Chapter 26 The Power of the Crystal Ball
Chapter 26 The Power of the Crystal Ball
"This is??"
Wes's gaze was fixed on the crystal ball.
He could sense an extremely powerful spiritual force within the crystal ball, yet this force appeared very peaceful and serene.
"You want it?" Ancient One looked at Wes and asked softly.
Wes didn't speak, but just stared quietly at the crystal ball in the Ancient One's hand.
"Then you can have it."
The Ancient One slightly raised her hand and gently pushed, and the crystal ball, as if guided by an invisible force, landed steadily in Wes's hand.
The moment Wes touched the crystal ball, he clearly felt the pure, unadulterated spiritual power within it.
That spiritual power is like a crystal-clear spring, possessing the power to cleanse the soul.
"This is the gift you were talking about??"
The Ancient One nodded calmly.
"The pay isn't bad."
Wes retrieved the ball into the box with lightning speed.
"This is what you deserve."
Having done all this, the Ancient One did not intend to linger. She simply gave Wes a few words of advice, such as to be careful and to use her powers wisely, before leaving.
Johnny and Carter stood to the side, looking at each other, their expressions and inner thoughts revealing a great deal of emotion.
"Is that all?" Johnny asked first, frowning.
"I think so," Carter said with a sigh, adjusting his cowboy hat as he did so.
The two of them simultaneously let out a deep breath, as if to say that a huge weight had finally been lifted from their hearts.
Similarly, Wes' tense nerves relaxed at this moment.
"What are your plans next?"
Carter reached into his pocket, pulled out a cigar, lit it, and took a deep drag.
Huffs and puffs of smoke eagerly escaped Carter's mouth, and then he said, "I'm going back to guard the cemetery. You know, when people get old, they don't want to move around anymore."
At this moment, Carter exuded a calm demeanor that came with having experienced many hardships.
Johnny, standing to the side, seemed even more lost. He said somewhat hesitantly, "I don't know what to do. Maybe wandering the world is a good option."
Wes, however, deviated from his usual style and remained silent. He did not want to develop a deeper relationship with the two knights; he chose to remain mysterious.
They were like duckweed that met by chance in the river of fate, suddenly gathering together and then suddenly dispersing.
"Goodbye," the old cowboy Carter waved and turned around with a flourish, and then the three of them went their separate ways.
After they left, Coulson rushed over with a group of agents, only to find the place deserted, with even the old pastor nowhere to be seen.
"Sir, everyone's gone." Coulson reported the situation immediately.
"Don't panic. As long as they're still on Earth, we can find them and finish up the remaining work."
Nick Fury's voice came through the communicator. After giving his instructions, he quickly hung up.
Coulson could only sigh helplessly, then ordered his agents to collect anything suspicious from the scene.
After leaving, Wes returned to the Harry Potter world through the panel.
Looking back on this experience in the Marvel world, it was incredibly exciting, with one big shot after another appearing.
"However, this experience was indeed very rewarding."
Weiss sat quietly in his office all afternoon, lovingly stroking the crystal ball and feeling its pure spiritual power.
Before he knew it, it was already evening. He checked the date and realized that it was still early before school started, so he decided to find a quiet place to organize his thoughts and the knowledge in his mind.
After returning from the Marvel universe, Wes, who had always been full of confidence in himself, realized that he was powerless against either the mysterious and powerful Ancient One or the evil and terrifying Mephisto; he was still too weak.
He was also glad that the Ancient One belonged to the Good and Lawful camp; if Mephisto had come to him first, he might have already become Mephisto's puppet.
At the very least, one must have the ability to protect oneself.
He needed to find a suitable place to train and upgrade his abilities. Hogwarts was undoubtedly the most suitable place, filled with magical atmosphere and rich in various resources.
But this was Dumbledore's territory after all, and he had many secrets he didn't want others to know. With that in mind, Wes had no choice but to give up this option.
However, the UK is not a very large country, and even if you hide deep in the mountains and forests, backpackers will appear and you could be discovered at any time.
After much deliberation, Wes finally set his sights on the sea. He then spent a week searching and finally found an island, a secluded island where he was completely satisfied with the environment in every way.
This secluded island is far from the hustle and bustle of the world. Jandi built a simple wooden house on the island for his master. Apart from the abundance of snakes, insects, and rodents, it had no other drawbacks.
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
But how could such a small problem stump Wes, a potion master? He immediately concocted a potion and sprinkled it around the cabin. To ensure the effect, Wes also added a little bit of dragon urine to the potion.
"Now those snakes, insects, and rats will definitely not dare to approach my cabin," Wes said with satisfaction, shaking off the remaining potion on his hands.
After making all the preparations, Wes didn't rush to begin his training. Instead, he took a few days to relax. Lately, his mind had been stretched too thin, like a string about to snap. Forcing himself to train at this time might actually backfire.
A few nights later, the sky was dotted with stars, like countless glittering jewels set against the black canvas. The moon hung high, casting a soft, silvery glow.
A thought suddenly popped into Wes's mind.
Now is the time.
He walked under the stars, carefully took out the crystal ball, then sat cross-legged and soon entered a meditative state. Wes felt strands of pure spiritual energy flowing from the crystal ball, like tiny streams slowly flowing into his body.
Wes felt incredibly refreshed, as if he were in a hot spring, with warm water flowing over his body. He couldn't help but succumb to the sensation and enjoy it. But he quickly came to his senses and began to absorb and integrate the spiritual energy.
A minute later, he gradually felt the magic power within his body begin to surge slightly, and soon this surge came crashing down like a raging sea.
Wes sensed that the power was becoming somewhat out of control. He steadied himself and tried patiently to channel the raging magic, a process that consumed a great deal of mental energy. Fortunately, the crystal ball replenished his energy in time, allowing Wes to continue smoothly.
Soon, the night had passed. The sun had risen above the horizon, and the golden sunlight shone on Wes, making him look as if he were draped in a golden cloak.
Wes slowly opened his eyes, which were so bright that they shone even brighter than the rising sun.
But in the blink of an eye, everything returned to normal.
At this moment, Wes finally revealed a satisfied smile, repeatedly feeling the surging magic power within his body.
With the help of the crystal ball, the surge in magic power did not cause Wes any discomfort; on the contrary, it circulated very smoothly within his body.
Wes watched as the crystal ball gradually dissipated into the air, and the gifts left behind by the 3000 saints were completely absorbed by Wes.
Wes immediately returned to the cabin, eagerly opening the panel and staring at the text displayed on it:
Host: Wes Erwin
World: Marvel; Harry Potter; Delicious in the Maze; #@Alchemy%¥
Occupation: Wizard/Apothecary/Alchemist
Level: 4
Seeing the level column change to "4", Wes was overjoyed: "Thanks to the crystal ball, I have finally broken through the level 4 barrier. Even the headmaster and Voldemort belong to this level, which means that I can act freely in this world."
After closing the panel, Wes did not leave the island immediately, but decided to stay until the beginning of the school term.
Firstly, he needed to familiarize himself with his increased strength, and secondly, he needed to plan his next steps…
