waved his hand lightly, and the fire tornadoes that had been surrounding him instantly vanished into nothingness.

This scene left both Leon and Toby with shocked expressions.

Faced with their doubts and wariness, Wes simply shrugged and gave a relaxed smile: "I told you, I meant no harm."

Leon stared intently at Wes, trying to glean any flaws from his words.

"Who exactly are you?" he asked again, warily.

"Just a curious magician," Wes replied casually.

Even though Wes had dispelled the spell and stated his purpose, the cautious Leon did not let his guard down.

He did not dispel the magical protection surrounding him, the two ice creatures.

A giant ice phoenix and a burly ice ape remained silently guarding his sides, ready to deal with any potential dangers.

Leon's eyes were still full of doubt as he looked at Wes; he still didn't believe Wes's story.

If Wes finds out that they've lifted Deliora's seal, the consequences will be unimaginable.

Wes seemed to see through his concerns, smiled slightly, and asked, "Are you Uru's disciple?"

Leon's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately retorted to Wes, "How did you know?"

"Only Ul, who sealed Deliora, possessed this level of ice-making magic. It is said that two boys followed her to train in magic, one of whom was Gray from Fairy Tail, and the other was you, wasn't it?"

Leon was surprised that Wes knew about this history and was momentarily lost in memories.

The warm yet challenging times he spent training with Uru flashed through his mind; Uru's kind smile and the countless days and nights he spent with Gray were all deeply cherished memories.

"Uru, Gray..." Hearing these two familiar names, Leon felt as if he had returned to that carefree era.

Wes noticed that Leon's eyes had softened considerably, and he began to fabricate a story: "It seems that the people whose homes were destroyed by Deliola back then have been searching for a way to completely destroy it. Although these people are very careful, I have still managed to find out some information."

"I don't want to miss something this interesting," Wes said with a mocking smile. "Uru, who possessed the strength of one of the Ten Wizard Saints, paid the ultimate price to seal away the rampaging Deliora. And these people actually want to kill this demon? Heh..."

Knowing what would happen next, Wes thought these people's plan was simply child's play.

The seal was broken using the Moon Drops, and then Leon was to fight Deliora one-on-one because Leon believed that his strength had surpassed that of Uru.

In response, Wes couldn't help but think to himself, "If you're sick, go see a doctor. Paranoia is a disease too."

Leon understood Wes's implied meaning and, burning with rage, clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white: "You bastard, don't underestimate me!"

At this moment, Leon was like a delusional teenager, slapping his chest and shouting, "My strength has surpassed Uru's! The demons Uru couldn't handle, I will!"

"That's right, woof!" Toby chimed in, "Leon is really something."

"Really?" Wes chimed in, "I don't believe it. After all, he couldn't even handle a nobody like me."

Toby whirled around and roared menacingly, "You bastard, I'll kill you!" His teeth were grinding together, as if he were about to pounce on Wes at any moment.

Leon remained surprisingly calm: "Indeed, I can't deal with you."

"Leon?" Toby looked at him in surprise, not expecting the proud Leon to say such a thing.

Leon changed the subject, his tone becoming serious: "Although I've never heard of you before, your strength is truly remarkable."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Wes shrugged, thinking to himself, "That's because you're too inexperienced."

"Your black flames are from a legendary lost magic, that's why they're so powerful," Leon analyzed earnestly, as if trying to convince himself and those around him.

"I see." Toby, a master of witty banter, never let Leon's words fall flat. He nodded. "That's right, this kind of power is indeed very rare."

Wes's eyes flickered slightly. His strength was enough to attract the attention of these people, but he didn't want to explain the underlying principles too much.

"You don't seem to be a mage from the Guild of Light," Leon asked tentatively.

"I'm not a member of any guild, nor am I a member of the Magic Council," Wes emphasized again. "I'm just an ordinary mage who's obsessed with magic."

"Really?" Leon asked, still somewhat skeptical.

He scrutinized Wes again, but Wes's gaze remained calm and composed, revealing no flaws whatsoever.

Wes suddenly proposed a solution: "You can't do anything to me, and you're unwilling to let me leave and reveal the secrets of this place. How about I join you?"

Toby was the first to object, "Are you kidding me?! Who wants to take in a guy of unknown origin?!"

"You've all seen my capabilities. With my help, your plans will proceed smoothly."

Leon remained silent for a moment, weighing the pros and cons in his mind.

Wes's strength should not be underestimated. If they could gain such a powerful ally, it would undoubtedly be of great help to their plans.

On the other hand, he was also aware that the stranger's motives were unclear, and accepting the offer rashly might bring unpredictable risks.

"Even without you, our plan will succeed." Leon finally spoke after a moment of contemplation, but he could also clearly feel the wavering in his heart.

"Will it really go smoothly? I heard that the residents here have already issued a commission to Fairy Tail, with a rank of S."
