Chapter 169 Kingpin's Invitation

Wes slowly walked up to Pierce and then stomped heavily on Pierce's chest.

Pierce's body trembled slightly, and a pained expression appeared on his face.

"The itching lasts 24 hours a day, and it gets worse every other day. I wonder how long you can endure it?"

Wes's voice was cold and ruthless.

Pierce felt a chill run down his spine; he could imagine the endless suffering he would face in the future.

"Do you think you can beat 'Braised Egg' like this?" Wes whispered, his voice so low that only Pierce could hear him. "Struggle as much as you want."

Wes's lips curled up slightly, revealing a mocking smile.

Then, Wes kicked Pierce to Steve's feet as if he were discarding a worthless object.

"Here's his back to you." Wes said, and then his figure vanished instantly.

Nick Fury quickly helped Pierce up; his face was terribly grim.

"I need an explanation," Nick Fury said, his voice filled with anger and accusation.

"Of course," Pierce replied, his voice trembling slightly as he tried to suppress the itch. "But I need to have surgery first."

Pierce knew that with current surgical techniques, he could sever some nerves, causing his skin to lose sensation and thus temporarily relieving the pain of his itching.

Nick Fury looked him straight in the eye, his gaze filled with suspicion and scrutiny.

Pierce did not flinch and met his gaze.

At this moment, he cannot show any weakness, otherwise Nick Fury will relentlessly pursue him.

Pierce knew he had to remain calm in order to deal with the crisis at hand.

"A den of snakes and rats." Tony left with this sarcastic remark before flying away in his armor.

He was extremely disappointed with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s actions and did not want to get involved in the chaos anymore.

Steve sighed; he knew he couldn't just walk away like Tony had.

He decided to stay and clean up the mess.

The next morning, news reports covered an explosion caused by the improper use of natural gas by a Washington official.

This explanation is obviously far-fetched and can only fool honest people.

Anyone with a modicum of common sense wouldn't believe this nonsense.

Some organizations have even deduced from the traces left by the two battles last night that Wes is the mysterious wizard from the Battle of New York and the owner of the "Potential Potion Shop at Hogwarts".

The news spread quickly, and countless organizations and individuals wanted to find Wes.

Some of them wanted to control him and use his power to achieve their own ambitions;

Some wanted to trade with him to obtain valuable magical items;

Some simply pursue the power of magic, yearning to explore this mysterious realm.

However, many people know that he is not someone to be trifled with and have put him on the list of people not to be messed with.

When the news came that Wes's bounty had been withdrawn, Wes didn't take it too seriously.

However, he never expected that as soon as he returned to New York, someone would come looking for him so eagerly.

The person who arrived was quite unexpected for Wes; it was Kingpin.

Kingpin's towering height of two meters and weight of 204 kilograms gave him a massive and imposing presence, creating a strong sense of intimidation.

Even in a white suit and tie, the sharp suit taut over his massive frame couldn't conceal the powerful aura he exuded, creating a visually striking and intimidating presence.

This image is quite different from the traditional image of a businessman.

His imposing physique, sharp eyes, and domineering presence perfectly suited his identity as a tyrant of the New York underworld.

"Hello, Mr. Irwin." Kingpin's voice was deep and resonant. He bowed very humbly, his expensive suit stretching even tighter with his movements, as if it might burst at any moment from his strong muscles.

"Kingpin?" Wes frowned slightly, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

He really didn't understand why Kingpin would come knocking on his door at this time.

Doesn't he know that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the US government want nothing more than to kill him?

During such a sensitive period, engaging in self-reflection is undoubtedly an extremely dangerous thing.

"I have a business deal I'd like to discuss with you," Kingpin stated his purpose directly.

"Want some potions?" Wes refused without hesitation. "I'm not short of money right now."

"Of course not." Kingpin quickly waved his hand in denial. He personally opened the back door of the car, turned slightly to the side, and gestured for them to leave. "This is not the place to talk."

Wes raised an eyebrow, looking at Kingpin's sincere face, and secretly wondered what his purpose was.

A moment later, Wes sat in the back seat.

It was clear that Kingpin breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Wes get into the car.

Kim then got into the driver's seat and drove the car himself.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

This vehicle was clearly specially modified; otherwise, given Kingpin's massive size, he would probably be riding on the steering wheel.

The car drove smoothly through the streets of New York in silence.

Finally, we arrived at the Fisk Building.

This is one of Kingpin's strongholds, where he managed his criminal organization, planned criminal activities, and conducted transactions and negotiations with other criminals or forces.

After taking the elevator to his office on the top floor, Jin dismissed all his subordinates. "No one is to disturb me without my permission."

Kingpin's voice was serious and authoritative.

At this moment, only Wes and Kingpin remained in the office.

The silent space seemed to be shrouded in an invisible atmosphere of tension.

Sunlight streamed in through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, but it couldn't dispel the oppressive atmosphere.

Wes sat there quietly, scrutinizing Kingpin across from him.

Kingpin straightened his massive frame, leaning slightly against the desk, his eyes deep and complex, as if he were considering what to say next.

"Mr. Erwin, have you ever heard of 'Dragonbone'?"

Kingpin cut straight to the point; his deep, powerful voice echoed in the quiet office.

"You mean the dragon bones on Kunlun Mountain??" Wes narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Mr. Erwin is indeed learned," Kingpin laughed, but the laugh was chilling and could frighten children.

"But the keel isn't in Kunlun, it's in New York, right in Manhattan."

Wes became interested. He leaned forward slightly, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Tell me what happened."

Jin took a slow, deliberate puff of his cigar, then slowly exhaled a ring of smoke.

Smoke rose into the air.

"This story goes back several years."

Kingpin was lost in memories.

Wes didn't bother him.
