Chapter 22 Arrival

Several cars sped across the vast, desolate wilderness of Texas.

The wheels rolled on, kicking up clouds of dust that formed a long yellow dragon behind them.

These vehicles have clearly undergone meticulous modifications, with every component optimized and altered to allow them to adapt effortlessly to a variety of complex terrains.

Even when speeding along rough, potholed roads, it feels as smooth as if it were on a flat road. The bumps inside the car are minimal, and the passengers feel almost no vibration at all, as if they are in a stable, mobile fortress.

Inside the largest vehicle in the middle of the group, Weiss was intently writing furiously on a piece of paper.

Johnny, who was unconscious, was firmly tied to the seat with sturdy ropes.

Carter glanced casually at the papers in Wes's hand, then quickly lost interest.

He shook his head, walked to a seat to the side, and closed his eyes to rest.

Coulson sat next to Wes with great curiosity, staring intently at him, and Wes made no attempt to avoid his gaze.

The draft paper showed a circular magic circle with intricate and complex magical runes.

Weiss was completely focused, constantly revising his work with his pen, and fine beads of sweat gradually appeared on his forehead.

An hour later, Wes finally breathed a sigh of relief and handed the blueprints in his hand to Coulson.

Coulson took the blueprints, his face showing an extremely bewildered expression.

"Send this drawing to the engineers and make sure they memorize it thoroughly, without the slightest mistake."

Wes said with a serious expression and a firm tone.

"Could you tell me what this magic circle does?"

Coulson couldn't help but ask, his eyes filled with curiosity.

"I'll explain it to you then."

Weiss did not answer his question immediately.

"Jandi," Wes called out.

With a "bang," the house-elf Jandy appeared instantly.

Coulson was stunned by the sudden turn of events, staring at the strange creature with wide amazement.

Hearing the noise, Carter, who was pretending to be asleep, lifted the brim of his hat and glanced at Jandy, then couldn't help but whistle: "Amazing creature."

"Keep an eye on this guy," Wes ordered Jandy, pointing at Coulson.

"Yes, Master!" Jandy replied respectfully.

After giving his instructions, Wes opened the briefcase beside him and went inside.

The suitcase locked itself automatically.

Jandy dutifully stood guard in front of the suitcase, his eyes fixed on Coulson, not daring to relax for a moment.

"This gentleman?" Coulson tried to communicate with Jandy, but didn't know how to address him, and could only roughly judge that he was male from his voice.

However, Jandy remained unmoved and coldly said, "Stay put, you Muggle, if you don't want to suffer."

Coulson was rebuffed and had no choice but to shut his mouth and say no more.

When Wes came out of the suitcase after resting, he was slightly taken aback by what he saw: Coulson was curled up in a ball.

When Coulson saw Wes, it was as if he had seen a savior. He immediately opened his eyes wide and made "uh-uh-uh" sounds.

"Let him go, Jandy," Wes said.

Upon hearing this, Jandi snapped his fingers.

Coulson was finally able to stretch his stiff body, and he let out a long breath, feeling a great weight lifted from his shoulders.

She said, somewhat aggrieved, "I just wanted to talk to this Mr. Jandy."

At this moment, Johnny, who was drinking beer, couldn't help but complain, "You're just trying to get information out of me, don't pretend to be so pitiful."

Wes glanced at Johnny, who raised his beer in response.

"Well done, Jandy." Wes's praise brought a beaming smile to Jandy's face.

After Wes assigned him a new task, Jandy vanished instantly.

"Amazing creatures, amazing suitcases, amazing wizards!" Johnny downed his beer in one gulp, then casually tossed the empty can out the window.

The past few days have been incredibly exciting for Johnny; even wizards, characters who only exist in fairy tales, have appeared in his real life.

"You told him everything?" Wes asked.

"I only told him about things related to 'Ghost Rider,' and I had no idea about anything else."

Carter shrugged and replied with a helpless expression.

"Alright." Wes walked to a chair and slowly sat down. "Where should I begin?"

"Mephisto!" Johnny and Carter shouted in unison.

