Chapter 167 Superheroes

"Fire Spell".

Wes's clone chanted a spell.

Instantly, raging flames erupted like a surging wave, the scorching tongues of fire resembling a roaring fire dragon, baring its fangs and claws as it lunged at the special operations team.

Wherever the flames passed, the air seemed to be scorched and distorted, emitting a sizzling sound.

The fierce flames were firmly blocked by the special forces team's energy shield.

The energy shield shimmered with blue light, like an indestructible shield, stubbornly resisting the frenzied onslaught of flames.

The light on the energy shield flickered, as if it were engaged in a fierce battle with the flames. Each impact of the flames caused the energy shield to tremble slightly, but it was never breached.

The 18-person team advanced steadily, their steps firm and composed, as if nothing could stop them.

They were only ten meters away from Wes's clone, at which point their firepower became even more ferocious.

The energy gun continuously sprayed out powerful energy bullets, raining down on Wes's clone like a storm.

"Boring," Wes said, looking at the special forces soldiers.

He could tell at a glance that these squad members had not undergone physical modifications; in the eyes of ordinary people, they were all elite soldiers, one in a million.

They possess exceptional combat skills and unwavering willpower. Coupled with advanced weaponry, they can indeed change the course of a war on the battlefield and are a key force in determining victory or defeat.

However, their current target is Wes, which has sealed their fate.

The lawn, which had gone unnoticed, began to grow wildly. The originally short grass grew at an astonishing rate, reaching the height of a person in no time.

Like giant green pythons, they quickly coiled around the special forces soldiers' ankles and wrists.

The special forces soldiers reacted quickly, and sharp blades immediately popped out from their exoskeleton armor, cutting the grass into small pieces.

Grass clippings were scattered everywhere, like green snowflakes.

Then, something unexpected happened to S.H.I.E.L.D.: the grass clippings exploded.

The explosion was incredibly powerful, like countless small bombs detonating simultaneously.

Not only were special forces soldiers engulfed by the blast wave, but also the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. convoy and agents were within the blast radius.

The armored vehicle was overturned by the powerful impact, making a heavy thud.

A large number of agents were killed or seriously injured in the explosion; their screams and shouts mingled together, creating a horrific scene.

The special operations team activated their protective shields at maximum power, barely managing to withstand the impact of the explosion.

However, they also ran out of energy, and their shields became dim and lifeless.

A massive hand, a mixture of dirt, cement, and car wreckage, suddenly emerged from the ground. The hand was enormous, like the hand of a demon from hell.

It crushed the 18 team members in the palm of its hand with astonishing speed, as if they were nothing more than insignificant ants.

"Stop, Wes!!" Nick Fury shouted angrily.

His forehead was cut by shrapnel from the explosion, drawing blood, and he was limping on one leg.

He was very lucky and only suffered minor injuries in the explosion.

"These people are all innocent." Nick Fury's voice was filled with anger and helplessness.

"Innocent??" The clone scoffed, its laughter laced with mockery. "You mean these agents with blood on their hands are innocent?"

The clone's eyes revealed a coldness and disdain.

"They were all doing this for..." Nick Fury wanted to explain something, but before he could finish, he was interrupted by his clone.

It's just another set of high-sounding rhetoric.

Not to mention that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been infiltrated by Hydra and has committed numerous atrocities.

Even without infiltration, S.H.I.E.L.D. is not clean under the direction of the US government.

S.H.I.E.L.D. claims to be an international organization, but its top leadership and key members are all Americans.

From its inception, S.H.I.E.L.D. has served the United States, albeit under the guise of the UN Security Council.

The large hand clenched tightly, then released, and the 18 special forces soldiers instantly turned into a puddle of mud, their blood slowly flowing onto the ground.

Nick Fury's eyes were bloodshot, filled with anger and grief.

"Fire!!" he shouted frantically.

The last remaining fighter jet in the sky began to unleash its firepower, with bullets and shells raining down on Wes's clone.

However, the bullets and shells were deflected back by Wes. The fighter jet was hit by the rebounding fire, instantly lost control, and crashed into a nearby villa, where it exploded.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. forces were completely wiped out by this series of attacks, leaving the scene in ruins, with only raging flames and billowing smoke remaining.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"Is this the confidence you have to attack me?" Wes tilted his head slightly, a hint of mockery in his eyes, staring intently at Pierce.

His tone was full of disdain, as if he were looking at a clown who overestimated himself.

"Show me what other tricks you have up your sleeve. Oh, and I forgot your mouth is gagged." Wes's words were relaxed and casual, yet carried an undeniable air of authority.

He completely disregarded Pierce, treating the conflict as a game.

Wes waved his hand gently, releasing the spell placed on Pierce's mouth.

However, Pierce remained silent.

His heart was filled with contradictions and entanglements. He did indeed have a backup plan; Hydra had cultivated more than just this one team.

However, seeing how easily Wes dealt with this elite force, Pierce knew that even if he gathered all the troops together, it wouldn't make any difference.

Wes is no ordinary opponent. Can ants really kill an elephant, no matter how many there are?

No wonder Nick Fury was so eager to form the Avengers; monsters should be fought with monsters.

Pierce pondered to himself.

He began to understand Nick Fury's thinking: ordinary power was simply no match for a being as powerful as Wes.

Only superheroes with special abilities could potentially become a force to oppose Wes.

"Let me go, and we'll never lay a hand on you again," Pierce finally said.

"Ha~" Wes didn't understand where Pierce got the courage to say that.

His laughter was full of sarcasm.

"You're the superhero who saved New York, you don't want to..." Pierce tried to use moral blackmail to get Wes to let him go, but before he could finish speaking, Wes interrupted him.

"Pfft!" Wes burst out laughing, his laughter echoing through the study. "What made you think I'm a superhero?"

Wes's eyes were full of disdain.

He never considered himself a superhero, nor did he feel obligated to save the world.

He simply acts in his own way, without being bound by anyone else.
