Chapter 149 Special Agent

They all secretly wondered what the identity of this seemingly ordinary young man was.

Why would Iron Man, who holds a pivotal position in the United States, make a special trip to find him?

Various questions swirled in people's minds, but Wes seemed to be in an independent world, completely ignoring these curious glances.

After lunch, Weiss calmly walked out of the restaurant.

As soon as he stepped outside, a black SUV came to a smooth stop in front of him.

Coulson, whose hair was becoming increasingly thin, stepped slowly out of the car with a kind smile on his face.

"Mr. Irwin, it's been a long time." Coulson's voice was gentle and steady.

Wess was not surprised at all; he had already sensed Coulson's presence with his keen perception.

"You guys really are everywhere," Wes said with a hint of sarcasm.

To the astonishment of Coulson and the agents, Wes got into the car.

"Let's go, take me to see your boss."

His tone was calm yet decisive.

"Yes, Mr. Irwin." Coulson immediately directed everyone to get into the car and set off.

With a roar of the engine, the vehicle sped away, leaving behind a crowd of curious glances and murmuring voices.

The convoy moved smoothly through the streets, its wheels rolling.

Finally, they arrived in the bustling heart of New York City.

The towering buildings and bustling traffic here give people a sense of the city's vitality and vibrancy.

The convoy slowly drove into the Sherafis Building, a magnificent structure that exuded modernity and majesty under the sunlight.

"Most people wouldn't expect a secret organization to set up its base in such a bustling and conspicuous place."

Coulson proudly stated, "This is one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s largest bases."

Upon entering the underground parking garage, one can see heavily armed patrol personnel everywhere.

They looked serious, their eyes were alert, and they remained on high alert at all times.

"The defense level here is the highest. This building can withstand a magnitude 10 earthquake, and it also has air-raid shelters that can withstand nuclear attacks."

Coulson gave a detailed account of the defensive facilities, his tone full of confidence.

The car was parked next to an elevator.

"Coulson, long time no see." A bearded, model-like man in full armor walked over with a group of people.

His steps were firm and powerful, and he exuded a fierce aura.

"Crossbones? What are you doing here?"

Coulson looked surprised; he didn't recall Crossbones' name being on today's patrol roster.

"Oh, Locke has an urgent mission. The boss asked me to cover for him for a while. My hard-earned vacation is ruined."

Crossbones complained, a hint of helplessness on his face.

Coulson patted him on the shoulder understandingly, his eyes filled with sympathy.

Crossbones looked at Wes: "And who is this?"

"Guest," Coulson replied briefly, without revealing Wes's identity.

"Understood." Crossbones nodded knowingly. "It needs to be checked according to procedure."

"Crossbones..." Coulson tried to stop him.

"Coulson, you know, rules are rules."

Crossbones spoke firmly, and the two burly men behind him immediately stepped forward to search Wes.

Wes glanced at them.

Instantly, the two of them froze in place, unable to even blink.

"What are you doing?"

Crossbones urged.

However, when he found himself unable to move, standing there like a statue, he was filled with shock.

Wes walked into the elevator expressionlessly and gestured to Coulson to let him in.

Coulson hurriedly stepped into the elevator, his heart filled with awe of Wes's mysterious power.

The elevator doors slowly closed, leaving behind a group of people who stood like statues.

"Mr. Erwin, they meant no harm, it's just the procedure."

Coulson quickly explained, his tone tinged with apology.

"I know whether there's any malice or not," Wes replied calmly, then closed his eyes and ignored Coulson.

Seeing this, Coulson didn't offer any further explanation, knowing that saying anything more at this point would be pointless.

"Ding!!" The elevator arrived at the top floor.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Coulson led the way. This floor was unusually quiet, deserted, and so empty that it made one wonder if it was some kind of shell company.

However, Wes was able to discover that this floor was actually full of traps.

With such powerful firepower, even a well-trained Navy SEAL team wouldn't be able to break in.

Coulson opened a door and stood respectfully to one side.

After Wes went inside, he gently closed the door.

Inside the room, Nick Fury, dressed in a black leather jacket, stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the bustling city of New York.

Wes ignored the mysterious Nick Fury and sat down on the sofa, taking out a book.

For a moment, no one spoke; the only sound in the large room was the rustling of Wes turning the pages of his book.

Ten minutes passed, and the room remained silent.

Half an hour later, Nick Fury finally broke the silence.

"Did you know? You're not the only one in this world who's special."

Whether he'd had enough of the scenery or simply couldn't keep up the act any longer, Nick Fury spoke up, saying, "This world is vast, and there are people more powerful than you..."

"You mean the gods of Asgard in Norse mythology, the Skrulls and Kree in the universe?" Wes replied without looking up.

Nick Fury's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets: "How did you know? Did you hack into our intelligence system?"

This king of spies thought he could intimidate Wes and gain the upper hand in the conversation, but he never expected that his true colors would be exposed.

"These are just common sense things; only you would consider them secrets." Wes's words were full of sarcasm.

He slightly raised his chin, a hint of disdain in his eyes.

"It's like a beggar holding onto a piece of bread and thinking it's the most delicious food in the world."

His metaphors were sharp and direct, ruthlessly revealing S.H.I.E.L.D.'s narrow-mindedness in its understanding of information.

Fortunately, Nick Fury's skin was dark enough, otherwise Wes would have witnessed his incredible face-changing technique, going from black to red and back to black.

In that instant, Nick Fury may have been filled with shock and anger, but his resolute face remained calm.

"Are you an alien?" Nick Fury stared intently at Wes, trying to find the answer in his expression.

"Think what you will. I'm here today for only one purpose." Wes put away his book with a swift and decisive movement.

"I don't like being surrounded by flies 24 hours a day; it's annoying." Wes' tone was firm and left no room for negotiation.

"Withdraw your people, or you'll never see them again."

"Are you threatening me?" Nick Fury's voice was deep and authoritative, carrying an unquestionable air.