The two of them were kindred spirits, both having been seduced by Mephisto and forced to sign the contract.

"Well, actually, it all has to do with Mephisto." Wes's tone became heavy.

"Mr. Erwin, could my colleagues listen in as well? After all, they'll be involved in what's to come."

Coulson asked cautiously.

After receiving a positive reply from Weiss, Coulson skillfully turned on the communication device.

Although it was ostensibly meant for colleagues, only Nick Fury, who was far away in New York, could actually hear the conversation.

Wes began by introducing Mephisto's identity, and then went on and on about how he was tricked by the Ancient One into accepting the mission.

The three men's expressions changed constantly as Wes recounted his story, sometimes showing shock, sometimes fear.

Even Coulson, who was specially trained and had extremely strong mental fortitude, found it difficult to completely control his expression at this moment.

The information I heard was so explosive and unbelievable.

The Ancient One, the Supreme Sorcerer!

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Mephisto, the Lord of Hell!

Coulson couldn't help but wonder if these were all myths that Wes had made up.

However, there are still two others, Carter and Johnny, who have signed contracts with Mephisto.

This morning, Coulson witnessed the two men transform back into normal humans from flaming skeleton knights, as well as the terrifying demons that appeared last night.

All of this proves that what Weiss said was true.

"Actually, I quite admire you two." Wes looked at Carter and Johnny with an expression that seemed to say, "Are you two out of your minds?"

"How dare they sign a contract with the infamous, treacherous Mephisto?"

Upon hearing this, Carter and Johnny immediately showed expressions of embarrassment and regret.

Johnny slumped helplessly in his chair, muttering to himself, "It's all too late. I've lost everything. Now I can't even die if I want to."

His eyes were dull and lifeless, as if he had lost the light of life and all hope.

Carter, standing to the side, also looked utterly despairing and helpless.

"Quickly ask him how to stop hell from descending."

Nick Fury urged impatiently into the headset.

"I can hear you. Are you agents always so sneaky?" Wes said dismissively.

Coulson didn't feel embarrassed at all; he skillfully pressed a few buttons among the many complicated buttons inside the car.

Immediately afterwards, a realistic projection of a bald, one-eyed dragon appeared inside the car.

"Wow! Has technology really gotten this advanced?"

Carter couldn't help but marvel. He curiously reached out and touched it, only to find that his hand passed right through Nick Fury's projection.

"Cowboy, this isn't the time for curiosity." Nick Fury turned to Wes and said urgently, "Mr. Irwin, what way do you have to stop hell from coming?"

"No." Wes spread his hands, his expression indifferent.

The people on the bus stared at Wes in astonishment at his answer, unable to believe their ears.

"I don't have that kind of ability," Wes shrugged. "I was just carrying out the task assigned by the Sorcerer Supreme."

"Who exactly is the Sorcerer Supreme? Why is she nowhere to be seen in such a matter of global survival?"

Nick Fury couldn't help but start hurling insults at the Sorcerer Supreme, his tone full of complaints.

Wes scoffed, "Come on, when the Sorcerer Supreme was saving the world, your ancestors were being chased by lions in Africa."

Nick Fury's already dark face instantly turned a deep purple.

"It's like the emperor isn't worried, but the eunuchs are," Wes retorted sarcastically. "No matter how much you all worry, it's useless. If even the Sorcerer Supreme can't be relied on, Earth would have been ravaged by these demons long ago."

Nick Fury was about to say something in rebuttal when the car stopped.

"Looks like we've arrived." Wes picked up the box beside him, opened the car door, and got out.

Before me lay a desolate and bleak scene, overgrown with weeds and filled with sand and dust.

Only a single, ancient and dilapidated temple stood there, appearing particularly out of place.

"This is San Venganza??" Carter and Johnny followed them out, staring at the scene before them with disbelief.

Will Mephisto come here?

"It's best not to. I don't want to face the Lord of Hell."

Although Weiss had changed his past mindset of excessively pursuing security, he knew all too well that going against Mephisto would be tantamount to suicide.
