Chapter 148: Marvel
Chapter 148 Back to Marvel
"I didn't expect I couldn't even withstand a single blow," Wes muttered to himself, his eyes filled with shock.
He had always known that the black dragon, Acnologia, was strong, but he never imagined that it was so strong that it was utterly despairing.
That terrifying power seemed capable of destroying everything in the world, making people feel incredibly small and powerless in its presence.
"A real monster indeed. I wonder how earth-shattering Zeref's attack will be."
Wes's eyes revealed a deep longing; he yearned to possess such power.
Just as the black dragon's roar was about to strike Sirius Island, the entire island suddenly shimmered with golden light.
Wes immediately realized that it was Mavis who had made the move.
She appeared as a ghost and, combining Natsu Dragneel's and their beliefs and magic, unleashed the absolute defense magic "Fairy Sphere" to protect all the guild members on the island.
Wes knew he was Fairy Tail's enemy, that the magic wouldn't protect him, and that he had no desire to spend seven years at the bottom of the sea.
So, at the last moment, he decisively traveled back to the Marvel universe.
Back at his potion shop, even after some time away, the room remained spotless thanks to the magic.
The familiar layout and atmosphere gave him a sense of peace.
"Gurgle~ gurgle~" Wes' stomach suddenly started growling, and he realized that he hadn't eaten anything for half a day.
After several fierce battles, he was already starving.
He pushed open the door, and the lively sounds outside immediately rushed in.
The moment the door opened, the Muggle Expulsion Charm that Wes had cast automatically deactivated.
The passersby did not notice the small shop that had suddenly appeared on the street; they continued on their way in a hurry.
Only a few observant people noticed the appearance of this little shop.
"Target spotted."
"Keep an eye on them."
Those agents who thought they were well hidden were unaware that they had already been completely exposed to Wes's eyes.
Wes simply couldn't be bothered to expose them.
Wes strolled leisurely down the street, looking for a restaurant that suited his taste.
He moved unhurriedly through the crowd, and the agents who had been secretly following him did not follow him into the restaurant.
They also understood that in such public places, overt stalking would only cause unnecessary trouble.
Wes found a quiet corner in the restaurant and sat down, patiently waiting for his food to be served.
The restaurant is filled with a warm atmosphere, and soft lighting shines on the tables, making people feel exceptionally comfortable.
Just then, a deafening roar suddenly came from the sky, the sound like rolling thunder, instantly shattering the tranquility of the city.
Immediately afterwards, there was a loud "bang," as if a huge metal object had landed.
"Oh my god, it's Iron Man!"
Someone in the crowd shouted, their voice filled with surprise and excitement.
Instantly, everyone's attention was drawn to the metallic figure.
The armor, gleaming with a metallic sheen, shone brightly in the sunlight.
Tony greeted the crowd with a flamboyant manner, his confident smile and dashing movements driving them wild.
Tony walked straight to the table where Wes was, his figure drawing attention in the restaurant.
When the people dining in the restaurant saw him, they excitedly took out their phones to take pictures.
Wearing his armor, Tony struck a few cool poses, looking as if he were walking a fashion show.
"Alright everyone, we need to consider the feelings of the other guests. As compensation for disturbing your meal, I'll be paying for everything today."
Tony's voice was magnetic and confident.
His generosity was met with cheers, and people were impressed by the superhero's magnanimity and demeanor.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was instantly ignited, and everyone's face was filled with excitement and joy.
Tony plopped down opposite Wes with a nonchalant air, a mixture of curiosity and amusement on his face.
"I didn't expect the mysterious magician to be so young. I thought there would be an old man with white hair under the mask."
His words carried a hint of surprise and mockery.
"If you're interested in white-haired old men, I can introduce you to a 110-year-old wizard. I think he'll like you since you're so witty," Wes replied unhurriedly.
Upon hearing this, Tony got goosebumps all over and said in astonishment, "You wizards do this too?"
Wes just stared at Tony quietly without saying a word.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
That look seemed to see right through him, making Tony feel uneasy.
"Alright." Tony gave a French military salute with a sigh. "I came here to thank you. The medicine you gave me bought me a lot of time. However, I've been having nightmares for a month straight. Do you have any more? I'm willing to pay a high price for them."
Tony was filled with anticipation; he believed that no one in the world could refuse the terms he offered.
Wes shook his head.
"Or you can sell me the formula..." Tony persisted, still trying to find an answer.
"I bet you'll never want to know what the raw materials for the potion are."
Weiss's tone was calm, yet carried a hint of mystery.
"More serious than palladium poisoning?" Tony frowned.
"A hundred times worse." Wes's answer sent a jolt through Tony.
If Tony knew what the ingredients in the drug he was taking were, he would live with guilt for the rest of his life.
"Okay." Tony shrugged, giving up on pressing the issue. "I said I'd repay you after I recovered. What do you want?"
Tony was very confident that he could satisfy Wes in any way, whether it was money, women, status, or anything else.
In his view, there is nothing in this world that he cannot do.
"I don't need anything, or rather, you can't give me what I need," Wes replied succinctly and decisively.
"What??" Tony was completely bewildered, his face filled with disbelief.
Is there anything in this world that he can't give?
This is questioning his abilities.
Wes didn't want to continue talking to this arrogant man. At that moment, the waitress served Wes his meal, but her attention was entirely on Tony.
Tony smiled, and the waitress looked like a lovesick fool.
Weiss, meanwhile, focused on enjoying his lunch.
"Alright, if you run into trouble, you know where to find me." Tony, clad in his armor, smugly walked away.
He's a very busy man now and doesn't have much time to waste on one person.
Wes continued to enjoy his lunch without looking up, completely ignoring the stares that were focused on him.
All eyes were fixed on him, their gazes filled with curiosity and speculation.
