Chapter 128 The Invitation from the Devil's Heart
"Restored to its original state"
With a wave of his hand, a gentle yet powerful magical wave emanated from his hand, enveloping the entire room.
As this power flowed, the items that had been cracked by Hades' magic were restored one by one, as if time had reversed and everything had returned to its original state.
"The Arc of Time!" Ultear exclaimed in surprise upon seeing this, almost believing that the legendary "Arc of Time" had reappeared in the world.
"No, it is not the 'Arc of Time'."
Hades' voice interrupted her exclamation, "This is another kind of magic, a power I've never seen before." He stroked his long beard, a rare look of interest on his face.
"If you're willing, I can exchange this magic for the 'Arc of Time'."
Wes looked Hades straight in the eye and made a suggestion.
Hades simply shook his head slightly, showing little interest in the suggestion.
His primary objective now is to find Jelf; everything else is not part of his plan.
"If you'd like to join our guild," Ultear said on Hades' behalf, while keeping an eye on Wes's reaction.
"Your guild??" Wes feigned surprise, as if he had anticipated this sudden invitation.
"The Dark Guild—Demon Heart," Ultear proudly announced. "Our goal is not only to dominate the continent, but also to pursue ultimate power."
"You've been targeted by the Magic Council. Unless you join a powerful organization, you may not be able to escape their pursuit."
Urudia tried her best to persuade Wes.
Faced with Ultear's persuasion, Wes didn't hold back in expressing his opinion on the Magic Council's wanted poster: "The Magic Council? Let them catch me first."
Although Wes said he didn't care, the idea of using the demon's heart as a stepping stone was quietly growing in his mind.
Joining Devil Heart means having the opportunity to step onto the mysterious and unpredictable Tenrou Island, and even to see the legendary "Black Dragon" Acnologia and Zeref, the most powerful and evil mage in history.
Joining the Demon Guild might be a good option right now.
Weiss pondered for a moment, weighing the current situation against his personal interests.
[And even Hades himself has come; he must be determined to get me.]
After careful consideration, Wes finally accepted the guild's invitation to join.
"In that case, I am willing to join the Devil's Heart."
"Ha~ha~" Hades laughed heartily, "Welcome to the team."
With the addition of a powerful mage whose strength rivals that of the "Ten Wizard Saints," Hades' plans and long-cherished wish will surely be fulfilled smoothly.
"I want all the guild's magical data to be freely accessible," Wes stated his request. There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world.
Hades smiled even more broadly upon hearing this and generously replied, "These are not problems. As long as you can contribute to the guild, all resources are at your disposal."
Hades then laid out his conditions: "However, newcomers always need to prove their worth. I hope you can quickly establish merit for the guild."
"Please wait and see."
Weiss believed it was a fair deal.
Ultear poured fresh tea for the two of them and said softly, "The R system is nearing completion, and perhaps Wes can contribute to it."
"I have no objection."
Both sides have formally reached a consensus.
After Wes left, a look of worry appeared on Ultear's face. She turned to Hades and said, "President, I can't see through Wes. I'm afraid he's not really interested in joining us."
Hades smiled slightly after hearing this, "Of course, he's not the kind of person who'd willingly submit to anyone. However, he can't cause any trouble in my hands."
Ultear was relieved to hear Hades say that: "That's right, with the guild leader here, everything is fine. The guild leader is the strongest."
The next morning, Ultear brought Wes to the seaside. There, a luxurious little boat powered by magic crystals sat quietly, attracting much attention.
This ship is not only exquisite on the outside, but its interior is also a hidden gem, almost like a private little cabin.
"Operating this ship is very simple; you only need to sense it with your mental power," Ultear explained to Wes. "Of course, the ship is also equipped with a state-of-the-art automatic navigation mode."
Wes's gaze swept over the various buttons and indicator lights on the control panel.
As Urtia started the boat, the small vessel smoothly sailed away from the coast and headed towards the unknown sea.
After a day and a night of sailing, the small boat finally docked in a remote place.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Ultear looked at Wes's expression and smiled slightly: "This is our destination, the Dark Tower. The final test of the R System will take place here."
The sight before Wes was that towering, pitch-black Dark Tower that pierced the clouds, standing on the distant sea, a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Looking at the Dark Tower before him, Wes couldn't help but exclaim, "It's truly magnificent! I wonder how much manpower and resources it must have taken to build such a tower on the sea."
Upon hearing this, Urudia smiled smugly: "It's nothing more than using someone else's resources to achieve your own goals."
The Tower of Paradise was mostly built thanks to her.
Not only that, she even bewitched and brainwashed the youngest of the "Ten Wizards," Zekrein, also known as Jekal, turning him into her puppet.
This is undoubtedly her proudest achievement to date.
As the small boat slowly approached the shore, Urudia stepped off the boat, put on a purple cloak, and wrapped herself up completely.
"Never give up your status as a member of the Magic Council. Call me Grand Master here," Ultear reminded Wes.
"I know, Miss Chameleon," Wes teased. He was somewhat moved by Ultear's multiple identities, so he gave her this rather unseemly nickname.
"You bastard, don't give me nicknames!" Ultear clearly didn't like the nickname.
Wes simply shrugged indifferently.
"Grand Mentor".
"Grand Mentor".
The guards along the way greeted Ultear respectfully, which showed that Ultear held a high status here, and no one questioned her bringing in a stranger like Wes.
The two reached the top floor of the tower without any hindrance.
Before pushing open the door to the top floor, Ultear turned to Wes and whispered, "Remember, don't say much. Leave everything to me."
The door opened, revealing a young man sitting on a high throne.
