Chapter 23 The Mysterious Magic Circle
Chapter 23 The Mysterious Magic Circle
Their group was truly eye-catching. Soon, several priests slowly emerged from the temple.
These pastors were dressed in peculiar attire, as if they had stepped out of an ancient mural from the last century. Their clothing was simple and worn, bearing the strong marks of time.
"May I ask what brings you all here?" A pastor with a deeply lined face and weathered appearance spoke first. His voice was slightly hoarse, yet carried an indescribable solemnity.
Weiss calmly pulled out a fine quill pen.
The old pastor immediately took it with his trembling hands, his eyes shining with excitement, and said in a slightly shaking voice, "Is this the pen?"
Wes nodded calmly.
"We've finally waited for this moment." The old pastor was filled with emotion, his weathered face brimming with relief and anticipation. "Please follow me."
Wes and his companions followed the old pastor and slowly entered the mysterious church.
The exact date of the church's construction is difficult to trace, but the vibrant and lifelike oil paintings on the walls seem to silently recount the dramatic events that occurred back then.
The first painting depicts a hideous demon and a group of terrified humans, who seem to be engaged in some kind of mysterious pact.
The second painting depicts a peaceful and serene village, where the villagers' lives are warm and beautiful, and their faces are filled with happy and content smiles.
The third painting depicts a solemn church where many villagers are praying devoutly, their focused expressions seemingly pouring out their inner desires to the gods.
The fourth painting depicts the reappearance of the demon, in which the souls of three thousand villagers are mercilessly sucked away and sealed into a mysterious contract. However, for some unknown reason, that crucial contract has mysteriously disappeared.
The old pastor stretched out his hands, which were as dry and withered as tree branches, and gently stroked the mural, murmuring, "We've finally waited for this day."
"Is this the village from back then?" In response to Wes's question, the old pastor nodded emphatically to confirm.
"They've finally gone home." The pastors began to chant the unknown scripture in hushed tones, the sound echoing through the church, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
"Do you know how to handle this contract?" Coulson asked, his face full of doubt.
The pastors shook their heads, their faces showing confusion.
"What do we do now? The devil is catching up!" someone shouted in panic.
"The devil??" Upon hearing this word, the priests panicked instantly, their eyes filled with fear and intense unease as they looked at each other.
"Quiet!" the old pastor shouted, looking at Wes expectantly, as if waiting for Wes to make up his mind.
Wes slapped his forehead in exasperation and sighed, "I knew it." Then he turned to Coulson and asked, "When will what I asked for arrive?"
Coulson glanced quickly at his watch and said, "Right away!"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a deafening roar of machinery erupted outside the church.
Wes quickly went outside to take a look, and wow, he saw all kinds of large equipment such as excavators and bulldozers, and the scene was quite spectacular.
"What are we waiting for? Get to work immediately and have them construct according to the blueprints, down to the smallest detail!" Wes shouted.
Centered on the church, a huge and complex magic circle slowly began to take shape.
It must be said that the people Nick Fury sent were indeed very capable.
They didn't ask any questions from beginning to end, and no matter how strange or incomprehensible Weiss's requests were, they carried them out strictly without saying a word.
With the priests tirelessly helping to apply the magic runes, Wes's work became much easier.
Thanks to everyone's efforts, the giant magic circle was finally completed before nightfall.
Wes then released the agents, and everyone else evacuated in an orderly manner.
However, Coulson and the old pastor insisted on staying.
"How much do you earn? You're working so hard," Wes asked, with a hint of teasing.
Coulson shrugged and said calmly, "It's hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, including bonuses."
"Suit yourself, but don't expect me to protect you." After saying this, Wes turned to do the final check-up.
The sun slowly set, and the last rays of sunlight gradually faded. When the last ray of sunlight completely disappeared, darkness enveloped the earth.
The Demon Heart of Witch flew over from the distant horizon like a ghost.
There wasn't a single mark of injury on his body. On the contrary, the aura he exuded was even more fierce and chilling than before.
It turned out that he had ruthlessly devoured the betraying water demon, thus healing his injuries.
The Demonic Heart descended slowly from the sky, and the moment his feet touched the ground, Johnny didn't hesitate to twist the accelerator to the floor, and the engine roared to life.
Thick black smoke billowed from Johnny's body, followed by a raging inferno. His hair was instantly burned away, then his skin, until he was transformed into a fearsome skeleton knight.
He drove that blazing motorcycle towards the Demon Heart of Witch recklessly.
Wow!
Coulson's mouth gaped open as he watched an ordinary motorcycle instantly transform into a blazing war machine.
"If you want, you can sign a contract with Mephisto. I think he would be very happy to help you," Wes couldn't help but tease.
Coulson shook his head repeatedly, his face full of rejection.
This time, Wu Xinmo easily stopped the oncoming motorcycle with one hand.
Even when Johnny floored the accelerator and used every trick in the book, the Witchheart remained unmoved, as steady as a mountain.
With a roar, Carter charged towards the Witchheart Demon from another direction on his steed.
During the journey, Carter also instantly transformed into Ghost Rider. At the moment of transformation, light shone brightly, accompanied by raging flames.
Unlike Johnny, Carter did not choose to charge head-on.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Instead, it circled around the Demonic Heart of Witches rapidly, seemingly looking for an opportunity.
His hunting rifle kept firing bullets.
Bullets struck Wu Xinmo in the chest, the powerful impact knocking him back several steps.
Johnny took the opportunity to fall off the motorcycle and waved the long iron chain in his hand.
The iron chains, wreathed in flames, wrapped tightly around the Witchheart Demon, one ring after another.
However, the Heart Demon's strength far exceeded Johnny's, and with a little effort, the chains became the Heart Demon's weapon.
The Demonic Heart grabbed the chain, swung his arm violently, and Johnny was sent flying like a light, floating object.
The Demonic Heart simply used Johnny as a flail, repeatedly slamming him into the ground. The enormous impact even snapped a huge, thick tree in half.
Finally, Johnny crashed into Carter, who fell to the ground in a sorry state, horse and all.
"Idiot, don't you know to let go?!"
Carter's angry rebuke brought the somewhat dazed Johnny back to his senses, and he quickly dropped the chains in his hands.
The Demon of the Witch's Heart will show no mercy whatsoever.
With a wave of his hands, he launched two black energy balls that struck the two Ghost Riders.
The two knights were blasted into the air by the powerful force.
Before he even landed, Wu Xinmo leaped forward and grabbed him by the neck.
Just then, the flames on the two Ghost Riders began to dissipate, and the situation became extremely critical.
"I told you long ago, a lackey can never harm its master," Wu Xinmo sneered smugly.
Carter and Johnny struggled incessantly, but it was to no avail against the immense power of the Heart Demon.
Just as the two were about to transform back into human form.
A powerful spell struck the Witchheart Demon precisely.
The Demon of the Witch Heart let out a painful howl, and in his agony, he had no choice but to open his fingers.
Carter and Johnny were then able to escape.
Immediately afterwards, flames reignited on their bodies.
"Wizard!" The Witchheart Demon gritted his teeth, glaring fiercely at Wes.
"How does it feel to be torn apart like this?" Wes asked with a smile and a calm expression.
"You're asking for it!"
Enraged, the Witchheart charged toward Wes at incredible speed, leaving only a blurry afterimage in the air.
