Chapter 168 Curse

Nick Fury's eyes were bloodshot, and his clenched fists trembled slightly as he wished he could tear Wes to pieces immediately.

The subordinates he brought were all elite agents carefully trained by S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Every agent has undergone rigorous training and brutal selection to stand out.

They should have continued to play an important role in maintaining world peace.

But now that they have all perished, this is undoubtedly a devastating blow to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Moreover, this is Washington, D.C., the capital and political center of the United States, home to the nation's core power institutions and countless important figures.

Such a serious incident occurring here will have an impact like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, triggering a series of unpredictable chain reactions.

The consequences would be so severe that they were unimaginable, and Nick Fury was well aware of the immense pressure he was about to face.

At the same time, Wes and his clone slowly raised their heads.

"They're here."

A suit of steel armor, predominantly red and gold, streaked across the dark night sky like a dazzling meteor, hurtling in with a blinding light.

A fighter jet followed closely behind, arriving at the scene in the blink of an eye.

"Bang!" The steel armor descended from the sky, landing on one knee. The powerful impact caused the ground to tremble slightly, raising a cloud of dust.

Steve, Natasha, and Hawkeye landed on the lawn.

The surviving agents lay on the ground, groaning in pain; their cries echoed through the air.

The voice was filled with pain, fear, and helplessness, which made one's heart ache.

The smell of gunpowder permeated the air, pungent and strong. Thick smoke, like the tentacles of a demon, rose slowly, obscuring the sky.

The cratered ground, overturned armored vehicles, and shattered buildings make this place look like a battlefield somewhere in the Middle East.

"Wes, we need to talk!" Steve's firm and loud voice rang out.

"Sir, what's in front of you isn't the wizard himself, but an avatar of an energy aggregate."

Jarvis's calm voice came through the communication system.

Wes wasn't surprised by the arrival of the Avengers; when things escalate, someone has to clean up the mess.

Without him making any move, Pierce's body floated up uncontrollably, like a light feather, following behind Wes.

This feeling of being completely out of control of his body left Pierce, a normally powerful and influential man, feeling incredibly frustrated yet helpless, and he could only curse inwardly.

Wes, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease, walking leisurely onto the lawn.

The clone slowly approached him, and as the distance closed, the clone merged naturally and smoothly with Wes's main body, just like water flowing into the sea.

Steve Wes appeared and hurriedly said, "Wes, release Pierce. Things haven't gotten to the point of no return yet."

His tone was filled with worry and urgency; he knew that if the situation got out of control, it would have unimaginable consequences.

"The fact that S.H.I.E.L.D. has issued a bounty means they are ready to go to war." Wes's voice echoed in the air.

His eyes were sharp as swords, fixed intently on Nick Fury and the others.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. is undoubtedly declaring war on me, and they should know what that means."

Weiss's words conveyed a strong sense of oppression.

"Nonsense, S.H.I.E.L.D. has not put a bounty on you," Nick Fury quickly retorted. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has absolutely not issued any bounty for you, I'm certain of that. It's impossible for S.H.I.E.L.D. not to have three hundred million dollars out of its hands."

Nick Fury’s tone was firm and unwavering.

"So, this person isn't with S.H.I.E.L.D." Wes narrowed his eyes slightly, a mocking smile playing on his lips.

"Pierce is indeed a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. He couldn't and didn't have the authority to use such a large sum of money. Someone must have framed him."

Nick Fury firmly believes that everything in S.H.I.E.L.D. is under his control.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. has strict management systems and oversight mechanisms, so such a situation is impossible."

"Idiot," Wes scoffed, his voice filled with disdain.

Wes plunged his wand straight into Pierce's head, but not a drop of blood came out, a scene that was incredibly eerie.

"Ah~~" Pierce's eyes rolled back as he wailed incessantly.

Wes slowly turned the wand, and Pierce convulsed, enduring immense pain.

A silver-white, transparent thread was pulled from Pierce's head.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

With a flick of his wand, Wes sent the silk threads flying into the air and exploding like fireworks.

Instantly, a scene appeared in mid-air—a memory of Pierce instructing his men to issue bounties.

The picture was incredibly clear, even clearer than 4K quality, and you could see every pore on Pierce's face.

Nick Fury's first reaction was that the memory was fabricated by Wes. However, when he looked closely at the scene, he noticed the familiar office decor in the background and some of Pierce's subtle movements, which would not be known to someone unfamiliar with the scene.

Faced with irrefutable evidence, the men were speechless, and their faces turned extremely grim.

Steve frowned slightly.

Tony had already cursed out, "Damn it! It's S.H.I.E.L.D.'s doing this again. Are we your toilet paper to wipe your ass?"

Nick Fury had no idea about this, but he knew he absolutely could not admit it:

"Who knows if this memory is fabricated by you? It can't be used as evidence."

However, his words seemed so pale and powerless in the face of such irrefutable evidence.

Thick-skinned people can stop bullets. Wes wasn't going to argue with Nick Fury. He simply stared coldly at Fury, his eyes filled with mockery. Wes knew arguing with Fury was pointless; he would only offer excuses and reasons to shirk responsibility. Wes decided to solve the problem his own way.

A black mist emerged from Wes's wand, and as if it were alive, it slowly seeped into Pierce's nostrils and ears.

Pierce stared in horror at the scene, trying to struggle but finding himself completely immobilized. "What did you do to me?"

Pierce's voice was filled with fear and unease.

He felt unbearably itchy all over, as if countless ants were crawling on his body.

Pierce kept rubbing against the lawn, trying to relieve the pain, but to no avail.

"This curse won't kill you; it's just a minor curse."

Wes's thumb and forefinger touched together.

"This curse won't cause you pain, it will only make you itchy."
